Part of the wine life is your relationship with wine. I’ve historically found myself at higher quantity than was healthy so I’ve been reducing my intake to err on the positive side of imbibing. Stress, Covid, and that all too enchanting song of a great wine beckoning you to drink just one more glass more can be detrimental to many. It’s been over a year of re-examining my relationship with booze and my health. And while I’m not perfect, feeling better in the morning, not being bloated and having a very clear mind are worth the hard look at the impact of booze. While we often laugh at polishing off a bottle solo, know that in excess even wine can be dangerous. So enjoy a glass but watch how much you tipple. Because a life well lived is a long and healthy life. And drink the best you can reasonably afford. Quality first! I was talking to a dear friend about this very fact. Europeans handle liquor much differently than Americans. It’s planned around food first and foremost and moderation is the rule, not the exception . What is drinking in moderation? As defined by the @mayoclinic it is: 12oz of beer, 5 oz of wine or 1.5 oz of 80 proof distilled spirits. Have you made changes in your wine style to befit your goal of healthy living? I’d love to hear about it in the comments below. 📸: @kellymitchell in #Abruzzo with a #verdicchio vines https://instagr.am/p/CLukUYsg417/
