is john there are they following papa who knows. i know that sam and dean dress like twins because sam wears dean's hand-me-downs + it's easier for john to find his sons should one of them get lost or abducted, he can point at dean and go have you seen a little boy dressed exactly like this boy. or when the yellow-eyed demon finally finds them and tells his goons to grab the kid in the green flannel well they're both wearing green flanell so what now. the flannel and carharrt have a job in this family too.

forever thinking abt mary walking in on dean silently crying in some hideaway corner of the bunker and being struck with my baby feelings bc his face is scrunched up in the exact same way he used to cry when he was little. and he was never a wailer, no he'd always cry quietly, whimpering and seeking out the comfort of mary's arms. but when she goes to him now he flinches away and oh that stings. and he quickly swipes at his wet cheeks and tries to compose himself, and she watches as he packs it all away. and that hurts in a whole other way. and this is the first time she really feels like his mother. the first time she reconciles the image of her dean with the adult man in front of her. and in that moment she feels so powerless to do anything to help. she used to know exactly how to comfort her son. she knew how to make him feel safe. and now she's confronted with the fact that he hasn't felt that in a long time. and that she's not the person he'd turn to for comfort now anyway.
