If anyone on my follow list is responsible for this, please leave. Exit. Don’t announce yourself, just walk out the door and swallow a huge glass of shame and humility while you’re at it.
You are completely allowed to not like a piece of media. To hate it, even. Totally fine!
You’re not allowed to harass a grieving widow who produced what was given to the best of her ability (which, let’s be real, was one of the better aspects of the finale) to the point where she doesn’t feel safe to post something she is proud of.
Awful, toxic, parasocial behaviour.
I agree entirely with respect to the fandom, but I think we also have to remember that trolls pounce on this stuff.
It is their lifeblood to harass successful women and then see it pinned on other, marginalized people.
They also win when their trolling leads marginalized folks to accuse and rage at each other.
So by all means let’s rally around and protect Rachel Talalay, she deserves that and more. But let’s also keep our sights on the right malefactors, and not be so quick to be manipulated by faceless people on the internet.
Not reblogging the other person who is like "yeah no" because I don't want pointless drama, but while yes the good omens fans are not little angels, I have quite literally also seen trolls engaging in this fandom just to stir shit up. The kind of trolls that hate good omens fans because we still like stuff made by a ra*ist. So take everything with a grain of salt, any kind of weird behavior in this fandom could be trolling. This said, for the sake of all sakes, stop going after the cast & crew: it's been a month, as much as I dislike the finale (and I'm allowed to), I must say, if you're still so salty you go harass people over it, you need professional help. It's not normal to harass anyone over a tv show. I repeat, it's simply not normal behavior. Also this woman just directed a script, how is she responsible for the story you dislike? Going after the only woman who put herself on the line for the promotion of this show is quite telling (and no I'm not saying to go after the writers, but the fact I haven't seen any hate for the male writers is telling).
Yeah, I’m not going to get into any pissing contests or dox myself, but my doctoral, post doctoral, and professional work had to do with identifying, tracing, and monitoring bad actors/criminal instigators on the internet.
By FAR most of the cruelty comes from 8chan trollers who enjoy throwing grenades into safe spaces. It’s also a shockingly low number of individuals doing that stuff across all sorts of topics from race to religious bigotry to everything else under the sun.
After that? Severe mental illness. (In cases like this, “you killed my favorite character who is so real to me that I think you killed a real life person and are not being punished for it.”)
And after that? Assholes who were invested in the topic to begin with. (Here, ineffable fans who want to make their pain someone else’s problem).
Of course it should GO WITHOUT SAYING that it is entirely inappropriate to harass anyone involved in production.
And of course I’m deeply, DEEPLY disappointed in the fans who did this, and I’d encourage them to leave the fandom and seek therapy for whatever it is that makes them think their actions were okay.
But at the same time, here’s what I saw:
1. Unknown people behaved terribly and/or criminally on other platforms,
2. Everyone here raced to make increasingly aggressive posts about bad actors in the fandom, and
3. A formerly cohesive community of queer, disabled, religiously and otherwise traumatized people fractured.
All that is very, VERY in line with everything I’ve spent much of my life studying.
And, to be clear; I never said the marginalized cannot be abusive. I would never say that because it flies in the face of empirical evidence. On the contrary, it’s well known that marginalization perpetuates cycles of abuse.
What I DID say was that marginalized communities are the favorite targets of the trolls who produce the vast majority of the harassment we see online.
And I said that they win when we fight each other instead of them.

Today Crowley woke up feeling much better, but Aziraphale still insisted that he be allowed to tend to his Husband for one more day.
“Please, darling?” He’d asked with a pout and his eyes set to full-temptation, fluttering blue. “Give me one more day to soothe my nerves. It’s very hard on me to see you ill and hurting, you know.”
So Crowley was on the couch, fully ensconced and being very deliberately tended to, all while trying to hide how much he enjoyed the expert fussing.
He even thought he might like to spend the afternoon as a snake, draped over Aziraphale. Surely it would be fortifying to be able to explore, finding all the places where his Husband’s scent was strongest.
Now if only he could figure out how to ask for it…
something something husbands something something
Right on topic with my recent post. I don't even... I don't even know what to say. The anger and laughter inside me can't agree on which one will come out first, lol.
I know you have to respect other people's opinions and all that, but excuse me, I'm gonna tell people like THAT, from the camp of those who liked the finale, to fuck off. I don't care about those who liked the finale but they show some respect to those who didn't, and are simply enjoying themselves among themselves. But those who insult us, who think we're acting "childish," that we're spoiled... fuck off.
inherentlystupid is quite a username choice. One might even say apt.
Today Crowley woke feeling unwell. It wasn’t really a surprise — he’d finally started to relax yesterday, and that meant beginning to cope with all the stress he’d been ignoring. Which, historically, came with painful, creaky joints, full body chills, and a weighty sense of fatigued malaise that was near impossible to shake.
What did surprise him was Aziraphale’s reaction. At Crowley’s first hint of a pained groan, he’d dashed off to collect not one or two but three hand-written journals.
They turned out to be a collection of Aziraphale’s notes about how best to care for his demon. There were notes on tea blends, bath aromatherapies, herpetological care, and even a detailed diagram of how to arrange pillows. Aziraphale had to adjust that last one, since the couch in their cottage was different from the one in their bookshop, but he muddled through.
And so they spent a quiet day indoors, with Aziraphale fussing over his demon to his heart’s content, and Crowley not bothering to put up more than a single, tiny token protest at all the cosseting.
Sometime between Aziraphale adjusting the portable steam device that was soothing his breathing and straightening the blankets he’d cocooned him in, Crowley relaxed even more. He let his guard all the way down and fell into a deep, restful sleep, knowing with absolute certainty that his Husband would protect and care for him until he woke.

Today Aziraphale is healing.
Quite early Crowley had informed him that there would be no work on the cottage today. Instead they spread out a blanket in front of the fire, miracled up an endless picnic basket of treats and wine, and then spent all day drinking and talking about things no more serious than that time Crowley had a run-in with earth’s most temperamental donkey.
Now Crowley has fallen asleep, with his head in Aziraphale’s lap and a lusty sigh of comfort. So Aziraphale is reading, lovingly carding his fingers through his demon’s hair, and enjoying the heat of the roaring fire and wine.
And healing. He and his Husband are healing, here on the floor of their cottage.
Welp, if That Guy reupped his social media because he thought GO fandom would welcome him with open arms after the finale dropped...
... yeah, nah. Not happening.
Good.
This is my silver lining. That in the process of yet more cruelty he outed himself professionally, which was the only faux-reputation he had left.
Now everyone knows he’s just an Edgelord Nicholas Sparks, and I enjoy the idea of his crumbling ego very much.
Today Crowley overheard Aziraphale on the phone with the local drapery shop. He was interrogating the salesperson about their blackout fabrics as he explained that he has very high Standards regarding the curtains that will allow his Husband to sleep in comfortably.
enough of the Discourse fellas. let's pack it up and go back to basics: getting crowley desperate, overstimulated and crying through sex
And Aziraphale finally letting his inner bastard really fly, because his demon can’t overwhelm himself with affection..
What do you mean The Bentley just let Brian Cameron in
And what do you mean Crowley was sleeping on the street? The Bookshop would literally fake a fire and then lock her doors after he raced in to put it out.
