“ we’re family. we don’t turn our backs on each other. “
“ it’s too late! let’s go! ”

A strange angel had been hanging around the woods, following Falcon from the shadows some nights. She always managed to disappear when he turned, but she never stayed away.
Falcon may not have been able to see her, but he smelled her and could hear her moving. He didn't speak, simply choosing to wait for the right moment.
Nox continued hanging around, but didn't seem to follow anyone else in the area.
Falcon waited for the stranger to get close enough to him.
Nox got pretty close one night, closer than usual. Any scent of angel was hidden by the scent of spearmint, leaving no way to tell what she may be.
"I know you've been watching me, so why don't you come out and say hello." Falcon called.
Nox stepped into the moonlight, watching calmly. She didn't seem to mind getting caught one bit,
"Who the hell are you and why have you been following me so often?" Falcon demanded.
"Curiosity." Nox replied calmly. "What are you?"
"What's it to you?" Falcon asked.
"There's three angels in your house, why?" She asked instead of an answer.
"Why do you want to know?" Falcon asked.
"Because you're the one I'm questioning."
"D'you know one of them?" Falcon asked, raising an eyebrow.
"In a way I knew two of them."
"Knew?" Falcon asked.
"Tell me why they're in your house."
"They needed a home and people who care. We took them in." Falcon said simply.
Nox nodded sceptically. "And how did you find them?"
"I didn't. My wife did." Falcon said simply. "If you really are that worried about them, why not come see them?"
Nox nodded cautiously. "That would probably be best."
Falcon nodded. "Okay."
Nox started walking towards the house.
Falcon lead the way.
Nox seemed to know the way well.
"You've followed me here before." Falcon said.
"You're easy to follow."
"I knew you were there." Falcon said simply.
"Never stopped me though." Nox replied, walking right up to the door.
"That's because I know how to defend my family if needed." Falcon said.
''Including those angels?" Nox asked, eyebrows raised.
"Including the angels. They may not be blood, but they're family nonetheless." Falcon nodded.
"You're quite interesting. Now, I'm ready to go inside."
Falcon opened the door.
Nox stepped inside cautiously, looking around.
Inside was spacious but cozy. There was a red haired woman sitting on the floor in the sitting area with two toddlers next to her.
Nox noticed the toddlers, smiling softly. However, she was more cautious about the woman.
Ember looked up at the sudden intrusion. "We have a guest?"
Nox nodded, still looking around.
Falcon nodded. "She wanted to check on Violet, Lii, and Dia." He said simply.
"So that's their names now..." Nox muttered to herself.
Falcon and Ember were immediately on guard. "What?"
"I knew two of them quite a while ago." Nox replied simply.
"Oh." Ember gasped, realizing what that meant.
Nox nodded. "Yeah."
"Do you need help?" Ember asked.
Nox shook her head, determined to remain independent.
Ember nodded. “I can go get Violet, Lii, and Dia if you want me to.”
Nox nodded. "That would work well."
Ember nodded, standing up and walking down the hallway.
Falcon moved over to the two toddlers, watching them closely.
Nox watched him closely. "Why help them?"
“Because that’s what we do.” Falcon said simply, not taking his eyes off of the kids.
"Why though?" Nox asked, stepping closer, studying him.
“Do we really need a reason?” Falcon said.
"There must be a reason." Nox replied simply.
Falcon nodded softly. “It’s personal.”
Nox raised an eyebrow silently.
“What, gonna stop prying now?”
"What are you?" Nox asked, shaking her head.
“Why is that so important to you?” Falcon asked.
"I want to figure out this situation."
“All you need to know is that I’m not human. The rest isn’t relevant.” Falcon said simply.
"Yes it is." Nox replied simply.
Falcon looked up at her, staring silently.
There was a series of small cracking noises, and when Falcon turned back, there was a wolf pup where Nico had been sitting seconds before.
Nox stepped closer to the wolf pup, crouching down.
Falcon let out a low growl. Nico scampered over to him, and Falcon scooped him up carefully.
"Don't worry, I'm not going to hurt him." Nox replied simply.
Ayla scooted over to Falcon, making grabby hands at him. Falcon picked her up too, one kid in each arm. “All due respect, but I don’t know you.”
Nox nodded, backing off. "They should be back soon..."
A few seconds later, Ember rejoined them in the room, smiling. “I let them know.”
Nox nodded, a bit nervous. Dia and Lii were getting ready.
Ember walked over to Falcon, taking Ayla into her arms.
Lii got to the living room first, looking at Nox in shock. "You're alive...!"
Nox nodded happily. "Look at how much you've grown!"
Ember and Falcon stood back and watched, smiling.
Nox pulled Lii into a hug, both of them smiling.
Falcon and Ember watched, both curious.
"We all thought you died..." Lii whispered.
Ember frowned, nudging Falcon. They both left the room, still holding the twins.
Dia walked into the room, immediately getting pulled into the hug.
Ember and Falcon stayed in the other room to give them some privacy.
They talked, catching up.
Violet went to Ember to find out more about what had happened.
Ember turned to her, smiling. "Heya kiddo."
Violet smiled. "Do you know who that other angel is?"
"She seems to be an old acquaintance of Lii and Dia." Ember said softly.
Violet nodded in understanding. "Will she be staying?''
"I don't think so." Ember said simply. "I offered help and she declined it."
Violet nodded in understanding. "Lii was scared to accept help when I first found them."
Ember shook her head. "Something about this seems different."
Violet nodded in understanding.
