@ohhhh-bebop
Hi!! Finally posting ! :^)
So, I don't remember where I found this interesting twitter chain about all that we know about the book sequel that was never written, and it does have some interesting info that I had never seen before.
As a non-Catholic fan of the Jesuits, the idea that Good Omens is under the table required reading makes perfect, delightful sense to me.
At this point, "Still a better ending than Good Omens 3" is going to be my new, "Still a better love story than Twilight."
I’m using this for every piece of writing for the rest of my life.
Did I write a terrible email? Still better written than Go3.
Did I get the point of that essay all wrong? Still better written than Go3.
Go3 may be a lot of terrible things, but it is the cure for writing imposter syndrome.
Because did you write it? Than you wrote it better than Go3 was written.

OMS, @ineffable-fits !! Aziraphale’s wedding dress? If so I hope someone can slip Crowley some oxygen.
Evening dress, 1948-49 by Elsa Schiaparelli
I think the skirt of this dress is made of silk but I'm not sure.

@ineffable-fits! Crowley when she loses a bet and has to wear tartan.
Today Aziraphale seemed to be at a bit of a loose end, so Crowley requested a magic show.
“This Mrs. H still hasn’t got to see your work, angel. It’s rather unfair given her namesake.”
And so Crowley, fortified by wine, and Mrs. H, fortified by excellent taste, spent several hours paying rapt attention to the masterful prestidigitation of Fell the Marvelous.
Today Aziraphale walked into their kitchen to see Crowley carefully mending a few stretched and broken stitches in his favorite coat.
She blushed when she noticed his regard, but accepted his thank you kiss and serenely returned to her angel caretaking task.
Aziraphale snaps.
This is the energy I was expecting from S3.
To what we got I say pffffffffffffffffffffffffffffft.
An Apology to the Ineffable Fandom
for Being a Real Butt
Three days ago I wrote this post. It was not my finest work, and before I respond to any more notifications or comments or DMs, I want to apologise.
Tbc, I don't feel there's anything wrong with having minority opinions about a show, or with posting those opinions like they're God's own truth on social media. Those are two of the great joys of fandom. This apology is not about my opinion that Good Omens falls firmly into the genre of cosmic horror in both its novel and show forms, nor for my opinion that show!Omens is not "supposed to be" any genre and could not reasonably have been expected to have a happy ending.
But I also think y'all are right: There is a big problem with how I said what I said. (Shoutout to @vivi-akuneko for separating the issue of content from tone in their comment and pointing out I could do a whole lot better wrt the latter.)
I wrote my bitchy post after seeing a tweet. I thought it was ethically acceptable to be mean in a general sense in this post and that this would not be hurtful to anyone bc that meanness was not aimed at anyone specific. That's the way I've always observed social media to work.
This experience has changed my mind. (Or, at least, changed my mind about Tumblr. I still kind of view Twitter and Reddit as vomitoria where people go to barf up their worst selves, generally speaking.) No one on this platform or any other deserves to be spoken to like I speak in my earlier post, and regardless of how I viewed it at the time, I was speaking to people, not just about a post on another SM platform.
The way I said what I said was mean, and it was shitty of me to bring it here to a fandom space where people have been really careful and really good about not being shitty to each other and not allowing their fellow fans to be mean to or about each other. Thank you to each of you who haven't let me be shitty either. I'm sorry. I will do better going forward.
I'm going to add a link to this apology to the original post and also make an emended version of the original post that says what I want to say in a way that is more worthy of this fandom and of the person I want to be.
Mea culpa, fellow nightingales. I wish you all well.
Thank you for this. You’re neither the first nor, certainly, the last to mis-post. I appreciate how clearly you’ve expressed both what you’d change about your initial post and your sincere regret.
Because of some recent discourse 😅
The original:
I definitely laughed, but I also want to point out that cobra posted a fairly comprehensive and elegant apology here: https://www.tumblr.com/cobragardens/822555500082233344/an-apology-to-the-ineffable-fandom
Because apologies or conciliatory posts never get a fraction of the attention that controversial posts do, I want to help it be seen.

This is getting ridiculous, as if it wasn't already. It's down right insulting to compare someone dead naming a trans person to someone having a different interpretation of a TV show finale than you. As far as tagging goes, the block button is right there if you don't like how someone tags or doesn't tag things. Harassing people who are minding their own business writing fics and drawing fluffy fanart to tag things that isn't even in that art is just being a jerk because you don't like what they're drawing and writing.
You’re right, anon— this is getting ridiculous. It is utterly absurd that anyone is acting as if engaging in the long-established and courteous practice of correctly tagging a ship is infringing on their civil liberties and is a direct, personal attack on how they feel about the finale. It is downright insulting that every well thought-out and eloquently presented argument from those you don’t agree with is reduced and twisted into something dripping in bad faith. It is ridiculous that this fandom is mostly made up of adults— many of them in their 30’s-60’s— but so many are acting like they’re in grade school.
Ridiculous is absolutely the correct word.
thank you @depraveddame for responding to this anon. my arm is just too tired from beating this horse that refuses to die.
Someone we know in the fandom posted this not long ago.
For the love of sweet, innocent Muriel, everyone please let’s take care of each other.
Do you have to tag? Maybe not, but I’m a little shocked that we’re not choosing the proactively kind option here.
Please. We used to be such a force for good in this fandom. Please.
Hey tumblr please stop shoving go3-positive posts in my face or you’ll become my 13th reason
I’ve had good luck blocking #asanthony and #asa fell. Blocking #S3x1 and similar also helps avoid distressing gifs.
And, I know you almost certainly brought up your thirteenth reason as a matter of rhetorical style rather than as an indication of immediate danger, but I want to acknowledge it anyway.
If how much I’d notice your absence on my dash is the slightest indication, I can’t imagine what would happen to your inner circle should you lose that fight.
You matter, infinitely.
I can't think of who they might be, but certainly spooky
The worst thing about the finale is that for the majority of it, you couldn't even feel the love between Aziraphale and Crowley. Or at least, not like it was in season 1 and season 2 (Not faulting the acting btw, it's much more about how it was written).
I fell in love with GO because of the soft love radiating from Aziraphale, his stubborn joy and Crowley's helpless adoration of him (almost despite himself).
They went through so much and their love never wavered.
I refuse to believe what GO3 tried to tell us. That Crowley fell out of love with Aziraphale (and found the world unredeemable).
And that Aziraphale's hope was stupid and he should be shamed into admitting that he was wrong.
We saw the Mirror Universe S3.
I’m convinced and not persuadable otherwise.
Worst trek good omens crossover ever.
wild west minisode where aziraphale is tied to the train tracks damsel style but crowley is taking too long to come to the rescue so aziraphale has to keep miracling the train slower and slower to keep giving him chances
crowley, his foot caught on the stirrup of his horse: i'm coming i promise
aziraphale, miracling the train 10 mph slower: oh no....wont anyone come to my assistance....
crowley: holy shit these knots are so complicated
aziraphale sending the train back two miles with a hand he'd gotten loose ten minutes ago: oh you desperado, you
good omens heritage post
Sorry for promising to post more art and then disappearing for 26 days, I had a bit of a hectic time where I had to deal with a heat wave, finishing up my thesis, and taking care of the very new, very bitey, energetic puppy my parents got and then went on a long holiday without
CONGRATULATIONS ON FINISHING YOUR THESIS!!!!!!
🎉🎉🎉💃💃💃🥂🥂🥂🍾🍾🍾🧁🧁🧁
That’s a tremendous accomplishment and I hope you’re both celebrating your success and giving yourself time to decompress and rest.
I also hope your parents get home soon. Young puppies can be delightful but they’re also nuclear powered destruction and noise machines.

my favourite type of comments here in the tags are those which suggest various neologisms to describe a snake sweater:
