PSA // I AM A LOW-MAINTENANCE RP PARTNER
what exactly does a low-maintenance rp partner mean? well… it means that I will never rush you for a reply ( ic or ooc ), meme or ask answer, or pretty much anything! take all the time you need, it really doesn’t matter to me. this isn’t a race, this is something that is done for fun! so, don’t feel obligated to do something or even be online, if you don’t want to. it doesn’t matter how long or fast it takes you to respond to me, if you’re my person, you’re my person. and if you go on hiatus, i’ll stick with you through it so when you come back it’s like nothing ever happened. never feel obligated to explain to me why it takes so long, i get it we all have other things we’re doing. some of us work full-time, some of us are in school full-time, some of us run multiple blogs and some of us just can’t find the will or motivation to write for a couple days on end… I never want you to feel pressured to interact/talk/associate with me. so, do what you need for yourself and just know i’ll be here in the background rooting for you!

It wasn't every day a fox was seen trotting through a city park, carrying a mailing tube full of documents, and wearing a stolen diamond bracelet around his neck. Normally it wouldn't have been Kaz's go to method for getting him home unnoticed, but flashy clothing he didn't want to ditch - not with how much it had cost - meant he'd be identifiable when bipedal. Better to chance it and hope no one paid attention to the furry pests underfoot.
At an iron fence, he backed out, carefully twisting his head so the mailing tube could slip between the gap. Then he heard it. A camera shutter. His ears flicked around, trying to figure out the source, nails scraped across the concrete anxiously as he turned to face it. A woman down by the street corner taking pictures of him. Not great.
After a few seconds, he dropped the documents and cleared his throat, "I'm not signing any release forms, so I better not see those online." His ears were pricked forward, head tilting as he waited for a response.
It was a perfectly normal day after a perfectly normal morning of work. Her interview and photo set with a budding big wig architect taking on the job of reviving some of the historic buildings in the city center had gone off without a hitch and she was ready to find a coffee shop and hunker down for a bit to start crafting her piece to send over a rough draft to her boss. But the universe put something far more interesting in her line of sight and she found herself blocking foot traffic for a moment as she tried to determine if what she was seeing was real or a product of caffeine withdrawal and an over active imagination. The glint of light off a highly polished collar...no...necklace...had beent he first thing to catch her eye. And then the mail tube gingerly pulled through the rungs of a fence. Finally, what exactly was carring these items. A fox. And one with quite the strange haul. Her hand reached for her camera before she even consciously thought about it, carefully moving forward to try and get the fox to focus in her lens. She managed a few stealthy snaps before it seemed to notice her...and proceed to call her out.
"Perhaps try to be less interesting then. I have every right to share these wherever I..." Her words paused then and she really took a look at the strange little creature. "I'm talking...to a fox..." Cassidy finally took a moment to process exactly what was happening and it struck that, even compared to her rather unorthodox hobbies, this was quite possibly the weirdest thing to have happened to her in recent memory. And that was saying a lot. Any rational or sane person might have either immediately taken to calling animal control about odd animal behavior or perhaps ran away in fear of a talking creature that should absolutely NOT be talking, let alone telling her off for taking photos without permission. Thankfully, Cass had never claimed to be rational nor entirely sane. Crouching down on a knee to get more on his level, she cocked her head curiously, leveling her gaze with the fox's. "Your secret is safe with me but I think a little give back for the favor of not blasting this on the internet might be in order, don't you agree?" Bartering with a fox hadn't been on her agenda for the day, but when life sat a rather interesting mystery directly in her path... "What are you then? Shifter? Cursed? Familiar? Demon possession? Something even fiction writers haven't been clever enough to conjure up in their books?" Taking a quick glance around, she noticed some prying eyes watching the odd exchange. Straightening, she pretended to be checking her camera to take another picture but murmured quietly, "There's an alley just over there. I don't particularly care if people think I've lost my marbles chatting with an animal, but I imagine you may not be keen on more attention?" She waited then to see if he agreed or if he tried to make a break for it. Chasing had also not been on her tasklist for the day, but at least she'd worn her comfy boots.
Annnnnnd we're back. Had to take a minute to get some life things back on the rails. I'll be popping on to tackle replies over tonight and tomorrow and then hop on the starters I owe. :)
biting is a love language, and it’s one I speak fluently
I am still very much down and out with the flu, but just putting this in to the universe. You know what types of threads I miss? Epistolary threads - A thread in letters between the characters. Pen pals, long distance friends or lovers, enemies corresponding. Perhaps the thread eventually evolves into them meeting in person, perhaps it doesn't.
BUT LETTERS.
Flu A can suck it. My god...not to be dramatic, but I'd like my casket in plum purple and the lining to sparkle. Hoping I can kick this soon and get back to my regularly scheduled programming/writing.
Will be back to working on replies/starters tonight or tomorrow, friends. Thank you for your patience, work has been MUCH this week.

Violet wanted to surprise Cassidy. Well a surprise that wasn't another random animal that she'd decided to take in. No this was going to be a good surprise. She laid out all their different ropes in a somewhat organised way with a couple of toys laid out beside them. She couldn't stop the grin on her face as she did. She knew Cass would love this.
Once she'd laid everything out, Violet got herself into some lacey underwear. That really would be a chef kiss to this. Once changed, she partialy shifted herself to keep the racoon tail and ears before fianlly kneeling in front of the selection to wait for Cass to come home.
Hearing the door finally unlocked, she could feel the excitement building. "Cass cass cass cass! I need you! It's urgent! Living room! Now" She yelled out.
Cassidy had had a long and frustrating day. Two of her four boudoir clients had cancelled last minute while one of the remaining had shown up forty-five minutes late to her two hour appointment. She was ready to couch potato, maybe call up Violet to come over, and just let the day roll off of her. She needed a distraction. And a distraction she most certainly got, though not the one she expected as hear leapt into her throat at Violet's distressed calls. "Vi, what are you...Huh...urgent, indeed." A very urgent matter, it seemed, as a wayward little raccoon seemed to have made plans that very much fell into the category of distraction. "I see my pretty little pet has thought of everything..." Cassidy's gaze slipped from the assortment of tantalizing items neatly laid out on the couch downward to the even more tempting treat kneeling oh so neatly at her feet. Crouching down, she hooked a finger tip under Violet's chin and tilted it upwards so that her blue eyes could meet Vi's. She sat there for a long moment, simply studying her friend...her familiar...before her lips curled, cat-like, into a smile of approval. "Clever thing," she praised, letting her fingers trail from Violet's chin to give the girl a gentle scratch behind one fluffy ear before carding through her hair.
Before her fingers gripped into those beautiful tresses and pulled her backward into an arch, her back now pressing against the edge coffee table. "Clever girl's deserve a treat, don't you agree? Lay your upper back on the coffee table, arms spread out to either side, darling." Leaving Violet to comply with her instructions, Cassidy briefly moved into the kitchen to grab two bottles of water along a cup of ice and a bag of sweets. Bringing her haul back into the living room, she set them aside for the time being, striding over to take up one of the hanks of rope before turning to admire her little plaything. Kneeling, she started the process of tying a single-column cuff on one of Violet's wrists. "Now, darling girl, what are our safe words? I want to hear them loud and clear. I would like you to also tell me what your limits are today and if there's anything I need to bear in mind as we're playing. Be a good girl and use your words." The cuff was now being tethered to the leg of the table, holding Vi's arm extended outward.
Working through replies but have some mid-day dopamine in the form of a cute lil' babushka. Channeling Maple's level of cozy whilst writing today.

Cassidy's room was a delightful mess. Clothes were arranged haphazardly into piles only understandable to one particular little demon. A demon who was groaning and huffing like an in labour dog as he twisted and turned, watching his back and seeing every time his fingers tantalizingly grazed that fucking zipper.
Just out of reach. Like so many nice things were. He onle wanted to see how it looked done up, was that too much to ask? Such a pretty shade of deep green that caught his eye, how could he not? With a final few frustrated stomps of his heavy boots, Tasha pulled the dress off his head and whipped around to throw it on the bed.
"Fuck a duck!" They yelped, "Wear a bell next time, love." Tasha laughed, not remotely worried about what Cassidy might have to say about his continued exploration of all her worldly possessions and private space. "Oh wait, nah, wait-" Tasha scrambled to grab up the dress he'd just discarded and tugged it back on, turning around with a flounce of wild hair to look at her expectantly. "Can you zip me up?"
Inadvertently summoning a demon could have been the beginning of her own personal hell, quite literally. In the grander scheme of things, she had lucked out with having summoned the literal Labrador puppy of demons, inquisitive and mischievous but...as yet...mostly harmless aside from causing a mess here and there or putting their nose where it didn't belong. But there was a reasons she'd never chosen to become a dog mom... "Oh for fucks sake," Cass grumbled, pausing her rewatch of Criminal Minds to glance up at the ceiling where a notable ruckus was coming from overhead in her bedroom. Actually, a puppy would have been less of a nuisance. At least she could have rehomed a wayward dog if the need arose. A wayward demon she couldn't for the life of her figure out how to banish back to wherever it came from was significantly trickier and far more vexing. Pushing up from the couch, she padded up the stairs and entered her room with every intention of giving him a tongue lashing and kicking him out of her space. It would only be a temporary fix, but it would at least satisfy her irritation for the moment.
"I swear to whatever deity deigns to listen, I am going to send your ass to whatever dimension I can get on speed dial..." Her threats stopped short when she actually saw the scene before her - Piles of her clothes, most rumpled from being tried on she suspected, and Tasha...pulling one of her old cocktail dresses over his head. She literally bit her tongue to try and keep from reacting but a snort of laughter forced its way out anyway. "Oh yes, how silly of me to think I can walk around my own home without announcing my presence. I'll be more mindful next time." Rolling her eyes, Cass arched a brow at their request, "Seriously? Like, for fucking seriously? You make a mess of my stuff, try on my clothes without my permission, and then have the nerve to ask me to zip you into my dress?" She stared him down for a moment, trying her best to appear serious, admonishing, intimidating. But eventually she sighed and stepped carefully over a pile of what she thought was her good lingerie. "You're lucky I don't wear that one much anymore." Finally, she broke into a another laugh and tugged up the zipper the rest of the way. She had to admit, the bodycon dress fit him well, "It is entirely unfair that looks better on you than it did on me. Here..." She plucked up her old leather motorcycle jacket she'd lived in during college, "This looks killer with it. Can I ask why you're hosting your own episode of What Not To Wear in my closet?"
Plotted Starter for @ofmagicallonging
Lily had always loved the colder months of the year. The times when life seemed to slow down a little more and people tended to indulge in the cozier aspects of life, the season where it was perfectly acceptable to curl up with a good book and wrap one's self in every soft and warm article of clothing or comfort they owned. Yes, Lily liked the cold weather...as long as she didn't have to get out in it. Thankfully the snow and ice of the previous week had melted, but it hadn't taken the sharp chill in the air along with it. Bundled up and walking with her face down to the biting wind, Lily curled the arm not holding her cane a little closer to her body, savoring the little bit of warmth radiating from the two steaming to-go cups nestled into the crook of her elbow. Just a little further, she coaxed herself. Just a little further and the trek through the tundra would be all worth her while. The weather seemed to work in her favor in the sense that it kept the foot traffic for her navigate around at a minimum. Still, a challenge came into play when faced with her arch nemesis in the moment: The shop door. "Didn't think this part through very well, now did we?" She murmured to herself before giving a small sigh and shifting to try and balance her cane in the hand of the arm cradling the drinks as well. Under normal circumstances an easy enough feat but the layers of extra clothing to combat the cold made the arrangement a little precarious. She managed, though, with only a brief moment of worry when she thought she lost her balance with the cups. A relieved huff fell from her lips as she walked into the gloriously warm flower shop. The heady scent of the blooms hanging in the air around her felt like a warm welcome as she walked toward the front desk. "Robin?" He never seemed to be too far away whenever she stopped in and she thoroughly enjoyed having a little chat with him before she started perusing the flower selections for the day, sometimes asking him questions here and there about the offerings. She set the cups down on the counter, freeing her hands so she could remove her coat and scarf to drape over her elbow as she listened for him. "I though you might like something to warm you up a little with the cold outsides. I asked for extra extra marshmallows!"
Happy Monday, friends! I'm still working my way through updating the blog and dusting off the cobwebs, but I think it's time to actually get some writing started. Current replies and starters will be forthcoming tomorrow after work, likely queued to help keep things manageable. I'm excited to touch base with others soon and get some things rolling!
Where have you been???
That...is a very long and loaded question, my anonymous friend. I don't particularly feel like spilling everything here, but suffice it to say life was a combination of very difficult and very busy for a few years. I also became heavily involved in volunteering and education initiatives with my local alternative lifestyles community, so I've been focusing a lot of my time and energy into that with creating curriculum, teaching, and working with our community wellbeing team to support the needs of our local community. Happy to be back, though, and eager to get back into swing of writing!
