Dying because you’re too poor to afford treatment is a crime against humanity.

No society that allows some of those who live in it to die because they couldn’t afford medicine’s which are now readily available and easily produced can call itself free, great, important, or equal.

If you really think doctors in France, Canada, Norway, FInland, Switzerland, or, basically any other country in the world work for free I don’t know what to tell you bud, but you pretty clearly do not have any understanding of how single-payer tax-funded healthcare works, because I can assure you the doctors in the hospitals and clinics here make a pretty decent salary, considering they’re all upper-middle-class, but also don’t get sued every time they turn around while people like me can still afford to see a doctor when we get sick or go to the hospital if we need to without worrying about how we’ll pay the bill.

In Canada, single-payer healthcare was created by a doctor who was heartbroken and infuriated to see his patients die because they couldn’t afford adequate treatment. He’s one of our most beloved historical figures.

And a very much non-zero number of the docs who left in the “brain drain” in the 90s to go to the States because they could makemore $$ … .have since come back because they said the horrible medicine they were forced to practice in the for-profit system - the amount of fighting with or being dictated by insurance companies, the amount of extra paperwork, the limitations, the stress put on their patients - WASN’T WORTH IT. 

And back here in Canada they could still make a totally comfortable and enjoyable wage while not having to Profit Off Human Misery and Fight For Every Single Thing Ever.
