i like the idea that leela's speaking gallifreyan in the gallifrey audios, as are the time lords, because it means whenever romana or brax use a weird human idiom, they're not just using an idiom that makes no sense culturally. they're literally translating human idioms word to word and for this reason they sound totally bizarre to literally anyone else on the planet

leela tries to explain idioms like "you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink" to narvin only to realise that 1) she doesn't know the gallifreyan word for horse 2) narvin doesn't know what a horse is and 3) the word romana's been using to translate horse means something like "morons on the high council"

On the topic of disabled Gallifrey characters, I think that Leela’s sight didn’t get fully restored by the hound thing, like yeah she can see now, but she got that back from a dog like creature, sight is no longer one of her strongest senses, her smell and hearing are better than they used to be now, but he sight is kind of blurry and she can’t really see color all that well
