Not to be controversial, but I think that some people like to forget that Netflix’s Jaskier literally slandered the elves for personal gain. Yes, Toss A Coin is a catchy song, but “respect doesn’t make history” tells you everything you need to know about him. So while Jaskier is a fun, dynamic, amazing character, don’t forget that almost everything he’s done is largely self-serving, often at others’ expense. You can love him but still be critical and acknowledge the pretty shitty things he’s done.
