SURPRISE! The Write Rabbit blog is officially LIVE!

I’m so excited and so proud to finally announce that after months the website of my dreams is finally up and running. Earlier this year, I made the decision to return to blogging. However, I wanted to do it the right way. So I took my time. I bided my time. I really put a lot of thought into what kind of blog I wanted. I wanted to put my best foot forward. I wanted to put out something that I really loved and would not abandon or stray away from like I have with blogs in the past.

I worked on this blog primarily during quarantine while I was off from work and had nothing really to do. I’m not really good at doing nothing. It drives me crazy. There’s a little voice in my head that tells me that I should be doing something. Anything. I’m far behind and have to keep up…at something. Originally, I was going to work solely on writing. I thought I would work on an experimental draft and I would decide what to do with it after everything was over. However, I felt like now would be the perfect time to finally work on the blog/website and publish it by the end of quarantine.

With that being said, this blog/website isn’t exactly perfect. There are some things that still need to be added and one day I would like to update the website to feature its own domain and to get rid of the Wix banner across my site. But one thing at a time. Rome wasn’t built in a single day.

And so, I leave you to explore the new website. There are four blog posts ready to be read. I hope that you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed writing them. I hope you all fantastic rest of your day, and I will see you soon.

Work Smarter, Not Harder

One of my goals this year when it comes to writing is work smarter, not harder.

When I first started out writing, I was a discovery drafter. I loved writing a story as if I was the first to read it. I did very little to no planning, or I planned the story in the midst of writing it.

As the years went by, and my reading habits changed, so did my writing.

I learned that my approach to writing has changed, too. Discovery drafting now gives me anxiety. There’s too much work that has to be done after the effect.

I’m becoming more and more a plotter—a careful planner. I want to put in the work before I sit down and work on the very first draft. This year, I want to work smarter, not harder.

This year I want to embrace taking my time and putting in the work to make the story of my dreams finally come to reality.

What is your writing process like? Do you like to get the first draft over with or do you like to plan the story out before you sit down to write?

Take a look at what’s coming in 2023.

I’m so excited to share that The Write Rabbit is back. After taking a month away, I took some much needed time to focus on my other projects, my day job, and focusing on the future of this blog and where I wanted to take it in the new year. I wanted to be sure of the next steps and more importantly I wanted to be really ready to take those next steps. After taking some time, after spending a year dipping my toes back into the murky waters that made up the world of blogging….I feel as though I’m finally ready to jump back in and share my love and my passion for storytelling.

Stay tuned throughout the day for updates on The Write Rabbit blog. This weekend, we’re celebrating The Write Rabbit’s first birthday. There will be an extra special post coming Monday to commemorate the commemoration.

2022 was the year of baby steps. It was the year of dipping toes and going at a painfully slow pace.

2023 is the year we’re going to hit the ground running. 2023 is the year everything is going to change. I have a very, very good feeling about this year. I’m so very excited about the future of this blog and I can’t wait to see what it has in store.
