Where is this house?
Unfortunately, it doesn’t exist yet. I’m hoping to keep my writing career going and get the funds to make it a reality, but for now it’s my 5-10 year plan...

No one ever show this to The Schmidtlets (um, unless you’re delivering it as a present to my house, in which case, go right ahead).
I HAVE A MIGHTY NEED
Suggestions for the Writer House
We need books in EVERY ROOM, including non-event rooms like bathrooms, laundry room, utility room, maybe even some closets. If we don't have the wall space for a bookshelf, line the wall near the ceiling with a small bookshelf. Also, maybe it should be a rule that every writer that stays there donates their favorite book to the house. Then, if a writer wrote a book while staying at the house and gets it published, we should add that to the collection as well. Maybe some inspirational wall art quotes to line each room amongst the books. Oh and we should ban TV and refurbish old furniture to make the house as unique as possible. Maybe a way to reduce rent or cut it out completely is to ask writers to perform a service or donate something the house needs (fix plumbing, donate a couch, etc.) in order to help the Writer House and allow the writer to stay for a reduced price. Just some suggestions!
There's been a flurry of activity in my brain lately about making The Writer House a reality. One of the things I'm considering is a Kickstarter. After NaNoWriMo, I'm going to sit down and take a good hard look at whether or not that's a feasible option and which of my writer friends I can reach out to who might consider offering rewards to the backers. More to come!
