ABC News tells viewers that scenes of destruction in Gaza are in Israel
More than fifty Palestinians have been killed and another 450 wounded since Monday in Israel’s ongoing assault on the besieged Gaza Strip, dubbed “Operation Protective Edge” by the Israeli army.
As usual, mainstream media outlets are straining to paint Israel as the victim, defending its people against irrational Palestinian rocket fire.
There is no equating the killing and maiming of dozens of innocent Palestinians with scared Israelis seeking shelter from crude rockets that rarely cause damage. But that hasn’t stopped media outlets from trying, and in some cases, outright lying, to distort the violence.
In one stark example, ABC News’ Diane Sawyer misidentifies scenes of the aftermath of Israeli missile strikes in Gaza as destruction caused by Palestinian rocket fire.
As Sawyer segues into the segment, she says, “We take you overseas now to the rockets raining down on Israel today as Israel tried to shoot them out of the sky.” Next to her is video footage not of Israelis or even Israel, but of Israeli airstrikes on Gaza.
Sawyer then incorrectly describes an image of a Palestinian family gathering belongings in the smoking debris of a missile-hit home in Gaza as “an Israeli family trying to salvage what they can.”

2. GO TO ABC NEWS’ FEEDBACK PAGE AND FILE A COMPLAINT: LINK: http://abcnews.go.com/Site/page?id=3271346&cat=World+News+with+Diane+Sawyer
2a. Select “World News with Diane Sawyer” for the show you wish to critique, and “Complaint” in the drop down menus.
2b. Here is a pre written statement that you can use if you wish, or write up your own.
While Diane Sawyer was covering the recent siege on Gaza by the Israeli military she very wrongly told viewers that the scenes of destruction and turmoil the Palestinian people were going through in Gaza were pictures of Israeli people. It is absolutely outrageous that a news station like ABC would make such a blatant ridiculous error in its news reporting. Please make a correction to the mistakes made earlier today immediately. The stunning Nasir al-mulk Mosque hides a gorgeous secret between the walls of its fairly traditional exterior: stepping inside is like walking into a kaleidoscope of colors. Every day, the rays of the early morning sun shine through colorful stained-glass windows, transforming the halls into a dazzling wonderland of rich hues, patterns, and light that play on the floor of the mosque.

love this picture so much
It is not that Islam doesn't believe in love so Muslims don't celebrate Valentines Day and the likes. Rather, the concept of love is SO STRONG in Islam that it refuses to acknowledge anything that downgrades and cheapens this wonderful emotion. The concept of love is SO WISE in Islam that it protects the dignity, honor and rights of both the man and the woman, and doesn't let one run away after 'having their bit of fun.' The concept of love is SO SACRED in Islam that even feeding your wife a morsel of food is a rewarded, blessed deed. That being good to your husband can be a doorway to Paradise! The concept of love is SO PRACTICAL in Islam that it is not dependant on gimmicks and commercial promotion. Rather, it is lived through honesty, gentleness and affection each day of the year, each moment of life. Actually the concept of love is SO AMAZING in Islam that it doesn't end with this Dunya, rather it binds the hearts that love each other in His Obedience in this life and beyond! A story that perseveres in Dunya and then will enjoy permanent bliss in the hereafter. And how shall it not be, when Islam is itself from AL-WADOOD, the Most Loving, the Source of all love, the Bestower of this wonderful gift! There is no faith that advocates love more justly, more deeply than Islam. It celebrates it... wholly and eternally, and doesn't need the world to say when exactly and how exactly it should be expressed! Where do you take your definition of LOVE from?

I request you all to please pray for a mutual friend of mine, Br. Zeeshan. He is a member of YM JC who has been diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. It’s very shocking and heartbreaking to see someone so young go through something like this. May Allah cure him and have mercy upon him, and make it easy for him and his family.
It’s been a longgg time since I posted, mostly because I got a little lazy as our work started to pile on. I feel like writing again though, again because I’m afraid I’ll forget some of the things that go on during this year and I want to be able to look back and reflect and reminisce about my...
Just prayed behind Sh Abu Bakr Ash-Shatri!
Of all the animals mentioned in the Qur'an, the only one that Allah has said He gives wahy to is the bee. That means that everything a bee does is revelation in action, and Allah chose to mention this because He knows "wahy" is a buzzword (pun not intended) for believers. Believers know that just as they're supposed to take lessons from revelation sent down to the prophets, they're supposed to take lessons from the bees and study them as well. The Prophet pbuh has even compared Muslims to the bees. What's remarkable about bees is that they extract food from flowering plants and leave a trace of their presence via cross-pollination, without causing any physical harm to the flower. If another bee comes by that flower, it knows to skip that flower because further cross-pollination would harm the impending development of the seeds/fruit. A lesson we can take from the bees is that while there is nothing wrong with taking benefit from the various relationships in our lives, we can't burden a person. And that we should seek to benefit from people and resources with a mindfulness for the future and the implications and ramifications of our actions. Imagine if every single relationship was based on the mutual conviction to ask of the other person without hurting him/her. On a grander scale, this is an application of conscientious consumerism. Unfortunately, much of the world, including Muslims, lives like the spider/wasp, i.e. "cannibalistic" and evil to its neighbors and those it encounters, spending forever building elaborate homes that are weak anyways. This is why Surah Ankabut tells how how not to live.
