    “Where did you learn to make all of these things anyway? You’re both really good! Tanya won’t even let me look at a kitchen.”

“You must be really bad, then,” Hunter chuckled playfully, settling in next to Yuuto at the campfire, “But, you know, no one starts out being great in the kitchen. It takes time, you can help cook out here with us and I’m sure, before too long, she’ll let you come help her too.”

“As for where we learned,” Alice continued, “We grew up in a really busy house. Our parents didn’t make it mandatory for us to learn how to cook, but our older siblings always helped them cook. And we wanted to be cool like them, so as soon as we could hold a mixing spoon, we helped in the kitchen.”

She really wanted to pout at the twins now. Tanya was trying to act villainous right now! “Punishment, huh? Tell me, Lady Alice… which spots make him laugh the loudest?”

Alice’s expression melted from sweet and playful to the most cruel sibling smile possible, “Oh, I’ve been waiting for that question! Hunter is very ticklish, pretty much everywhere on his body-”

“-Hey wait-”

“-Especially right here on his sides and behind his knees-”

“-Alice, that’s not fair-!”

“And you’ve got a lot of practicing to do if you’re going to keep up with us,” Alice giggled.

“Now, that’s not fair,” Hunter teased as well, “We’ve got a head start on Tanya. And there’s two of us compared to one her. Though, if her arms are anything to go off of, then I’m sure she’ll be sweeping us off our feet in more ways than one before too long.”

Oh, was that a challenge for Tanya? She looked at Alice, then Hunter, as if sizing them up for a fight. Not that she will use her fists, of course— this was a test of skill and wit.

“Don’t underestimate me, Hunter— what if I can catch up faster than you can stay ahead?” With a more confident grin, she patted her forearm with the hand of her other arm. “I can sweep you off quite literally, as you are aware.”

If there was ever a moment to get Hunter Yawa to blush like a fool, it would be this one. Seeing Tanya’s arm flexed brought the best red blush to the already red-themed young man’s face. He gave a soft chuckle and leaned down to kiss Tanya’s cheek, taking the moment to growl low in her ear.

“Well, I’m eager to see how quick of a learner you are.”

Alice joined as well, lifting one of Tanya’s hands to kiss the knuckles sweetly, “Me too.”

If their goal had been to fluster her— well done! The colour of her cheeks was far pinker than that of her so-called perfect lips.

“All the time would be impossible, as I would be unable to breathe,” she answered. Then, a followup comment was added. “Though, ‘often’ would not be too difficult. Of course, to develop that kind of stamina, I would need practice, yes?”

“Oh!” Tanya should have expected these kisses, surely, but she had been caught unexpected. The twins have given her a nice surprise.

Now, who to kiss back first? ... Alice was easier to reach, so she would be the first to be returned a kiss. Hunter, on the other hand, had to be pulled down. “I appreciate them, of course, but what ever was the reason for these kisses, Alice, Hunter?”

Both twins were grinning from ear to ear as Tanya returned their affection.

“Well, I just happened to notice how wonderful and perfectly kissable your lips looked,” Hunter explained.

“And I noticed how they weren’t being kissed!” Alice finished, “Which is just cruel. Such perfect pink lips should be kissed, all the time if possible.”

Her brows scrunched up in confusion. She gave the twin in her arms a rather confused look. “Wouldn’t that mean that you should have already been picked up? Aren’t you cute?”

Were other people of a different opinion in their home region?

“Indeed, Alice is right,” well, Tanya was doing her best at an evil cackle. She was unsure if she succeeded. “You have played right into my hand, at my mercy. What shall you do now, hmm?”

“Oh! You called me cute?” Hunter gasped, doing his best to not flail in Tanya’s arms. This was the best, “And I’m being stolen away?!”

Alice had to cover her mouth to keep from bursting out in response to Tanya’s ‘evil’ cackle. Wow, that was too cute, “I don’t know, Lady Tanya. You simply must punish him, though. To the utmost extent!”

      “Still! Free food from friends is really special, right?” Yuuto took his seat, embarrassed by how at home he already felt. Usually, his only place to feel comfortable was whatever house his mother occupied. Having friends to feel safe with was foreign, but nice.

         His gloved hands lightly tugged Alice’s hair to get her attention, so that he could kiss her cheek before she moved away. “I’m really lucky to be in a world with you two. Have I said that lately?”

“Being able to share food with a friend like you is what’s special,” Alice couldn’t help but giggle at the kiss, smiling warmly as she sat down as well, “We’re the lucky ones, to have you in this world with us.”

Hunter brought over full dishes for them, setting one down for each person there. The Pokemon were already enjoying their meals off to the side, “You’re more than welcome to keep saying it though. It’s nice to know that you like us. We like you a bunch, after all.”

    “Hunter! Alice!” Being nice. He appreciates that, given that the other options were quite miserable. “Is that really okay? Didn’t you make this for yourselves?”

“Yuuto, when you grow up with our family, you know to make food with guests in mind,” Hunter said, chiding him softly with a wave of the ladle. Alice pulled Yuuto over and offered him a seat. There was already some toasted bread set out, along with some bottles of water.

“And when you’re with the Yawas,” Alice continued, giving Yuuto a little kiss on the forehead, “There’s always a place for you at the table.”

Thoroughly distracted from their task, Alice and Hunter came around to flank Tanya on either side. They both reached out and felt on her biceps, gasping softly.

“These are goals, honestly,” Alice sighed, “I need to work out more, for sure.”

“If you picked us up bridal style, you’d be more than able to sweep us up off our feet.” Hunter said, bouncing in his squatting position, “Let’s do it! Pick us up! Come on, real quick, I bet you can do it!”

“It took me years of gardening to develop them,” and by that, she likely meant a decade “but I’m sure you could do it in less time, since you’re thinking of gaining them on purpose. Though, I think you’re already pretty strong- you carried me last time, remember?”

If Hunter was so insistent… he could go first. Adjusting her stance, she managed to awkwardly lift him off his feet as he suggested. Oh, how she envied the blessed height of some people! “The tables have turned. Now I have my thief in my mercy…”

Hunter was delighted as Tanya lifted him up, wrapping his arms around her shoulders, “Oh! This is great, usually only other cute boys and girls get picked up. I-?? Huh?”

“Oho, it looks like our lovely lady of the forest is going to steal you away, my dear brother,” Alice laughed as well, “She will have her revenge and you played right into her hand!”

“Well, that’s ridiculous,” Hunter shook his head, “Beautiful lady like yourself should be complimented on the daily. And that’s the simple truth.”

“Maybe one day you’ll be able to see it with your own pretty eyes,” Alice said, “It’s quite a lovely place, if I must say so myself. And it’s changing every day, always something new and amazing to see.”

“Well, I’m not one to go out much, so there wouldn’t be much opportunities for me to receive a compliment.” Not that she was looking for them. No, her time in town was often for business, and nothing more than that.

“Both of you are quite generous with your compliments,” not that she had any reason to complain, really. It was flattering. “Changing every day, huh? It must rarely bore you to live there, then?”

“Never a boring day if you know how to find the interesting in every moment,” Alice said, “And when you grow up with our family, interesting just happens all around you.”

“We are very generous, but not without reason,” Hunter chuckled, “Nice people who also look good deserve compliments, I like to think. Oh, so, tell us, Tatiana, we’re hopping on this little train and heading to the next town over?”

“Tanya?” Hunter echoed, leaning an elbow on the table, “Wow, just when I thought you couldn’t get prettier. We’ll have to change your nickname to Nya-chan, I think that sounds really cute.”

“Is this a nickname you only give to really close friends,” Alice asked, pushing her fork into her salad, “Or is that, maybe, your real name?”

“N… Nya-chan?” The suffix, she had read that in a book before. Was it not supposed to be used for really close friends?! (Children, too, but no need to ruin her mood)

Her face flushed with joy. Oh, how brightly was she smiling?

“It is my nickname that I give to my friends,” she replied to Alice. Tanya would not answer the question on either names she had given the twins being her real name just yet. It was not too important, anyway. What mattered was what it meant to her for them to call her ‘Tanya.’

“Then we’ll be more than happy to call you Tanya, in that case.” Alice said, finally taking a bite of her food, “A beautiful name fit for a beautiful lady.”

Hunter nodded in agreement, “Consider us incredibly honored to be your friend, Lady Tanya.”
