What are your favourite things about your job at the guardian?

Good question! It’s probably how creative I get to be while also providing for my family. Jokes and caring for others are my favorite things so the fact I get to do that everyday make it amazing. I love that doing this means I get to be successful and happy which is a rarity nowadays. It’s a privilege to live with this job. And the fact that I’m good at it ;)

How is your daughter doing?

She’s doing well! Astrid comes by the house around every two weeks. It’s hard not seeing her often, but I understand that she needs freedom and acceptance. The world can be quite cruel so it’s the ones closest to you that need be there no matter your choices. Kees, her boyfriend, are still going steady even with long distance and he’s wonderful to have around. Astrid out living the life she wants and I’m just happy watching her shine.

Hello tumblr!

My name is Ariadne Maria Canonicall. You can call me Ariadne though! My pronouns are she/her. I’m straight (but ally!) I am a successful writer for the Guardian and have a lovely family. My only child, Astrid, is going to Cambridge University (and I am so proud of her because I also went there.) My husband lives in Holland for work and I miss him a ton.
