A college professor AU except Geralt is still a Witcher (and secretly fights monsters on his off time) and he’s like 400 years old and teaching history. Jaskier teaches music and poetry. They end up spending time together when Jaskier does a guest lecture about idk some sort of music in history thing for Geralt’s students. Jaskier of course has a crush on the grumpy but hot history prof but notices something is off and embarks upon figuring out Geralt’s secret. And Geralt? Geralt has never met anyone as irritating and naive as Jaskier in his whole life so why does he want to kiss him so badly???

Geralt is such a good protag to me because he is an impossibly good monster hunter and swordsman, has 1/3 of the continent's population (male and female) in love with him, is very articulate and intelligent- and yet he is still a bit of a loser. Girldad to deeply concerning teenager. Is in a 30-year-long situationship. Falls out with his best friend like they're on the playground. Spends all the money he barely scrapes up on a new jacket. Immediately ruins said jacket. So it goes.
Witchers eat eggs with the shell on, saves time, and strengthens their bones.
They also aren't fussy about what kinds of eggs they eat. Seagulls, ostrich, turkey, hummingbird, shark, platypus, etc
Ostrich eggs are a chore to eat, but Lambert got a ‘[insert fancy Gwent commander card]’ for having chewed through and then eaten an ostrich egg, shell and all.
Which honestly was one of the best bets he’d ever gotten - free lunch AND swag to go with? Nice.

I’m thinking eggs are “comfort food” for the lads as eggnog would have been easy to make and serve in large batches to please a large group of hungry (but wanting a treat) Witchers and boys in training.
When they make the eggnog they just blend the shells right in

It's because the writer communicates their feelings for them. If people wanna pull that off in real life they need to hire a guy to walk around behind them narrating.

hi friends! so i have very much realized that the more expectations i put on my work, the more i get paralyzed writing-wise so...(don't hate me) FUCK getting geralt in this chapter. if it's not happening, it's not happening. if it happens, it happens (i am pretty sure it's gonna happen).

to all my readers of Not Anyone’s Baby (but maybe yours) i know the first 10 chapters all hit back to back and we’re slowing down now but please be so mindful of the fact that we only updated a week and a half ago and i am in the us so we did have a major holiday in that week and a half….
i know waiting for updates is hard and i love that you love the fic! but the more i get badgered for updates the less inspiration and motivation i have to write unfortunately. please stay tuned on my tumblr for updates like these as to how the fic is going—i do try to keep you guys in the loop! and please take perspective that a week and a half between updates is so so short for a fic that is not already written

there are some things a character should not be able to tell us about themselves EVEN with a gun to their head. depending on the character that could even expand to include "most" things
i'm talking "you can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink" territory. "i've constructed an elaborate rube goldberg machine of plot to force this character to have precisely the realization about themselves that i want them to, and i'm only maybe 60% sure it'll work" territory. "the deity of their choice reveals it to them in a dream and they wake up and say, 'no, that can't be right,' and promptly forget about it" territory.
