Hello everyone 😺! We wanted to make a post about The Wild Expanse and our activity on Tumblr going forward.. Our goal is to create a roleplay experience that offers more than a traditional roleplay. We want to help members feel more present and make every character's journey feel more meaningful to the world. We want your characters to have choices, conflicts, relationships, and milestones. We also want the Clans to feel more active, the seasons to actually matter, and the things characters do should have the chance to leave an impact, big or small. Whether your character is forming a friendship, starting a family, recovering from an injury, or becoming involved in an event, we want those moments to feel important and shape your characters journey. We may be fairly quiet here on Tumblr over the next few months while we focus on this project. To those who would like to follow us more closely you are welcome to join our Discord server! Do you guys have a general set timeline of when this will be possibly opening? For example next month, or are we looking at a couple months/a year until it's all ready?

We are hoping to give an ETA at the end of October at the latest. Our goal is to have this finished before the end of the year but we are still in the early stages of development. Once we start play testing the site we will be releasing more information about the type of features we are offering!

holy crap this is actually so cool! I’m a tad confused though. Is this effectively going to be an RP ‘game’? (I say game loosely. I’m thinking more of the likes of Lioden and Wolvden but you only play 1 character?)

Yes, kind of! "RP game" is probably the easiest way to describe it, our main focus will always be rp though.

We have been working on browser sim like systems such as character profiles, litters, achievements, progression, fighting system, herb and freshkill storages, and more! Instead of being just a "game" where you click through mechanics, they are being built around the roleplay to support it rather than outshine it.

You also won't be limited to only one character. Members will start with a set number of character slots that you can expand through achievements, events and even the site shop. We can't wait to share more soon!

We just recently released our Hunting and Herb run on the site allowing you to send your characters on little hunting trips/gathering herbs! (This is the first in rp season it is active so we are working on bugs!) Your clans Herb and Freshkill storage update in real time which also affect our illness role! TWE Year 2 Leaf-fall - Warrior Cat RP

Our site has had a few changes! User profiles now have a character showcase, this is where you can show off up to 5 of your characters! (Free line art and Clangen sprites used in example)

Our litter roll has also had some new changes to it! Litter Roll Updates:

Chimera outcomes have been added to the litter roll

Chimera rolls have a 50% chance to include heterochromia

Split face patterns may occur (most common in tortie/calico cats)

Asymmetrical coat patterns are now possible

Rare chance for mixed longhair/shorthair patches

Dense and diluted coloration may appear together

Sorry for anon, I'm a coward. But I wanted to ask! Are the stats mandatory? I was looking over your site and legitimately everything in it is what I could hope for in an RP! Except for the stats.

Haha no worries, anon — totally fair question! Stats are mandatory, but they definitely don’t have to impact your day-to-day roleplay if you don’t want them to. We use them mainly for our battle system, which kicks in during big fights or when two roleplayers can’t agree on the outcome of a 1v1. In those cases, we roll using each character’s stats, age, and size — we even factor in the terrain they’re fighting on to keep things balanced and semi-realistic! Feel free to hop into the Discord if you're curious or have more questions!(you can of course ask here too) Even if you’re not ready to join right away or decide it’s not for you, we’ve got a help channel and a special "New member" channel just for new users where we give a little extra attention and guidance. ❤️
