          persephone smiles. she is, perhaps, a little guilty of staring at her mother. can she be blamed? it has been six months since she’s last seen the goddess, and she’s missed her dearly. “have i ever said how beautiful you are, mother?”

       it’s impossible for demeter to be unhappy with her daughter around.  the soul-crushing sadness she feels half the year dissipates at the mere sight of her daughter.  her heart warms, smile rooting firmly in place, and demeter cannot help herself from gathering persephone up in her arms.     ❛     is that a roundabout way of saying that YOU’RE beautiful, too, baby?   because you sure as hell didn’t get your looks from your father.     ❜
