THINKBRINK! an independent, mutuals only portrayal of jordan li from prime's gen v. broadcasted to your local dashboard by jj / theythem / twenty1+ / pacific timezone. this blog is multi-verse and highly crossover & oc friendly, but main verse is adherent to the current show's canon timeline. rules and other important info under the cut. spoilers will be tagged as 'spoilers.'
basic rp etiquette applies, minus reblog karma. i don't mind if you rb from me or the source. please only interact with my posts if we are mutuals. i will not write with any muns or muses that are minors.
no zionists, antisemites, transphobes, islamaphobes, racists, nazis, fetishizers— the list will go on and on. just don't be gross. no vagueposting either. call real shit out or handle it yourself.
this blog will feature mature content, specifically in terms of nsfw, substance use, mental illness, talks of gender identity and dysphoria, and more. all will be tagged as 'trigger tw'.
i softblock liberally and in no way is it personal. i will only hardblock if i am sure that i do not have any desire to interact, or if you write any of the following themes out: p/dophilia, inc/st, t/boo.
highly open to plotting via ims or disc, but the primary way to kickstart interactions is via memes. i tend to be very slow with getting back to people and prefer to just write! please feel free to send memes of any kind, even if it's testing the waters of antagonistic or romantic.
highly duplicate friendly! also, multi-verse and multi-ship. never will i force mariejordan on anyone else, even though that is the default canon ship for them. i enjoy shipping to a degree, but i am highly favorable of other dynamics like antagonistic, familial (found), and platonic.
pretty (s)low to sporadic activity ahead. here is my blogroll to see where else i might be!
my jordan primarily goes by they/them pronouns, and it will be discussed with respective muns if your muse is close enough to use they/she/he. jordan's gender exploration and expression is something near to my heart so it will be a highly present theme on this blog. blatant transphobia and talks of bigotry will be tagged, but more of the introspection and self-analysis may show up within writing untagged.
in no way will any that be romanticized or tokenized, nor reduced to a simple plot point, but it needs to be voiced due to the potential triggering nature. please follow at your own caution, and i understand completely if you end up stepping back due to that.
— she felt one thousand years old. she also felt like maybe she was a condescending brat. she wanted her bike. she wanted her friends, who were also one-thousand-year-old condescending brats. she wanted to live in a world where she was surrounded by one-thousand-year-old condescending brats.
#SENSIBLETHINGS! an independent portrayal of blue sargent from the raven cycle universe, adapted into the genre of gothic literature with influences taken from jamaican and welsh folklore. as beloved by jj, twenty4, they/them, southeast asian.
the shift in jordan's priorities is something that is also so deeply important to me. the growth in a span of 1-2 yrs alone from someone who was so ambition-driven in a self-serving manner. most, if not all of these kids were meant to thrive in environments of supremacy and competition, to forcing themselves to be someone who is altruistic not just for survival, but because they are allowing themselves to outwardly care for a change because in their heart, they know that is good and right and who they are.
you could see it so clearly when jordan / marie / emma were deliberating on whether to go save cate or not, and how their resignation was literally pitting nature vs. nurture. their nature, to care, to be good, to help. yet nurtured to protect oneself, to rise, to only aid those who can get you somewhere and to condemn those who have hurt you.
one of the very few things about jordan that i wish they would expand on more is having more hopeful scenes w/ london. a lot of the lightheartedness seems to be given to derek a lot, which is fine and i enjoy his comedic timing, but london's jordan, especially in that scene in an earlier episode with sam, is so insightful and comforting in a way that feels very authentic to jordan's realism vs. idealism. it's just so raw, and real, and a lil sarcastic which i adore sm.
jordan only fears change so much because that is exactly the thing that was instilled in them to fear. the rigidity and lack of nuance and fluidity paul and kayla approached jordan's upbringing had so much of a backlash that any form of change, big or small, makes them feel powerless. weak. change, to jordan, has been treated as both a spectacle (in terms of their gender identity and fluidity, as well as their continuous successes and achievements that have been ripped away just as fast as they were given) and a tragedy, neither of which are positive reinforcements of the inherent ebb and flow of life.
jordan being the only one in the friend group who knows how to drive makes so much sense to me bc it is like, that hollywood teenage dream of having a car and finding so much freedom and independence in just being able to escape. especially being at home with paul and kayla, just having a means of getting away must have been so integral to their mental health and finally allowed them to feel like something was finally theirs?
