(Ooc: This past week has been absolutely wild. Here’s the breakdown.

Last thursday: had an interview with a temp agency. Car broke down and barely limped to the temp agency office. Wife had to come put oil in my car. Broke down again on the way home and barely limped home

Friday: got rained on while my wife fixed my car and i helped where i could

Saturday: got the word that i officially had a temp data entry job starting monday

Monday: car broke down on the way to work and barely limped to the office. Wife had to drive out to fix it in the parking lot. First day of training, TONS of red flags

Yesterday: second day of training, learned what i would be doing for more than half of my job by shadowing someone who had been there for three weeks. More and more red flags, including choosing between a paid 15-minute break and an unpaid 30-minute break and not being allowed to eat outside of that time. Emailed my temp agent to quit that assignment effective immediately

Luckily my temp agent understood the red flags i told her about and is going to call me tomorrow to follow up and start the process of finding me a better assignment. But this past week feels like its been a whole month 😵‍💫 im really sorry i havent been on more)

Haven’t sold anything physical yet, but I bet I could. I landed myself a yard work job for most of the summer and my ongoing library volunteer job

How do ya even know what that “sweet spot” is? It feels like every school I look at’s tryin’ to find people that fit in a certain box, and that just ain’t me

it depends. each place has its’ own version. mine needed more of a pentagon. what does the box look like for the school you wanna go to?

I dunno. So far I’ve just been tryin’ everything I can to get noticed. Good grades, skippin’ a grade, sports, volunteer hours… Hell, I’ve been considering joinin’ a club just to add it to my manuscript. I need every chance I can get for someone to notice me. I haven’t picked any one school to focus on. Especially since application fees ain’t cheap. Shouldn’t have to fucking pay to apply anyway…

It really does. If pyramid schemes are supposed to be illegal, these should be too. And it don’t help that I never know what to say in college application letters. Like oh yeah, let’s bust out all the shitty things that’ve happened to me, but it’s all fine because it made me a better person! (🙄) Or else it’s just flat-out braggin’. I ain’t a blowhard, and I ain’t some kinda charity case.
