I went reading into your archives, and saw the Taylor Swift tag. This is just to inform you that the astrology data banks have been using a different time of birth for her. I think you were using the old one, which is connected to an incorrect place of birth. The new time is 5:17am in the correct town of Reading Pa. This places Scorpio as her rising sign which a lot of singers and actors also have.
Astrodienst has that particular time listed as DD which means “Dirty Data” so not verified at all.
i hope the new moon in Virgo is treating you well, Fangirl~
It should be, but it’s not--LOL. I’m a natal Sun Square Moon so when the Moon is in Virgo, it’s squaring my natal Sag Moon. It rather deflates my more optimistic Sag moon and leaves me feeling a little bit depressed. It also squares my midheaven (also in Sag) and is in opposition to my Pisces Rising.
I know I haven’t posted in quite awhile now, but life, etc. But I recently read a very interesting piece on the higher than average occurrence of Jupiter conjunct Saturn in celeb charts and naturally recalled a prime example of this. Guess who also has Jupiter Conjunct Saturn (in Libra) in their chart? Yep. Tom Hiddleston.
This particular aspect occurs ever 19.6 years (It takes Jupiter approximately 12 years to complete a cycle and it’s 29.5 years for Saturn). Some celeb examples for you, along with their contributing chart aspects include Walt Disney (his chart ruler of his Gemini MC Mercury was conjunct his POF (Part of Fortune). He also had a number of planets in Capricorn, who are the true Mountain Climbers of the astrology world (Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn).
In the 1940’s the aspect was in the sign of Taurus, known to be hard-workers. It includes no less than two Beatles—Ringo Starr (Jupiter-Saturn conjunct with a T-Square), and John Lennon (T-Square, Grand Trine, Axis Planet). Others included Alex Trebek (Axis Planet), Martin Sheen (T-Square, Axis Planet), Richard Pryor (T-Square), Placido Domingo (T-Square, Grand Trine, Axis Planet), and Neil Diamond T-Square).
In Tom’s own time period, there are several familiar names including Jessica Alba (Conjunct plus a T-Cross, Grand Trine, Axis Planet), Justin Timberlake (T-Cross, Axis Planet), Rami Malek (T-Cross, Pluto conjunct Part of Fortune), Chris Evans (Planet on the axis, all planets except one above the horizon of the chart) as well as Alicia Keys, Beyonce, Christina Aguilera, Natalie Portman, Paris Hilton, Roger Federer, Ryan Gosling, and Meghan Markle. Also note that this particular Libra conjunction is in an air sign and Libra is closely associated with beauty, wealth, and artistic endeavors. So, looking at Tom’s chart, you can see the Jupiter-Saturn conjunct—and it’s a tight orb—at .38 degrees. His Saturn (and Uranus) are both exalted in his chart, giving his Saturn an extra push.
The conjunct from these two planets however, is not enough, on it’s own to guarantee success. Typically, those that have achieved fame will have this conjunction will also have other indicators in their chart as success is greatly enhanced with these aspects because they show the potential for increased drive and ambition. Examples of these additional driving forces in combination with the conjunct would be: 1) A grand trine; 2) a T-Square, 3) Planet on an axis point (Particularly the MC or AS), 4) aspects to the North Node, 5) Conjunct with Jupiter, and 6) and/or the majority of planets above the horizon in their chart (the dividing line between the top/bottom of an astrology chart).
Additionally, he’s got the following:
· T-Square between his Moon, POF, and Pluto
· T-Square between his Pluto, MC, and Moon
· T-Square between his MC, Moon, and POF
· T-Square between his POF, Pluto, MC
· Grand-Cross between his Moon, POF, Pluto, and MC
· Majority of planets above the horizon in his chart
This is a piece that was sent out to subscribers of Alex’s Asteroid Astrology--note that asteroids and fixed stars are amazing at both being a predictive tool and also of natal potential. I really need to do Tom’s and throw them up here for y’all to peruse. Okay so the transit chart using 12:54 AM (when the tweet was sent announcing Trump and his wife were positive) set for Washington DC, has 24 Cancer Rising which conjuncts Trump’s natal Saturn at 23 Cancer. Trump’s Transit Saturn at 25 Capricorn is currently opposing his natal Cancer as well. Transit Pluto is also conjunct Transit Saturn which puts both the ancient and modern lords of death in an angular position. He also notes that Saturn rules isolation and quarantine as well as the presidency, generally, in mundane astrology.
Trump’s also got a natal combo of asteroid Nemesis and Koronis (which has been used by astrologers to signify the virus). Nemesis is interpreted as the point of ruin or undoing. When the Tweet was posted, the transit full Moon had moved to exactly square Koronis. And the transit Nemesis at 20 Libra is making a T-Square of Trump’s natal Koronis/Nemesis opposition, which made a transit Grand Cross configuration, again, a powerful signifier in astrology. Transit Koronis at 27 Aries was squaring Trump’s natal Saturn and it’s important to note that trump’s Natal Saturn is conjunct the asteroid KARMA. There’s more but I just thought this would give you an insight into how predictive and powerful asteroids and fixed stars can present in an astrology chart.
Some things to note here-- his transit Venus on his natal Mars and Ascendant (angular) and transit Mars is in retrograde in aspect to his natal Venus-Saturn, plus, you can see the node action here as his he’s damned close to his Nodal return. His Transit Neptune is also square his sun and moon and nodes and in Medical Astrology, Neptune aspects are linked to immune system issues, but also addictions and oh, lying.
Also, keep your eye on October 9th--not just for Trump but for all of us, in general. It’s going to be another tough day.
His Progressed Moon (in Virgo) is exactly square his 10th house Uranus now and for the next few weeks. He has Aquarius and thus Saturn and Uranus ruling his 6th house of health. Tr Pluto is moving to a challenging and discouraging opposition to his Saturn from late November so both his 6th house rulers are under strain at the moment. Plus he has had a highly pressured run of difficult transits to mid points:
The catastrophic tr Uranus square his Mars/Saturn midpoint, to which Ebertin ascribes accidents, illness or tests of nervous strength, was in place till late September in which latter days the virus may have been gestating; at the same time as the disruptive tr Uranus square his Pluto. Mid August to late November he has tr Pluto opposition his Mars/Uranus which will bring a struggle for survival and a real test of nerves. He is under a staggering amount of strain coming in from all quarters.
His Lunar Return from 23 September for four weeks has the Saturn Pluto conjunction on the cusp of his 6th (Health). Remember those key words for Saturn, Uranus, and Pluto?
Saturn: Represents the structures of your life. It’s been called a Karmic planet, if you haven’t worked hard on yourself and lived up to your responsibilities, it will test you.
Pluto: How you regenerate, rebuild and also death and rebirth. It tears away structures that no longer serve you to rebuild something better and more long-lasting. It will make you evolve even when you don’t want to.
Progressed Moons are a powerful tool in predictive astrology. Our progressed moons move from sign to sign about once every 2.5 years. Trump’s progressed Moon is in Virgo right now. Typically, when your Prog Moon is in Virgo, your likely to be more focused on your career, work, and health.
Uranus is what i call the electric shock. It’s there to change or disrupt your life (hopefully for the better, but not always).
It’s also worth noting that Trump has Regulus on his Ascendant in his 12th House--aka the house of self-undoing. It also means "Little King" and is usually a fortunate star, success, wealth, etc. but what typically comes with it is a stunning downfall if one abuses their power and position. Bonati, a Medieval astrologer wrote that when acting in a negative way, this star means "the person shall die an unhappy death or at least that all his honors, greatness and power shall at least suffer an eclipse."
And while I don’t know if Bonati meant that eclipse bit literally, but the December 2020 Sagittarius eclipse will conjunct Trump’s Moon and oppose his Sun. Eclipses to the Moon typically bring up the past and can lead to public scrutiny. Sun opposition the Eclipse is typically a crisis moment when mistakes have to be faced and changes made in a person’s life. There’s a term for it--”being eclipsed.”
But you also need to know that the US chart (yes, countries have charts just as we do)--is also taking some real hits at the moment.
Mars Rx is no joke. Idk the exact transit degree, but its opposing my 6th house planets (mars/pluto/saturn—I have a late degree mars). I got paracetamol poisoning/overdose trying to hide my PMS/autoimmune symptoms (fever) for when they check your temperature at the door. The next class I had to call in sick & now I'm slowed down as I need replacement class! I messed up my liver, kidney, and have major acid reflux. And then the Jakarta governor announced a 2nd lockdown on 9/9/2020. 😭😿
I hope you haven’t done any permanent damage!
I noticed that I was exhausted the day it went retro. I actually fell asleep in a a chair watching tv, something I very rarely do.
Hope you’re feeling better soon.
Also, I’ve seen some predictions that the Mars in Aries Retro will coincide with a rise in C19 cases. Again. It’s happening where I live too.
An astrology chart is divided in 12 Houses. Now, there are many different house systems but the most commonly used are Equal, Koch, and Placidus with Placidus being the most commonly used.
So let’s take a look at someone with a verified birthtime.
This person has their Sun in their 8th house in Virgo (along with their Mercury). Venus also shares the 8th house position, but is in Libra (it’s a very wide 8th house). This is a person whose very being is bound up in 8th House matters, i.e. life, death, psychological motivations, power plays, and they are looking for change and transformation. With Virgo in the mix, they are dedicated to serving others, to being useful and helpful. Their Moon (and North Node) in Taurus in the 4th House has strong ties to their family and early life experiences with their dominant childhood influence being their mother and/or females in their family. But note it’s sitting in opposition to their Saturn in the 9th House in Scorpio so bound up with duty, responsibility, etc. (Saturn). They are likely to be both introspective (9th House) but also with a deep desire to transform (Scorpio) areas of life dealing with higher education, long journeys, and a philosophical viewpoint (9th again) that is somewhat stubborn (Taurus) in its expression. It’s the sign of someone who longs for home and family (4th) but also prioritizes transformation and privacy (Pluto in the 9th in Scorpio as well) and they aren’t afraid of leaving home to do it. By the way, this person is Prince Harry. Look at how much of his chart is above the horizon (top part of the chart). This is a life lived in public but with his true destiny (N Node) and wanting to have this private family life. Some wounding through relationships as well (Chiron in 5th).
So knowing that Tom is a sun-sign Aquarius and using the information about the Sun I posted yesterday, you can begin to construct a bit about the person with this information. For example, Tom is a Sun Sign Aquarius, His basic purpose and identity is to be different and to achieve this he is an original, perhaps a bit rebellious in some areas and interested in changing things up. Note too that Tom’s Venus--i.e. how he is attracted to people and they to him and what he values and lovess is also in Aquarius, Read more below as I go through all of Tom’s personal planets.
He’s an Aries Moon. The moon is about your emotional state and how you react. So with that in mind, it means he reacts in a visible way, that when his emotions are fired up, he will take the initiative in responding, perhaps impulsively. Note here, Aries is the most immature of the Fire Signs known for being impulsive and blowing up quickly. They also are quite enthusiastic (more on the elements and modalities of the signs later).
His Mercury is in Pisces as his Mars. Mercury is how you think, how you reason, how you communicate and learn. Mars is about your drive, determination, how you assert yourself and go after the things you desire. And Pisces is all about the feels and bringing the drama. So naturally, he has a heart for others as seen in his work with UNICEF and various other charities (Mercury). But thwarted from achieving what he wants, and in it’s worst expression, it’s martyrdom, perhaps best seen in his retreat from acting for a while following a few unpleasant events in his life/career. But life is there to teach us any number of things and the best expression of the energies involved is to be more thoughtful of actions before taking them and showing even greater compassion towards others.
The Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, and Mars make up your “personal planets”, and above, I’ve shown you how to use the keywords from each sign and planet to suss out your own chart or those of anyone else you’re interested in learning more about. It’s far more complex than all of the above of course, but I hope that this has sparked your interest in learning more or that it has changed your mindset about astrology’s value and worth.
In addition to having planets in signs, planets also have modalities (cardinal, fire, mutable) as seen below.
Planets also are classified by elements (fire, air, water, earth).
If you’ve cast your chart on Astro.com, you may have noticed this little chart below the wheel diagram which provides an overview of a person’s planets by element (down the side) and modality (across the top). As you can see from the example below, this person has a shit-ton of planets and their angles (Ascendant aka AC and Midheaven aka MC) in Air Signs.
So using the chart above, let’s break down the dominant elements and modalities in their chart. A very quick glance at this would tell you that the person is very likely to be action-oriented (Cardinal Signs) but also, seeking long-term security and stability through concentrated effort (Fixed). With the majority of planets in Air signs, they are likely to express themselves in a somewhat detached manner and are quite unique in their thinking and actions (Air). And yes, this person is Tom Hiddleston.
Astrology has a LOT of symbols. The most essential to learn are those that represent the planets, the signs, and the aspects (at least the majors, the trine, sextile, conjunction, and opposition). It truly is like learning a second language!
Go to Free Horoscopes>Drawings & Calculations>Extended Chart Selection
Add a New Person—Fill in your first name, gender, birthdate, Time of birth (if known, if not, go with 12pm), your country, and birth time. Then click on “Show/hide extended settings”.
On Options for Zodiac & Houses: Choose Placidus
Under Display and calculation options, click Mean Node and Descending Node
Click on 6 fixed stars under Misc.
Then at the bottom of the page>Click here to show the chart.
If you want a quick look at what all this means, go back to Extended Chart Selection and under Sections—click on Pullen/Astrolog>Simple Chart Delineation by Walter Pullen. That will give you a very rudimentary look at both your natal chart with your planets and signs and houses delineated and an overview of your aspects (i.e. Sun Square Moon). And now you have a copy of your natal chart. A cheat sheet so to speak is below of what each planets represents in your chart and the chart itself is a snapshot of all that you are and your potential. I’m going to do a number of these “how-to” posts and I’m going to use Tom’s chart as an example. So if you’re interested in learning more about astrology to explore it on your own or you just want to learn more about Tom’s chart, stay tuned.
Do y’all remember March? You know—the last days of normalcy? Guess what was going on then? Mars joined the Capricorn stellium (a collection of planets in a particular sign or in a single house is a stellium). You know what it’s doing now? It’s going to be square to those transit planets in Capricorn. The “hard” aspects in astrology are the Conjunction, the Square, and the Opposition. Conjunctions can be a mixed bag of good and bad but for sure, it’s intensely felt. Squares are typically internal struggles and oppositions are external struggles.
And boy are we going to get a lot of opportunities to feel tense and stressed in the next few months.
Mars in Aries squaring Jupiter--we’ve already been through one square this year (August 4th) and the next time it’s in orb will be on October 18th while Mars is retrograde with a third and final hit in January 2021. Jupiter amplifies and Mars wants to be victorious so what you may see here is the drive to win at all costs.
Mars Square Pluto has three hits this year—August 9th and again on 10/9 and 12/23. Look for things that were simmering around August 9th to get a feel for any lingering situation is likely to rear its head again in October with the second hit and then in December expect resolution of the issue in with the third and final hit. Pluto is a generational planet and it works to dissolve old power structures, the establishment, etc. to reform it into structures that are ultimately more useful in the long-run. Take a look at the downfall of Jerry Falwell, Jr. who was telling people to “obey” that Bible while having a throuple relationship with his wife and the pool boy. You’ll also see hidden things become evident. Or at the very least, you’ll get a fleeting glimpse as the establishment frantically tries to hold on to power and continues to deceive and grift and intimidate until they’re just flat-out of any new ideas. In the end, Pluto will emerge victorious and a new foundation will be built but who will it benefit? Now, let’s throw some gasoline on the fires (Mars in Aries) and watch that foundation being set on fire.
And if that isn’t enough to keep you up at night, let’s consider Mars Square Saturn is also in the mix at the same time of all the above. Saturn restricts. It’s law and order and enforcement and loves its traditions and rules and will come down like a hammer when and where it can, particularly in rather stubborn Capricorn. That gasoline fueled fire from Mars Square Pluto? Expect even more exchanges of violence in the world and more obstacles thrown in the way of long-term progress.
So, what are you supposed to do in dealing with all of the above? Work with the hand you’re being dealt. There are no easy answers to be had here, no perfect solutions. There are tough choices to be made. Try to think carefully and strategically. And most of all, try to choose the least worst option you’re being given in any situation that arises during the next few months.
From September 9th through November 13th, Mars will be retrograde in Aries, it’s ruling sign. The hot spot periods for this Retro run through most of September, all of October and the first two weeks of November but will be most especially tense as it goes retro (September 8-10h) and as it goes direct again (November 12-14). I call Mars the 3D planet: Drive, Determination, Desires. It’s how we go about getting what we want. Always assertive, it can even get down-right aggressive. But in retrograde, all that energy moves inward, think of it as a pressure cooker with all our usual expressions such as courage, assertiveness, drive, desires, determination, etc. going inwards. You may feel more impulsive, impatient, frustrated, anxious, even overly-cautious and fearful about taking action. You may trying as hard as you can to get something done and nothing is happening and that leads to either more anger, tension or even depression.
Coming around once every two years, these Mars retro periods shouldn’t be feared but should be welcomed as a gift as it gives us a greater opportunity to think more deeply about what it is we truly want and how we can best achieve it using newer, more refined methods or just simply requiring us to wait awhile before moving forward and reducing our own impulsiveness.
But oh joy—not only is Mars in its ruling sign of Aries, it’s going to square the current clusterfuck of planets in Capricorn. Did I mention that more than half the planets right now are also retrograde too? Squares are internal struggles typically and indicate tension and typically require addressing and it’s typically irritating as hell with Mars in the picture. Now—what does this mean for all these other big bad planets? We’ll take a look in my next post (stay tuned).
