âNo, I do not expect any of that from you. All I expect from you is that you do not hate me for acting out of love!â He pleaded with his brother, hoping that he would understand. But Illidan was stubborn... Too stubborn.Â

Illidan looked at him as though he had just been smacked across the face, an unknown wave of sadness showing in his eyes. He loved her⌠Actually loved her. He new Tyrande liked Mal, it was obvious but he had hoped that if he didnât truly like her back he may have a chance one day. Now he realized he would never get the chance.Â
It seemed like they were standing there in silence for a few minutes though he wasnât really sure how long. Snapping back to his sences he did the only thing he knew. Get angry.Â
âNo but I might apologize. I might think twice. I might try to push it aside before my emotions set in. Besides I didnât know you liked her. You knew I did,â he said furiously.
It pained him when his brother spoke to him this way, but he knew why he did. Control over emotions was not something Illidan had. Closing his eyes, he listened to the others frustrated tone.
âI cannot make her choices for her. And I should not have to apologize for what has happened! No one did anything to spite you! We acted out of our emotions, and that was not to involve you!âÂ
A First Kiss

Tyrande felt heat rise in her cheeks as she looked at him. She had always been fond of Malfurion, of his gentle determination. Recently this fondness had found itself settled in her heart and she had offered to accompany him many more places than previously. It seemed that she now had her answer as to whether he returned her feelings.Â
Raising a hand she placed it gently on his cheek, shaking her head softly. âYou did not overstep. Not at all.âÂ
âYou are sure?â He looked surprised, his long eyebrows raising. He was glad to hear it, he would never want to do anything to her that she did not want. Even something as simply perceived as a kiss.Â
âWell, I am glad to hear that...â

Her remark earned a grin, as he brushed stray teal locks from her face. A woman so beautiful, even when she was groggy from sleep. Leaning forward, he kissed the soft skin of her cheek.
âThat is true, but a much different form of sleep. Of the soul, not the body.â

Illidan scoffed and looked away from him âOh please, if you truly knew how I felt for her you wouldnât have accepted her advances. You would have cared about me more. Donât pretend that you are all innocent and loving.âÂ
âI had no malicious intent, Illidan! What was I supposed to do, reject the woman I love? That is madness! You would ridicule yourself if you had done the same!â Malfurion looked frustrated, but kept his tone level and calm.

He had been sitting with her anxiously for the past hour, in such a peaceful silence that he had hated to break it. His teachings with Cenrius were going well, but they were long, and often required him to be awake in the day, when nature most thrived. And Tyrande had accompanied him... A thoughtful gesture, he knew, but perhaps he was over reading the implications.
Before he could psych himself out of doing it, he found himself going with his gut, and when she turned, he kissed her quickly. His heart beat furiously, but slowly calmed when she returned the kiss. When she leaned away, he gave her a dreamy smile.

Malfurion took a deep sigh, knowing that Illidan hid his feelings of hurt with anger. It was something his brother had always done, and even if he thought Malfurion hadnât caught on to him, he had.
âLook, I never went after her... I knew how you felt about her, I would have never purposely butted in!âÂ
Malfurion: Tyrande my love, Iâve grown you a tree to symbolise my love for you, itâs roots endless and deep, itâs flowers beautiful and aglow, like you.

*deep breaths* Illidan is an asshole. Itâs part of his character. Heâs always been egotistical. Every âgoodâ thing he does comes at an unreasonable price which usually ends with people DYING for his cause. Thatâs just how he is. Let characters be egotistical assholes that aggravate the rest of the cast FFS they canât all be loveable like Khadgar. Let him fail at trying to be better, let him continue to be a jerk despite people going âFFS Illidan grow upâ. Let him continue to pursue his own agenda LIKE HE ALWAYS HAS. And letâs see where that gets him. Heâll paint himself into a corner. Maybe he doesnât want people to like him. Maybe he wants to ensure no one comes looking for him after he does something major to help save Azeroth. Heâs all about Sacrifice so maybe heâs gearing up to be a Sacrifice that NO. ONE. WILL MISS. WHEN HEâS. GONE.Â
