Changing My Major to Joan, performed by Alexandra Socha, in the fall 2013 off-Broadway premiere production of Fun Home. Ms. Socha created the role of Medium Alison off-Broadway; Emily Skeggs played the role when “Fun Home” opened on Broadway in spring 2015.

And we can’t just assume that because someone’s broken, it has to look a certain way. I think that there’s this misconception that if you’re broken, you’re insecure, and that plays out on the outer layer. To me, that is a very superficial decision. I loved the thought of, what does that look like when you actually try and cover it up and let it be something that only very few people see, or that you decide when to let people in on what actually is going on inside you. To me, that’s a more interesting choice.

I had a post like this years ago which linked to YouTube videos which have all since been taken down :( Luckily I’d saved all the videos myself so here’s a bunch of download links!!

Original Off-Broadway Cast [2002]: Sherie Rene Scott and Norbert Leo Butz. 

Each song is its own video (it was originally a playlist) and the download also includes a bonus vid of Norbert performing the cut song, I Could Be In Love With Someone Like You, which was replaced in the show with Shiksa Goddess. Video quality is as to be expected for 2002.

Off-Broadway Revival Cast [2013]: Betsy Wolfe and Adam Kantor.

Originally five parts which I spliced together into one. Some lyric changes from the original. The movie version used these lyrics with minor changes. Video quality is quite good. ***MY PERSONAL FAVOURITE CAST

New Haven Cast [2014]: Katie Rose Clarke and Adam Halpin.

In two parts. The staging for this version is amazing. Video quality is very, very good.
