--- Sleepover sweetness ---
Ian Hecox X Reader (pure fluff, est relationship)
A/N: ty for the req anon! hope this fullfilled the ian sized hole in your heart <3
The set looked like chaos in the best way possible. Bright string lights framed the set, beanbags and sleeping bags were scattered across the floor, and a frankly concerning number of snack bowls covered every flat surface.
It was exactly the kind of content Smosh thrived on - twelve hours of sleep deprived energy, live and unscripted.
And you? You were trying very hard not to let your nerves show.
You’d been at Smosh for a few months now, and while you weren’t exactly a rookie anymore, being in front of the camera still tied your stomach in knots. The chat moved at lightning speed, thousands of people commenting on your every laugh and glance.
A few months ago, Ian had just been your boss. Funny, sharp, kind, but never anyone you would've ever thought of in any romantic sense, he was someone you respected, someone you never thought about beyond work, your boss. Then somewhere between late-night brainstorms and coffee runs, the lines blurred. He wasn’t just “Ian from Smosh” anymore. He was Ian who made you laugh so hard you nearly spat out your drink. Ian who stayed after shoots just to talk about newly released music he knew you were excited about. Ian who kissed you one night in the parking lot with a nervousness that matched your own.
Now you were in this weird, delicate place: Officially, he was your boss. Technically, he was your boyfriend. Nobody in chat knew, but the crew and cast were aware - supportive, even - but that didn’t make it easier. And now, on a live sleepover stream? Every little interaction felt like a neon sign pointing to your secret.
The stream began with chaos: Shayne reading off a reddit story in an over-the-top voice while Damien dramatically yawned into a pillow.
You were tucked into the couch corner, Ian beside you, knees brushing. The chat immediately noticed.
smoshjosh101: “Omg Ian and Y/N next to each other 👀”
olivia67cat: “new duo?? or new ship???”
arashaismygirl: “they’re so cozy this is SO not platonic”
You bit back a laugh as you saw the comments roll in on the monitor beside you.
Eventually after the reddit stories dialed down Courtney started reading superchat messages out loud while Damien riffed off each one. You sat with your hoodie sleeves pulled over your hands, sipping from a soda can to keep your fidgeting subtle.
“You look nervous,” Damien whispered at one point, elbowing you from the floor directly infront of you with a smirk. “Do I?” you whispered back, eyes wide.
“Relax. Everyone’s too distracted by Anthony trying to fit in a sleeping bag to notice.”
Sure enough, Anthony was halfway inside a tiny child-sized bag, the chat exploding with “LMAO” and “this man is gonna dislocate a shoulder.”
You laughed - and it helped a little.
Beside you, Ian leaned closer, voice low enough not to carry to the mics. “You’re fine. Promise.” It was such a simple reassurance, but your pulse jumped anyway. You nodded, biting back a smile.
By hour three, the snack taste-test segment had begun. Keith was blindfolded, trying to guess different chip brands while everyone shouted unhelpful hints.
You had a bowl of candy on your lap. Without thinking, you offered one to Ian. He leaned in, taking it straight from your hand instead of the bowl. His lips brushed your knuckle by accident - or maybe not entirely by accident.
Your breath caught, but you played it off with a smirk. “Really? Not gonna use your own hand like a normal person?”
“Too far away,” he deadpanned, chewing in his classic Ian humor.
The chat erupted.
chatterbox23: “IAN JUST ATE OUT OF Y/N’S HAND HELLO??”
ummdamienhass: “someone clip that PLEASE!”
chat: “besties fr 😭”
Angela and Amanda who were sitting a few feet away both turned around to look at you like they was about to say something but caught your warning glance and just grinned at eachother instead.
The chaos had dulled into lazy chatter. Half the group sprawled across beanbags, some wandering off for food. You stayed on the couch, fighting a losing battle against your eyelids.
Ian scrolled through his phone, the glow soft on his face.
“You okay?” he murmured. “Mm. Just tired.”
“Then lean.” He didn’t even look up, just shifted subtly closer. Cameras. Chat. Everyone’s watching, your brain screamed.
But Courtney’s advice she had given you earlier before the stream started when you confessed your nerves about how to act echoed in your head: just do what you’d do if there weren’t cameras.
So you let your head drop onto his shoulder. The couch dipped as he tilted slightly toward you, steadying your weight. His arm brushed yours, warm through the blanket.
Chat exploded.
shourtneyshipper49: “Y/N DOWN 💀”
catypaulson: “Ian’s shoulder pillow”
myboitrev: “can't tell if they are best friends or lovers (ianthony refrence)”
Nobody on set teased. Maybe they knew better. Maybe they liked watching the chat spiral.
And Ian? He didn’t move. Just stayed still, solid, safe. Every now and then his thumb tapped lightly against your sleeve - just enough that you knew he was aware, that he wanted you comfortable.
Your nerves melted, replaced with something softer.
By the ninth hour, everyone was drunk with exhaustion. Arasha was trying to braid Spencers hair, and Trevor was narrating everything like a sports event.
You were curled in the blanket, still tucked against Ian. At some point he’d pulled it higher over both your shoulders, his arm pressing to your side.
“Y/N,” Ian murmured suddenly, tilting his head toward the snack bowl. “Trade me?” You blinked. “Trade you what?”
He grinned faintly. “Your candy for my pretzels. I don't like these.”
You rolled your eyes, swapping bowls making a sly comment about how he 'acts like such a child'
You hid your laugh in the blanket as the chat started repeating your goofy insalt. Ian pretended not to notice, but his smile didn’t fade.
The crew cheered as the 12 hour timer finally hit zero. People stretched, unplugged cords, and gathered their stuff.
You blinked awake, realizing with a jolt that your head was still on Ian’s shoulder. “Oh my god,” you muttered, sitting up. “Sorry, I-”
“Don’t.” His voice was steady, soft. He gave you a look that steadied your heart faster than any apology could. “You were fine.”
You smiled, tired and warm. “Guess I owe you for being my pillow.” His mouth quirked. “Guess you do."
And maybe the cameras had caught too much. Maybe fans would clip moments and would dissect every glance, every brush of hands. But really, would that be that bad?
Because when you looked at Ian now, you knew - some things were too important to hide.
Summary: Y/n is a judge in the FBI challenge and sees Ian in a new light when he is a sweaty mess
A.N: Hey yall! Haven’t posted in a while and this idea just popped into my head so well.. here you go!
Warnings: Smut-ish?, fluff
Word count: 2k
————————————————————————
You had been working at Smosh for a few months as an editor and a cast-mate, loving your workplace and your colleagues. The larger chunk of your friends you had found at Smosh. You had been growing close to many of your colleagues, more so Angela and Ian. Especially Ian. The two of you had immediately bonded over your immature humor and had been close ever since. Almost all people at Smosh and everyone in the comments shipped you and Ian, saying you two would make a great couple and pointing out how close you were. They weren’t exactly wrong, with the closeness that is. You would often sit close to him, thighs and shoulders touching while he’d show you some stupid video he found on instagram. Sometimes you’d fall asleep on his shoulder after a long work day and he’d drive you home to your apartment. You were really good friends. That was all. There wasn’t anything more, why would there be?
You knew that if you’d want to spend your life with one person you’d want it to be someone like Ian, who looked and acted like he did. But you didn’t want to date Ian! He was just a close friend that you spent a lot of time with.
————————————————————————
Today Shayne, Courtney, Marcus, Spencer and Ian would be shooting a ‘FBI challenge’, competing in various categories that would determine if they would beat the FBI test or not. There was supposed to be a guest referee who’d be joining all of them, but they had canceled last minute, haven’t gotten sick out of nowhere.
That resulted in you joining in, now being the new referee. You happily accepted the role because you didn’t have a lot of stuff to do this particular day, and also because you would get to see your friends sweat and be miserable. A win-win.
Before you started shooting you realized how cold it was outside. It was mid October but you figured a long sleeve under the referee shirt would be enough. Well, you were wrong. It was absolutely freezing outside and you tried to envelope yourself with your arms to find some sort of heat.
Ian saw this, and without a word he removed his jacket and handed it to you. You looked up at him confused. “I’m really warm.”, he said without you even having to say anything.
“You sure?”, you asked immediately.
“Take it.”, he responded, a smile tugging at the corner of his lips.
You took the jacket and put it on. The warmth of it enveloped you and it smelled just like Ian, something that shouldn’t excite you as much as it did.
————————————————————————
The shoot began and Shayne started with the intro, explaining how the whole process would be.
“Today we’re doing the FBI challenge. We will be competing in four different categories and our goal is to get a minimum of 12 points! But you have to be good because otherwise you can get negative points! Our referee today who will check our every mistake is Y/n!”
You jumped into frame, looking more serious than you had to.
“That’s right. So don’t try to cheat!”, you said, pointing a finger in Ian’s face. He acted scared and you tried your best not to smile, biting down on your tongue.
The first game started, sit ups. Spencer went first and then Courtney. They all were good and to be honest, they impressed you. You weren’t a very athletic person yourself so it was safe to say you were glad to be a referee.
It was Ian’s turn and you couldn’t help but check him out a little. Not in a ‘I want to kiss you so bad’ way, rather a ‘I’m checking to see how many sit up’s you can do until you die’ way. He ended up doing a decent amount.
Next was push ups. Spencer started again and you stood close next to Ian, still feeling very cold. You had to take off his jacket while recording so that your referee shirt would be visible. That unfortunately meant you would be freezing for a while.
Ian was very warm, like extremely warm. He had just been doing sit ups, which made his entire body radiate warmth. You stepped a little closer and whispered, “damn you’re hot.”, not realizing how wrong that sounded.
He looked at you with a shocked expression, eyes wide and cheeks a little flushed. You gave him a confused look before quickly realizing what you had said sounded like.
“I mean you’re warm. Not hot. Not that you’re not hot, I just. You’re warm.”, you said, stumbling over your words and trying to get rid of the blush on your cheeks. He laughed a little at that, the sound heating up your face.
He stepped a little closer and wrapped an arm around your waist. “I can warm you up.”, he whispered, looking at you nervously, like he wasn’t sure if what he had said was okay or not.
You just leaned into his touch and let his warmth consume you.
Now it was his turn to go. He let go of you and the feeling made it feel like you were missing a piece that was supposed to be there. Almost as if you weren’t whole.
He went down onto the mattress and threw his glasses to the side. “The glasses are off for this one.”, he said as he arched his back slightly, making everyone go ‘ooooh’ and ‘aaaaah’. He started strong but once up into his thirties, he started shaking. He let out heavy breaths and almost whimpered. The view made your knees weak and your hands clammy. Jesus it should not excite you that much. But it did. Your brain immediately went to places it shouldn’t. Him out of breath and whimpery as you laid together in his bed, him caressing your body as you moaned underneath him.
You didn’t even realize you were staring until Courtney nudged your shoulder. They looked at you with a big grin.
“You know it’s rude to stare right? Especially in a way that says ‘I want to have your babies’.”
You quickly elbowed her side and gave her a death glare. You knew that they wouldn’t have the mics on for this bit but you still couldn’t help but feel nervous and embarrassed. “I’m not staring. Especially not in a way that says ‘I want to have your babies’!”
Ian looked at you cluelessly as he stepped up from the mattress, seemingly exhausted. “That was tough. I want to lay down and die.”, he said with a tired laugh. You just gave him a smile and looked over at Courtney, who was still grinning and moving their eyebrows up and down in a mocking manner. Once again you shot her a glare before looking back at Ian again. He had mindlessly draped his arm over your shoulders and the two of you stood close together. You almost hated to admit it but in a way, you could stand like this forever.
————————————————————————
The next challenge was Pull ups. You were especially glad you didn’t have to do this one. To say you couldn’t do one was an understatement. You were pretty sure that you wouldn’t even be able to lift yourself off the ground.
Spencer went first, managing to do two while climbing the air. Next was Ian. He stood and reached his arms up, gripping onto the pole with his hands. The shirt he was wearing was a little tight, and a little too small. This caused a sliver of stomach being visible. You told yourself not to look, you really shouldn’t. He was just your friend. Nothing more. But you looked, and oh how it turned you on. You felt like a Victorian man seeing a woman’s ankle. His happy trail led down to the beginning of his shorts, which made you wonder what it looked like underneath.
You quickly shook yourself out of your inappropriate thoughts and snapped back to the situation. Ian began to do pull ups, biting down on his bottom lip as he pulled himself up. This didn’t help with your mental state at all. Your mind was running wild with all kinds of thoughts and images, ones you would never want anyone to know, not even yourself.
He hopped down after four but the damage was already done. Your brain was infected. Someone had hit a switch and you couldn’t turn it off. You had feelings for Ian, that fact was pretty much clear now, whether you wanted it to be or not.
He came to stand next to you again but you didn’t even look his way. You couldn’t. If you did you were pretty sure you’d reach up and kiss him (not that that sounded very unappealing right now). You stood still, looking everywhere but him. You were acting weird, he noticed. Of course he noticed. Anyone with at least one eye could see that you were acting weird.
————————————————————————
The last challenge was running. You liked to run, or you tolerated it to be more exact. You saw how Ian was looking at you. It was almost as he thought he had done something to upset you. This obviously wasn’t true. Ian was the kindest, sweetest man you knew. He was a little immature sure, but never mean.
You were stood at the cooling table, waiting for them to run by so you could give them water. Ian and Marcus was in the lead and in the last two laps Ian was far ahead. You had no idea he was a good runner. He didn’t exactly strike as a person who could run. On his last lap he came up to the table to drink some water. He chugged down two cardboard cups.
“I didn’t know you were a sprinter.”, you said with a small laugh.
“There’s a lot you don’t know about me.”, he said jokingly, acting as if he was a murderer, or something in that manner.
You laughed at that and suddenly felt a little bold. Why? No clue. Maybe the cold had gotten to your nerves. You waved your finger, motioning for him to come closer. He looked a little confused but did as you motioned him to do. Once he was a few inches away from your face you grabbed onto his cheeks and gave him a kiss. His eyebrows shot up and his eyes widened, but he quickly kissed you back, his face following yours as you pulled away.
You both breathed heavily, despite him being the only one who had been running. He smiled at you, and you returned with a soft one of your own.
“Go win now!”, you said enthusiastically and he looked at you a moment longer before heading off again. He won the race but he didn’t win the entire challenge, not that that was the thing anyone was thinking about right now. No one besides maybe Brennan had seen you two kiss, but they could sense something was off. There was something in the air, which the main character would say in a corny love story.
————————————————————————
After the shoot had ended, you and Ian quietly walked to his car (he often drove you to and home from shoots). The tension laid thick between you but no one said anything, not until you got into the car. Before you even had a chance to put your seatbelt on his hands were on you. He pulled you into his lap and kissed you hungrily. You quickly kissed him back, hands gripping onto his shirt as you pulled him closer. He put his hands on your waist as you both pulled away, breathing heavily.
“I’ve been waiting to do that since I first met you.”, Ian said, looking into your eyes in a way you had never seen before. He looked in love.
“Really?”, you asked, a small laugh escaping your lips.
“Really.”, he replied, pulling you in for a kiss again.
Your lips were just about to melt into each other when you heard a loud sound from outside the car window.
“I KNEW IT!”, Courtney shouted as Shayne stood beside them, giving you both two big thumbs up.
You just collapsed into Ian’s shoulder and burst into laughter as he waved to the audience.
“We’re screwed tomorrow.”, you said with a groan.
“Not if I screw you first.”,

Hello everyone I hoped you enjoyed this! I just felt a sudden urge to write this because Ian doesn’t get enough fics. Love yall <333
Series Summary: You were sent undercover to infiltrate the world of the most dangerous mob boss on the FBI’s list, Spencer Agnew. But the more you find out about him, the more you lose yourself.
Series Warnings: Mature themes that include emotional manipulation, psychological tension, dubious consent, morally grey relationships, violence, organized crime, and mild language.
A full year since the mission collapsed. Since the fire, the betrayal, the heartbreak. Since your name was erased from every Bureau record and your life as you knew it was scorched down to ash.
You had changed your name to something forgettable.
Something soft, something with no sharp edges. Something that wouldn’t flag any system or trigger any watchlist. Something quiet.
There was no more Agent Dahlia. No more Elise Hawthorne. Just you and a simple name. The kind of name no one remembers.
That was the point.
You were a ghost now, even while breathing.
The town you now lived in was barely on the map. A forgotten patch of road where time moved slower, where no one asked questions, and nothing important ever happened.
There was one main road that went right through the center of the town, two stop lights that only worked half the time, and a single corner diner that had terrible coffee and was closed on Sundays. The town was so small that if you blinked, you would miss it.
You worked at the only bookstore. The only one for fifty miles. It was always filled floor to ceiling with used books. It smelled like mildew and history and the faint perfume of mothballs that never quite left the walls. You liked it. Or at least, you didn’t hate it.
You volunteered to work the night shifts. Your boss, who might have been ninety or two hundred, happily gave them to you.
You would come in a couple hours before closing, help your boss tidy up, and then close the store by yourself. You interacted with the least amount of people this way, and that is just how you liked it. After closing, you would pass time by wiping down the counter, sweeping the already spotless floor, and reshelving the same books that no one had touched in years.
No one bothered you.
No one recognized you.
That, too, was the point.
After work, you would walk home along the cracked sidewalk, one hand on the pepper spray in your coat pocket. Old habits died harder than you thought.
Your government-assigned apartment was small. You lived above a nearly abandoned antique shop that hadn’t had a customer since you moved in. The landlord was nearly deaf, which suited you just fine. When you cried at night, he never heard.
He knew something was wrong, but he would never press for information. He would just look at you with big, sad eyes, and would bring you homemade soup once a week. He never questioned why you were there, and never asked why your rent came from a bank in a different state.
You had neighbors too. Just a very sweet older couple who lived across the hall. They were kind, always smiling and waving when they saw you. You thought that you might remind them of their granddaughter.
They would bring you cookies on holidays and asked nothing in return. You were grateful for them. You just couldn’t make yourself accept kindness. Not anymore.
You were polite. Smiling when necessary. They were the only people you would speak to, if only briefly.
But they didn’t know your name. No one did. Not your real one. Not the ones that came before.
They never would.
You hadn’t spoken to anyone else in over twelve months. No one from your mission. No one from the Bureau. Not even Marlowe.
Your security clearance was burned. Your credentials were void. Your name, once feared, now didn’t even register on the system.
You had disappeared.
And the world had let you.
The bracelet was the only thing that kept you grounded. The slender gold chain with its shine half-faded from wear. It lived on your wrist like a second skin.
You touched it often. It was a lifeline back to a world you couldn’t prove had ever really existed.
Sometimes, you thought you made it all up. The missions. The lies. The love.
Him.
Spencer.
You didn’t speak his name aloud anymore. Not even in dreams.
But his voice, his eyes. They never left you.
Every night you would collapse into your bed after working in the bookstore, lose the fight with sleep, and the nightmares would come without your consent.
Every night.
He would haunt you.
He would just look at you.
With those eyes.
The ones that looked at you like a weapon, a lover, a betrayal.
The ones that flinched when he realized what you were.
The ones that couldn’t look at you when you finally told him the truth.
The nightmares were worst in the beginning.
You were strapped to the chair again. Blood-soaked and suffocating. Screaming for Spencer. He would just stand at the door. Watching. Then turning away.
You’d wake up clawing at your throat, sweat soaking the sheets. The scar on your shoulder would throb like a pulse.
Then the dreams shifted.
Softer. Slower. Crueler.
Still a nightmare.
You were in his bed again. His arms around you. His breath warm against your neck. He’d whisper your name, your real name, and you’d cry into his shoulder, because for a few fleeting moments, you believed it.
You believed he was still yours.
And then you’d wake up.
Alone.
Those were the worst.
Because they didn’t feel like dreams.
They felt like loss.
You told yourself they were nothing. Leftover grief.
But the ache didn’t go away.
Not during daylight. Not when you looked in the mirror and barely recognized the woman staring back.
You stopped sleeping at all after a while. Just lay there, eyes open, waiting for the sun to rise so you could put yourself back in motion.
You expected the nightmares to break you. They didn’t. The waking did.
It started small.
You glanced up in the bookstore and swore you saw someone in a dark coat. A flash of curls. A shadow lingering just a second too long. You had looked away before realizing what you had seen.
Your heart jumped. Your head turned, hope blooming in your chest.
But when you looked again, they were gone.
That fleeting hope shattered to pieces.
You told yourself it was nothing. Sleep deprivation. Nightmares. Wishful thinking. Ghosts.
Until it happened again.
And again.
In the grocery store. You passed an aisle, seeing the all too familiar slope of his shoulders. You would spin around on the spot, dash back to where you saw him in the corner of your eye, only to be met by an empty store and rows of canned vegetables.
Walking across the street. You would glance up on your walk home, seeing a figure standing under the flickering street lamp. You would pick up your pace, wanting to run to him, only to find the spot empty when you arrived.
In the mirror. You washed your face in the bathroom after waking from a nightmare. Your face had been wet, stained with tears you didn’t know you had been shedding. You pulled back from the sink to see him. You looked around only for no one to be there.
Every time it happened, your pulse would stutter. Every time, your heart would ache with a hope you hated yourself for.
Until one night, it nearly undid you.
You were nearly finished with your late night shift in the bookstore. You were shelving books. The shop was quiet. Too quiet. And then-
Footsteps.
Soft. Steady. Familiar.
You turned. Unable to still the thumping of your heart.
He was there.
Spencer.
Standing just inside the door, looking exactly how you remembered him. His dark hair curled gently across his forehead. He was in a black fitted suit, not a single wrinkle across the fabric. His hands were loose at his sides, unmoving.
His eyes were tired, but they were looking at you like you were the only thing in the world that made sense.
The books you were holding tumbled from your hands.
You didn’t care.
Tears sprang to your eyes.
He was here.
Here.
Spencer.
Your Spencer.
You didn’t think.
You just ran.
“Spencer, I-”
But when your arms warped around him, there was no body.
No breath.
No warmth.
Just air.
Just… nothing.
Spencer wasn’t here.
You hit the floor hard, bruising your knees. You didn’t notice the pain.
It was nothing compared to the gaping hole in your heart.
You wept.
You curled into yourself, sobbing, arms shaking from where they’d reached for someone who wasn’t there. You stayed there until the lights clicked off overhead.
You told yourself that was the last time.
You were losing your mind.
You had to stop.
You had to stop looking for him.
But the next night, when you passed the bakery window and saw his reflection, you still turned.
Still hoping.
Still grieving.
Still in love.
And every night, when you made it home, when the door was locked and the lights off, you’d sit by your window with the bracelet pinched between your fingers.
You’d close your eyes and force yourself to remember the truth. To remember what really happened.
You remembered the gun in his hand.
And how he pointed it at you.
He was going to shoot you. Kill you.
But then he walked away.
Why had he hesitated?
You thought that had meant he cared for you. That he didn’t want you dead.
But he had left you alone in that room with Alex. And Alex had been about to kill you on Spencer’s behalf.
You told yourself each night that it meant Spencer didn’t love you. That hesitating truly didn’t mean anything. That if Spencer had truly cared, he would’ve come back to save you.
Some nights, you convinced yourself you should go find him. You wanted to track him down. Finish what you started. Hear from his lips that he did not love you.
But you never did.
Because every time you almost believed in him-
You remembered the explosion.
You remembered waking up in a Bureau hospital, your file with the final word: DISCHARGED.
And you remembered what Marlowe said:
He left you.He ran.He left you to burn.
That night, you sat in the shower with your clothes still on. The water ran cold long before you moved.
You’re losing it.
He’s not coming.
You stared at your reflection in the bathroom mirror. Eyes hollow, jaw tight, hair stuck to your skin in tangled strands. You touched the bracelet on your wrist like it might explain the hallucination, like maybe it had summoned him, conjured him from grief.
The next morning, you told yourself it really was the last time. You wouldn’t chase shadows anymore. You wouldn’t mistake memory for presence. You wouldn’t let yourself hope.
He wasn’t coming.
Spencer Agnew did not love you. He never had.
You were sure now.
So you buried your memories of Spencer. Somewhere deep and dark in the corner of your mind. Buried it beneath routine, beneath silence, beneath your own aching denial.
You got up. Went to work. Smiled politely. Took inventory. Pushed forward.
But still something lingered…
You tried to ignore it at first.
Just a flicker in your periphery. A prickle on the back of your neck. A rustle of leaves where there shouldn't be. The scuff of a boot against pavement just a beat too late behind your own.
Nothing.
Right?
You were tired. Fragile. Still healing.
Just trauma, you told yourself. Just leftover nerves.
But that didn’t explain the car.
A beat-up black sedan rolled down your street slowly, engine low and steady. You watched it through the blinds, every nerve in your body alert. The glass of your window trembled faintly under your palm. The car didn’t stop.
Not that time.
Three days later, it did.
It parked at the corner across from your apartment. Always just out of reach. You stared through the peephole in your door for a full five minutes. Waiting for movement.
No one came out of the car.
It sat there for over an hour. Just... idling.
You paced your apartment, twitchy and unsettled. You made your rounds in your home, making sure the doors and the windows were locked. Twice. When you finally checked again, the car was gone.
But the feeling wasn’t.
The next night, it happened again.
Same car. Same parking spot. Same silence.
Then a shape inside the bookstore.
A man would stand at the philosophy shelf for twenty minutes without touching a single title. He never made eye contact. Bought nothing. Said nothing.
You were sweeping the floors, keeping track of him out of the corner of your eye, when he would suddenly start in your direction.
You raised the broom, gripping the handle like a weapon. But he was already out the door, the bell announcing his exit.
The next day you bumped into someone on the sidewalk, a stranger in a baseball cap. When you turned to apologize, he was already gone.
Just… gone.
You’d try to shake it off. You’d laugh under your breath, bitter and breathless, you’re just being paranoid. Your mind is playing tricks, your trauma is manifesting in new shapes.
Sometimes you even said it aloud just to hear one voice in the room. Just to ground yourself in something real.
But the pit in your stomach never eased.
You knew better than most: when your instincts whispered, you listened. You knew what surveillance looked like. What a soft tail felt like. This wasn’t a coincidence.
You took precautions. The bookstore didn’t feel safe anymore. You rearranged the furniture near the front register so your back was never to the door, and you would have a clear exit.
You walked home on different routes each night. Switched up your hours. Kept a box cutter in your coat pocket instead of the usual pepper spray. Slept with your door locked and a kitchen knife on your bedside table.
But the feeling didn’t go away. That buzz. That sixth sense you never could shut off. And that was when you knew:
Someone was watching you.
And even though you were scared, a part of you felt something else too. Something cold and aching, like anticipation.
You were trained for this.
So you waited. Waited for the stalker to make a move.
And when it came, it didn’t come as a person.
It came as a message.
You found it four days later.
You were coming home from the bookstore, dusk already falling. The light was gold and sharp and strange. The kind that made the world feel suspended in amber.
You climbed the cracked concrete stairs to your apartment, keys already in hand, when your eye caught something on the floor just outside your door.
A small, matte black envelope.
Your breath caught.
It was just resting on your welcome mat like a curse.
Your pulse quickened. You glanced down the hallway. Empty. Silent. The light above flickered once and then steadied.
You stared at it for a long time. It didn’t disappear. With trembling fingers, you picked it up.
It was thick. Expensive. No stamp. No return address.
Just one faint symbol embossed in glossy ink on the seal.
A knight chess piece.
Your blood ran cold.
Hands trembling, you tore the envelope open.
Inside was a single card. No threats. No explanations.
There were only four words, written in clean, deliberate script:
He never stopped looking.
Your heart stopped.
You didn’t need a signature. You didn’t need a return address. You knew that handwriting. Knew it like you knew fear.
Alex Tran.
You stood frozen on your doorstep, the card clutched in your fist. For a full minute, you didn’t breathe. Then you turned and bolted inside, slamming the door behind you. You locked it. Deadbolt. Chain. Every latch.
Your heart was thunder in your ears.
It couldn’t be real.
You stared at the card again, reading the words over and over like they might vanish.
Alex knew where you were.
You sank to the floor, spine pressed against the wood.
Alex was here.
And in that moment, you knew, you weren’t paranoid.
The envelope never left your side. You read it so many times you started to see the words even with your eyes closed. The knight chess piece stamped into the card stared back like it knew something you didn’t.
He never stopped looking.
Your thoughts and mind were clouded with smoke. You wandered burning buildings. Walked empty halls. Heard voices echoing around you. Sometimes it was Marlowe, whispering traitor. Sometimes it was Spencer, whispering I’m sorry.
By morning, your knuckles were white around your coffee mug. You didn’t eat. Couldn’t.
You considered leaving. Just packing a bag and disappearing into the world again. To be anywhere but here. Because if Alex had found you, who else could?
But you didn’t run. Not this time.
You were tired of running.
So you stayed.
And waited.
It happened three nights later.
You came home after a double shift at the bookstore, rainwater soaking your coat, your fingers numb from gripping the box cutter in your coat pocket too tightly. You were so tired your eyes burned. You didn’t bother locking the door behind you when you stepped inside.
You should have.
There was no knock. No warning. Just a subtle change in the air. You were in the kitchen, staring blankly at the kettle you were willing yourself to turn on, when your instincts flared. The air changed, and got heavier.
Then the smell hit: leather and cologne. Not Spencer’s. But familiar.
You turned slowly. The room behind you was silent. Still.
And then a voice from the shadows:
“You look like shit.”
You spun fast, already reaching for the knife block, when he stepped forward into the sliver of light from the hallway.
Alex.
In the flesh. Standing in your apartment. Like he belonged there. Dressed in black. Hands clasped in front of him. Relaxed, but only in that terrifying way snakes rest before striking.
“I’d put that down if I were you,” Alex noticed the butcher’s knife clenched in your fist.
You didn’t speak. Didn’t breathe. You just stared at him like he was a mirage.
He looked the same. Same sharp eyes, same guarded expression, same unflinching cold, but there was something else now. Something heavier in the way he carried himself. A tension he didn’t bother to hide.
You took one step back.
“Get out,” you said.
Alex didn’t move.
“Not until you hear me out.”
“No.”
“You owe me that.”
You scoffed. “I owe you nothing.”
He took a measured step toward you. “You’re wrong.”
“What do you want?” You raised the knife.
He tilted his head. “To talk.”
“Liar.”
He smiled. Slight. Unkind. “You always were sharp. No wonder he loved you.”
You stiffened. “Don’t say that.”
Alex studied you like you were an enemy behind glass. But then something shifted in his eyes. Something almost like regret.
“It’s the truth.”
And that was it.
Whatever had been holding your heart together, gave way.
The dam burst.
You exploded.
“You think showing up here is some kind of twisted kindness?” Your voice cracked, raw and aching. “You think dropping a damn note on my doorstep makes up for what you did?”
Alex’s jaw tightened. “I didn’t kill you.”
“No. You just drugged me, shot me, and left me in a building wired to explode.” You advanced on him, tears burning hot in your eyes and the knife gleaming in the evening light. “And then you let him think I was dead.”
“He already thought you were.”
You stopped. Your heart lurched.
“What?”
Alex held your gaze. “He thought you were dead before I ever pulled the trigger.”
You swallowed. Hard.
“No. He ordered my execution,” you said quietly. “He knew what he was doing. I was in the room. I saw him turn his back.”
“He did, I will admit that.” Alex shrugged. “But he considered the woman he loved to be dead the moment he read your file. He was going to kill you. But he hesitated.”
You laughed bitterly. “Wow. What a romantic gesture.”
“I’ve seen him kill people for less, you know that,” Alex snapped. “But with you? He broke the second you confessed to him in his office. He looked at you like you ruined him. Because you did.”
Your breath hitched.
“He didn’t come back.” you spat, trying to regain control of the conversation.
“I didn’t let him.”
Your blood ran cold.
“What?”
“I made your death a reality. It was the only way to get him out.” Alex’s voice was steady now. Low. Controlled. “I told him we had to go. That the building wasn’t safe. That if he went back, he’d die too.”
Your knees weakened, but you didn’t sit.
“He wouldn’t have left you otherwise,” Alex added, almost gently. “You know that. And he listened. For once, he listened. But he never forgave me for it.”
You blinked. “Why are you telling me this now?”
Alex took something from his coat pocket. The envelope. Another one. Same black paper. Same seal.
He held it out.
You didn’t take it.
“He’s different now,” Alex said. “Changed. We all are. But he never stopped looking for you.”
“I don’t believe you.”
“I don’t care.”
You stepped back. “Is that what this is? Some second-chance recruitment pitch? You want to drag me back into the fire and watch me burn for real this time?”
“No,” he said. “Spencer doesn’t know I’m here.”
That hit you like a slap.
“I don’t understand.”
“I found you on my own,” Alex said. “I needed to know if there was anything left of you. If I’d made the right choice leaving you behind.”
“And?”
His face didn’t change.
“You’re still standing.”
You turned away from him. Your hands shook. You put the knife down on the kitchen table.
“I don’t want this,” you whispered. “I don’t want you here. And I don’t want him.”
“You’re lying.”
You spun back around. “You don’t get to tell me what I feel.”
“I know what you feel.” His tone was flat. “I watched you tell me. That night. In the chair.”
Silence.
He stepped forward again. “I didn’t believe you then. But I do now.”
Your breath caught.
Alex looked at you. Really looked. The way you imagined Spencer used to.
You stared at him, heart pounding. Alex just placed the envelope down on your kitchen table, on top of your discarded butcher’s knife.
“I’m not giving you an invitation,” Alex said, stepping past you toward the door. “I’m giving you the choice.”
“I don’t trust you,” you said. “I don’t trust any of you.”
“I wouldn’t either,” he said quietly. “But I had to try.”
Alex opened the door halfway, then paused.
“I didn’t like you. I still don’t.” He looked back over his shoulder. “But he did. More than anyone.
And then he left. Alex was gone.
You stood alone in your kitchen, staring at the door long after it shut.
You thought about burning it. You thought about opening it. You thought about throwing it in the river that sliced through the edge of town.
Instead, you left it on your kitchen table, like a wound you refused to clean.
The dreams got worse.
Not violent, not loud. Just aching. Spencer in the passenger seat. Spencer leaning against your doorway. Spencer laughing at something you said and looking at you like you were the last good thing in a world full of rot.
And then, always: flames. Smoke. A bullet ripping through your shoulder. Spencer’s voice, calling your name, but always too late.
You stopped trying to sleep. You had to get away from the dreams.
Your neighbors asked if you were okay. You lied.
You always lied.
Until you couldn’t.
The breaking point came on a Thursday. You were nursing a now cold cup of tea, just staring at the black envelope. It was covered in crumbs and coffee stains.
You couldn’t find the strength to get rid of it.
It seemed to be calling you.
A sweet melodic sound, begging you to open it.
You couldn’t resist the siren song.
You put down your cup, reaching for the black paper. You had to know what was inside. Was it a trap? Alex had put something inside to finish the job? Or had he been telling the truth? Giving you a one-way ticket back to the man you loved.
You tore open the paper, finding a card similar to the one you had received days ago. But this time there wasn’t a message.
There was just a date.
Today.
No time. No address. No signature. Just the knowledge in your bones that you were meant to return somewhere. And you knew exactly where to go.
You called in sick to work. You packed a bag, barely packed anything. Just your coat, the bracelet still on your wrist.
And just like that, you left the little town behind and drove toward the wreckage of your former life.
It had been a year. Since the fire. Since your confession. Since Spencer.
The building was still there. Or what was left of it. The old Agnew Syndicate base had been reduced to scorched concrete and shattered rebar. A few charred beams still jutted up from the rubble like ribs of a broken beast. The security systems gutted, and there was no trace of the men who once guarded it.
And in the middle of it all: silence.
Just like your apartment.
You stepped out of the car slowly, each step crunching glass and ash beneath your boots. The air smelled faintly of soot and damp earth. You pulled your coat tighter around your body and stepped into the graveyard of your past.
The foundation of the building still held its shape, like a skeleton trying to remember its body. You passed through the ghost of the main entrance, your eyes catching on the scorched frame of a doorway, the twisted remains of the entrance to Spencer’s basement office.
You let your hand brush a wall that no longer stood.
Images flooded back. Shards of memory sharp enough to bleed:
Spencer standing in his office, leaning against his desk, watching you with a smile he gave no one else.
The chair where you were restrained. The gun in his hand. The moment he let you go.
And the moment he didn’t come back.
You swallowed hard. The ache bloomed in your chest like it always did.
There was nothing here.
Just smoke, memory, and your own foolishness.
Still, you didn’t leave.
You continued to walk the ruins, finding exactly where the interrogation chamber had been. The room had once been hidden behind reinforced steel and cement. Now it was open sky.
You stopped, looking down into the pit. You closed your eyes, letting it all return to you.
His voice. His eyes. The pain in his expression when he realized what you were. The heartbreak when he believed you were dead.
He didn’t come back.
He didn’t save you.
You opened your eyes and whispered, “I forgive you.”
The wind stirred. You let it carry the words. You meant them. You had to.
And then you turned to leave.
And stopped.
A man stood at the edge of the wreckage.
A figure in a dark coat. A shadow against the setting sun. Standing silent and still, like a shadow cut from the past.
You froze.
Your heart slammed against your ribs. No. Not again.
Not another hallucination.
Not here.
You blinked hard. “No, no, no…”
He didn’t vanish.
You took a step forward. Then another.
He was tall. Solid. Alive.
But your brain had betrayed you before. It had conjured Spencer in your apartment, in the bookstore, in your dreams, in the corners of rooms that were never full. It was always your imagination. Always a lie.
“Go away,” you whispered to yourself, eyes burning. “You’re not real.”
The figure stayed. But he didn’t speak. Just stood there. Still. Watching you.
You walked forward slowly.
Step by step. Dust crunching beneath your boots.
The figure didn’t move.
Not until you were a few feet away.
Then… he stepped forward.
Slowly. Carefully. Like you were a deer about to bolt.
His coat billowed in the breeze. His eyes, dark and wide, locked on yours with something between disbelief and devastation.
“...You’re alive,” he said.
You didn’t breathe.
“Spencer?” You could barely whisper his name.
He took another step. “I-” His voice broke. “I can’t believe it.”
You flinched backward, hands trembling. “No. No, you’re not real.”
“I’m real.”
“You left me.” Your voice cracked. “You left me to die.”
Spencer’s face crumpled. Not in confusion. Not in anger.
In guilt. Real, raw, bone-deep guilt.
“I thought you were dead,” he said. His voice broke on the last word.
“You pointed a gun at me.”
“I couldn’t do it.”
“But you didn’t stop Alex.”
“I came back.”
“You left.”
Silence fell again, deafening.
You were shaking now. Tears gathered in your eyes, but you didn’t let them fall. You had dreamed of this moment. You had rehearsed this confrontation in your head every night for a year. You had pictured yelling, violence, fury.
You hadn’t expected… this.
Spencer stepped forward. Slowly.
You flinched.
He stopped. Slowly and gently, Spencer reached out, offering his hand like he was taming something feral.
“Touch me,” he said softly. “I swear, I’m real.”
You stared at his hand. It was the same. The same hand you had been longing to hold. Then, with a breath you didn’t realize you were holding, you reached forward.
You waited for your hand to go through his. For his fingers to give way to air. For you to blink and he would disappear forever.
Your fingers touched his.
Warm. Solid. Steady.
Real.
He was real.
You choked on a sob. You yanked your hand back like it burned.
And then-
-you hit him.
Your fist slammed into his chest with no real force, just grief. Then another. And another. Your hands pounded into Spencer’s skin like rain thundering across a roof. He didn’t stop you.
And then you collapsed into him, sobbing like a dam had broken inside your chest.
He caught you immediately. Pulled you in and held you like a man who had lost everything and just gotten it back.
“You didn’t believe me,” you choked. “After everything we shared. Everything we became. You didn’t believe me.”
“I’m sorry,” Spencer said, quietly. Honestly. “I am so sorry.”
You let out a fresh round of tears.
“I looked for you,” he whispered into your hair. “Everywhere. I didn’t stop.”
“You should’ve come back,” you cried. “You should’ve taken me out of that room.”
“I tried. They told me you were dead. Alex said-” He stopped. Shook his head. “I broke when I thought I lost you. I burned it all down. But I never stopped trying.”
You looked up at him, trembling. “You didn’t believe me. Not when I told you the truth.”
Spencer’s eyes welled with unshed tears. “I was afraid. I thought you were playing me. And then I realized... you weren’t. But I was too late.”
“And now?” you asked.
“Now I know,” he said. “Truly, I had always known. But I was blinded. I was scared.”
You scoffed through your tears.
“What could Spencer Agnew possibly be scared of?” You asked, sarcasm dripping like venom.
Spencer opened his mouth. Then he closed it.
You stared at each other. Every unspoken word hanging in the air between you.
And then… finally…
“Love.” He said. “I love you.”
Not a whisper. Not a mutter. A confession. A surrender.
You closed your eyes and wept again. Not from sorrow. From relief.
He loved you. He said it outloud. Confessed it to you and to the world. Something you had only dreamed of.
“I’m sorry it took me so long to realize it. To say it,” Spencer apologized again. “But I didn’t think I would ever get the chance after what I had done. I am so sorry, my darling.”
You stared up at him. And that was what filled the gaping hole in your heart.
Not the apology.
But the look in his eyes. The way he saw you. The way he always had.
Then you kissed him.
He kissed you back.
It wasn’t like the first time. Not full of heat or hunger. But full of grief. Full of survival. Full of love too long denied.
When you parted, you just stayed there. In each other’s arms. Together once again.
“Darling, I have something for you. If you will accept it.” Spencer reached into his coat and pulled something from his inner pocket.
The gold queen pin.
“I never let it go,” he said. “Even when I thought you were gone. I knew I’d give it back. Someday.”
“I thought it had been destroyed in the explosion.” You confessed, looking at the pin in Spencer’s hand.
“I never want to lose you again,” Spencer confessed, his voice choking with emotion. “I love you, and I want you by my side. For as long as you want to be there.”
You cupped his face in your hands, looking him in the eyes.
“Spencer, you have never lost me. I have always been yours.”
The smile on Spencer’s face could have blinded the sun. He looked at you like he always did. And now you knew that when Spencer had been seeing you, looking at you, it had always been with love.
Three days later, you stood at the threshold of a new world.
The air was crisp, the morning fog clinging to the treetops. Before you loomed a fortress of glass and steel, silent and impenetrable. Spencer Agnew’s new stronghold. The building was angular, elegant, and terrifying in its quiet power. Nothing remained of the old compound. That world had been reduced to ash. What stood now had risen from its grave like something reborn.
The past was gone.
But he had made space for the future.
Your future.
A sleek, silent car had brought you here, tires crunching down the forest road with careful precision. At the final bend, the iron gates opened before you like a curtain to a stage.
Just inside the gates, stood a man in a charcoal grey suit. He held up a hand, commanding the car to stop. He walked up and pulled open the sedan door opposite of you.
Alex slid into the seat.
For a long moment, neither of you spoke. The rumble of the car tires on the gravel was the only sound. Then Alex nodded once.
“Didn’t think I’d see you again,” he said. He didn’t smile. He just looked at you like a man who had watched too many people disappear and was still surprised when one came back.
“I’m surprised you didn’t make sure of it,” you answered dryly.
He huffed a breath. “Spencer would’ve killed me.”
“Maybe he should’ve.”
The edge of his mouth twitched, almost like a smile. Alex didn’t argue. But he didn’t apologize either.
The sedan rolled to a stop at the front of the compound. You went to open your door and get out of the car, but Alex stopped you, placing his hand briefly on yours.
You looked at him, confused. He slipped from his seat, walked around to your side, and opened your door for you.
Alex offered a hand.
You hesitated.
But then you took it.
His grip was steady. Warmer than you expected. He helped you out of the car like a knight would his queen. Alex escorted you up the steps to the compound, and through the large, heavy front doors.
Inside the compound, everything thrummed with quiet authority.
It wasn’t chaos like the last operation. No frantic energy. No brittle alliances. This was sleek, unified. You passed by security stations, modern war rooms, glass-walled strategy cells. Everyone moved with silent purpose. Weapons at their side, files in hand, eyes always watching.
And then… they saw you.
Some stared outright. Some faltered mid-step. One woman you passed nearly dropped her tablet. They didn’t speak, but they didn’t need to.
Your presence was enough.
The hallway opened into a wide corridor of obsidian tile and steel support beams, leading to a pair of dark double doors. Alex stopped just before them and turned toward you.
“He’s inside,” he said. “He’s different now,” he said. “More vicious. More dangerous.”
“So am I,” you replied.
Alex gave a quiet nod. No more suspicion. No more walls. Just respect. Maybe even… reverence.
He opened the doors.
You stepped in.
And there he was.
Spencer Agnew.
He stood at the head of a long table made of dark, polished stone. The walls were lined with screens showing live feeds, encrypted code, and territory maps. His inner circle of lietenants sat around the table, whispering in low voices.
But he wasn’t looking at any of them.
He was looking at you.
And for a moment, the room fell away.
The table. The lieutenants. The empire he had built in your absence.
All of it vanished beneath the weight of his eyes.
He stepped forward slowly, like you were something sacred.
Neither of you spoke. You didn’t need to.
You walked toward him with measured steps. One beat. Then another.
He reached for you, fingers brushing yours, and you let him. His hand was steady. Warm. Real.
You laced your fingers with his, finally whole again.
At the table, whispers rippled like wind through glass.
“Is that-?”
“She’s alive?”
“I thought she-”
Spencer turned back to them.
“I trust you all remember her,” Spencer said smoothly.
A few nodded stiffly. One paled.
“This,” he said, his voice loud and clear, “is my partner.”
A ripple of unease spread across the room. Most straightened in their seats. A few looked uneasy. One lieutenant, younger, green around the edges, leaned forward slightly, his brow drawn in a frown.
“With all due respect, sir, how do we know she won’t betray you again?”
The silence that followed was sharp enough to cut bone.
Spencer didn’t move. He didn’t need to.
Alex stepped forward instinctively, gun already half-raised.
But you held up your hand.
Alex stopped.
You stepped forward.
No raised voice. No theatrics. Just you. Steady, centered, and unafraid.
You didn’t look at the lieutenant right away. You looked around the room, at the faces that still didn’t know what to make of you. Let them wonder.
Then, at last, you met the lieutenant’s eyes.
“I didn’t come back for your approval,” you said softly.
Not a threat. Not a plea.
Just the truth.
You let the words settle. Let him feel their weight.
“I don’t need to prove myself. Not to you.”
The lieutenant shifted, uncomfortable but silent.
“I’ve walked through worse than your doubts and came back standing.”
The lieutenant opened his mouth.
You raised a single brow.
“Try me.”
He shut it again.
Alex lowered his gun.
“You all know who I am. Don’t forget.”
Across the room, Spencer smiled. He didn’t need to say anything. But he did, anyway.
“And if you don’t,” Spencer added, “you’ll learn.”
A few chuckled nervously. Others didn’t dare.
You turned to Spencer, walked back to his side. Spencer watched you with something unreadable behind his eyes, something caught between awe and devastation.
He stepped closer, just enough that his voice didn’t carry past the two of you.
“I never should’ve doubted you,” he murmured. “You’ve always known how to hold your own.”
You glanced up at him, heat rising behind your calm expression. “Took you long enough.”
He huffed a quiet breath, almost a laugh.
Then, gently, he reached into the inner pocket of his coat and pulled out the queen pin.
It had been polished. Preserved. Protected.
Spencer held it up, then pinned it carefully to your lapel, his fingers brushing against the fabric near your heart.
“You came back sharper,” he said softly.
“I came back real,” you replied.
His hand lingered on the pin for a moment longer.
Your eyes found his. The same eyes that once held doubt and hurt. Now they were filled with something else entirely.
Love.
“Still sweet, though,” he added quietly. “Underneath all that fire.”
You met his gaze evenly. “Only for you.”
The corner of his mouth pulled into the faintest smile. He leaned in, his lips brushing just behind your ear. “Sweeter than honey.”
You felt that warmth bloom in your chest again, slow and heady and unmistakably his.
You squeezed his hand once, grounding yourself in his presence.
Then you both turned back to the room.
Spencer looked to you. “After you, darling.”
You stepped forward. Your voice rang out, clear and absolute.
Surprise! Just when you thought the story was over… one last twist.
This is the real final part, and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading, loving, and sticking with me on this wild, emotional journey. Your support, comments, and love have meant more than I can say.
I poured everything into this series, and getting to share it with you all has been such a gift.
Thank you for every like, reblog, message, and moment.
This is honestly the best series I have ever read in my entire life. The writing was perfection, the ending was everything I needed and the whole thing.. just wow. I seriously felt everyone’s emotions and many times jumped in my bed or looked into an invisible camera because I was so shocked. I will actually never get over this story ever. This should be a whole book, and a movie, and a tv series. Anyone who hasn’t read this absolutely should! Everyone go support this author and show them the absolute love they deserve!!!! Just wow. Again. I LOVED. This.
Hello everyone !! <33 just wanted to tell you all that I might not be posting for a while. I’m going into my studies again in a few days and my mind is focused on that currently. I might drop a story or two this week but I think not. Sorry for this and I’ll make sure to get back into writing soon again !!! ❤️❤️
It was the first day of smosh summer games 2005 and you would be competing against your girlfriend. The two of you hadn't exactly told anyone about you being official yet. It hadn't been a very long time since you actually declared to each other that you were a couple. It all had happened so fast. Shayne and Courtney had hosted a party at their place around two months ago. You and Angela had been standing outside to get some fresh air. You couldn't remember who initiated it, but a moment later you were making out and the next day when you woke up she was in your bed. After that the two of you had hit it off completely. You had gone on dates, slept at each others apartments and now you were actively planning on moving in together. If someone told you when you started at smosh that you and Angela would plan on moving in together you'd call them crazy, now you just call yourself lucky. She's everything you need in your life. Your personalities go together like peanut butter and jelly (it's a cheesy comparison but you get it).
You weren't really sure why you hadn't told anyone. Probably because it would turn into quite a huge thing. The comments would go crazy and the entire office would as well. Neither you nor Angela wanted to be the next 'Shourtney'.. not right now at least. You had done such a good job hiding it from everyone, looking like close friends in videos and in the smoffice. You had in fact done so well there were basically no 'Angela x y/n' edits. No one in the office were shipping you. Not once had you slipped up... well until today.
You were beginning shooting and immediately the trash talk started. It seemed like Angela had specifically targeted you. Maybe to tease? You didn't know. But two could play that game. The two of you had trash talked each other the entire game. You had yelled "GO!" before she was actually supposed to in the 50 foot dash, causing her to run too early several times. You had fallen to the ground because of how heavy you were laughing. Angela had tried telling you that you jumped like a 'pussy' in the vertical leap, causing her face to turn bright red and you could see how heavily she had wanted to apologize. It had been pretty moderate until the last game, the football throw. Angela had tried once again to yell some random thing to trash talk one of your teammates and you chimed in immediately.
"Hey maybe if your voice didn't sound like a screeching chihuahua we'd all actually hear your trash talking.", you yelled back, making almost everyone burst into laughter. You weren't exactly used to trash talk others, but it was an intense game after all.
Angela immediately shot back at you. "I don't sound like a chihuahua! Maybe if you didn't dress like a 12 year old boy people would actually respect you!"
Everyone gasped and broke out into laughter again. Shayne was wheezing behind Trevor and his face was bright red. Your jaw dropped and you kept going. "Says the one who's a literal size of a 12 year old!
She yelled out a loud "HEY!" and everyone was laughing. Tommy was holding a hand on his chest, basically gasping for air.
You laughed as well, before speaking up again. "Aww poor Angela. Do you want me to get down on my knees and beg for forgiveness?" You asked as you dramatically got down on your knees, clasping your hands together as you chanted "Im so sorry Angela!"
Angela replied, yelling loudly. "Don't act like you don't like begging! Cause that was exactly what you did when you were on your knees for me yesterday!"
You froze and so did she. Everyone looked at you in complete silence. They weren't sure if this was actually a joke or not. But based on the expression on both your and Angela's faces, something was off.
Angela buried her face in her hands and so did you. Immediately you heard Shayne yell a loud "WHAT?!"
Spencer looked at the two of you before speaking up. "Wait a second... was that not a joke?", he asked and now everyone was staring at you. You looked up at Angela, unsure if she wanted to tell everyone or act as if it was a joke. She seemed to be thinking the exact same thing. You figured there was no point in lying anymore. The truth was more or less out now.
With a sigh you stood up, facing your coworkers who were also close friends. "Me and Angela are a couple.", you said as you took a step closer to Angela who was uncharacteristically quiet.
Everyone's jaws dropped and they looked at you with shocked expressions. They all started to talk on top of each other.
"WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN?", Courtney shouted
"YOU TWO ARE A COUPLE?", Change yelled
"THIS IS CRAZIER THAN ARASHAS FAKE ENGAGEMENT", Tommy shouted
You just stood there trying to wait out the yelling so that you could finally talk.
"We have been dating for a little over two months. We kinda hit it off at your party.", you said and pointed to Shayne and Courtney.
"I hope you didn't have sex in our bed.", Shayne said and your cheeks heated up.
"NO! We did not have sex in your bed!", Angela yelled causing Shayne to do a dramatic sigh of relief. You continued to answer everyones questions and you all spoke about it for an hour, if not longer.
You and Angela were cuddling on the couch, the tv on in the background but neither of you focused.
"How does it feel now that we've told everyone?", you asked, running your fingers through Angelas hair.
"Feels good actually. Now we can finally just act normal. I can actually come up and hug you."
"You already do that Angela.", you responded with a laugh.
"You know what I mean!", she said, a small smile on her face.
"Yeah.. I agree. Feels relieving."
You were both starting to drift off when Angela's phone started ringing. She clicked on 'answer' and immediately Amanda's voice flooded through the speakers.
HELLO EVERYONE !!!! I hope you liked this. This is my second Angela fic so I hope it's okay and that ya'll enjoy it. Loved this requests and I will post another one later today and more tomorrow (probably)! So stay tuned!
You had been feeling a 'little under the weather' for a few days now, stuffed nose and a sore throat. It hadn't really been anything serious so you chugged down two pills with a glass of water and went to work anyway. This week was fairly calm but you hated to stay home and rest when you weren't really sick. You found it unnecessary. Angela had tried to make you stay home, saying that it could get worse and that work would be fine with you being absent a day or two to rest. You loved her but had brushed her off. It wasn't to be rude, you just wanted to finish some things at the smoffice.
Work had gone well, just a little slower than usual. You'd have to think an additional step before writing things down as well as be a little quieter in videos.
Today when you woke up, you felt completely dead. Your hair was sticking to you skin because of sweat and your forehead was hotter than it should be. Yet like always, you didn't want to stay home. Angela had gone to work before you, having an early shoot. You were very thankful of that because you knew if she saw you right now, she'd physically push you into bed and force you to stay home.
You took two pills which you chugged down with a glass of water. After that you forced yourself to eat a sandwich before going to freshen yourself up. You walked into the bathroom and splashed cold water on your face, trying to wake yourself up more. As you looked up and saw your reflection, you almost recoiled. You looked sick, literally.
Yet you still pushed through, putting on makeup and getting dressed very slowly. Once ready, you grabbed your keys and walked out of your apartment. This would be a long day.
When you stepped into work your head was already spinning. Those pills you had taken hadn't helped one bit. Still, you forced yourself to plaster a fake smile on your face as you headed to your desk. Damien went to greet you but immediately saw that something was wrong. You weren't your usual happy self, instead sitting still and looking out into nothing. "Are you okay y/n?", he asked, looking at you with a concerned expression. Quickly you snapped out of the zoning out and met his eyes. "Oh yeah, just a little tired.", you responded with a smile. Your voice sounded worse than you thought it had done this morning. Maybe it wasn't a great idea to go to work today.
Angela was walking out from shooting a 'get fourth Mario party' when she spotted you at your desk, looking dead. She approached you with her usual energy and hugged you from behind. "Hello Angela", you said with a soft smile, turning your head back to look at her. Without you even saying a thing, she turned worried in a millisecond. She clocked that something was off. You weren't okay.
"Woah you sound like a gutted out turkey are you okay? Oh my god your forehead is burning y/n! Why didn't you stay home?", she rambled on, holding onto your cheeks with concern, her brows furrowing.
"I'm fine sweetheart. I just feel a little tired.", you responded, face squished between her hands. You put your hand over hers in an attempt to calm her down to no avail.
"Have you checked your temperature before you left for work?", she asked, still worried.
"No, but I promise I'm not feeling bad I just-" You felt something coming up in your throat. You were definitely going to throw up, and you'd preferably do so into a toilet and not all over your worried girlfriend. Without giving an explanation you rushed to the nearest bathroom, throwing yourself onto the cold floor before puking into the toilet. It didn't exactly feel wonderful to throw up but it was definitely better than throwing up onto Angela. Once done, you washed your mouth and headed back to your desk. Okay, you'd maybe go home now. But when you walked out again Angela was already sprinting towards you. You opened your mouth to speak but she immediately cut you off.
"I already spoke to Alessandra and told her we would spend the rest of the day at home.", she said, looking at you.
"Angela you really don't have to come home with me I'm an adult I promise I will be fine." But she wouldn't have it. Not one bit. She knew the truth, knew you'd probably try to work from home or clean the apartment. She wanted you to rest. To relax as she took care of you.
You were sitting in bed, Angela running around the house. She had gone full-on nurse mode. She was grabbing pills, making tea with honey, grabbing a bunch of blankets and pillows to make it extra comfortable for you. She even filled up the bathtub and decorated the bathroom with scented candles so you could take a bath. She carefully handed you the tea, acting like you were the most fragile thing in the world. She didn't want you to break. You took the tea into your hands and immediately sighed when you felt the sweet taste go down your throat. She had made it just how you liked it. She then carefully sat down on the side of the bed.
"Angela baby.. I'm not going to break I promise.", you said with a small laugh.
She immediately turned to look at you. She placed her hand on your thigh and smiled a little at your comment. "I know.. I just want you to feel okay.", she said, feeling a little cheesy from being so vulnerable.
You immediately softened at her words. God you loved this woman. "I am feeling okay now, at least better.. all thanks to you."
She smiled at that and scooted closer to you, sitting next to you on the couch.
HEY YALLLLL!!!!!! I hope you enjoyed this sweet drabble. This is my first ever Angela story so I hope it isn't all too bad. Feel free to drop more requests and I will get to them as quickly as I can ! <33333
Y’all are getting fed today. I love all of your requests sooooo much!!!! Thank you to everyone who has given their support and share requests and ideas! I will get to writing as soon as I can ❤️
Hey! I saw that you were asking for Smosh requests and was wondering if you could write a Damien x fem! reader fic about how the reader has been struggling with sleeping and how he would help with that! Been fighting my own sleep issues lately😭✋
Okay so first let me say I truly hope you get some sleep soon!! I usually try white noise while I have trouble sleeping and that helps for me so just a small suggestion you maybe could try 🙏🙏 But here’s a small little fic for you <333
————————————————————————
Trouble sleeping
GN reader x Damien Haas
Request !! <33
Word count: 741
Warnings: None, just fluff
Summary: You’ve had trouble sleeping for a while now and Damien helps you. That’s all.
————————————————————————
Lately you had been having trouble sleeping. And not the small kind like only sleeping five or six hours. No this was bad. Most days you’d stay up til late, at best sleeping 2-3 hours a night. This was affecting your life both at work and at home. You had been preforming bad at work and then come home and lay on the couch or in bed until it was time for dinner. You hadn’t told Damien about this because you didn’t want to burden him. There was a lot at work these past weeks and it had putten a huge pile of pressure on both of you. He just took it better than you.
But Damien wasn’t exactly blind. He had seen just how tired you were, how you laid with a numb body on the couch, your eye-bags growing darker every day. He just hadn’t had time to talk to you about it. But tonight was different. Work had been much calmer and he was able to keep his mind calm. After a cozy dinner and some snuggling on the couch the two of you brushed your teeth before going to bed together. You knew for a fact that you wouldn’t be getting many hours of sleep tonight, just like the last night and the nights before that one. Yet you laid down next to Damien, his arm hanging loosely around your waist as you tried to fall asleep. After laying for a long time like always you just sighed and went to go up. That’s when you heard Damien speaking up from behind you.
“You okay sweetheart?”, he said with a sleepy voice, sitting up to look at you as you stood in the doorway.
“Yeah I’m okay. I just.. couldn’t sleep.”, you responded with a sigh and walked back to sit on the side of the bed.
“I have noticed you being tired for quite some time now. I’m very sorry for not talking with you about it sooner.”, he said with an apologetic voice as he scooted over to sit beside you, his hand rubbing light circles on your back.
“It’s not your fault. I just.. can’t sleep.”, you replied with a tired laugh, turning to look at him.
He looked at you with the cutest smile you had ever seen, making you smile as well.
“Well let’s talk about it, if you want to that is.”
You didn’t exactly know what you wanted. You had been unknowingly stressed for quite some time. Something unnamed had been happening in your brain causing you to not be able to sleep. You nodded at his proposal and smiled tiredly.
“Great.”, he said with a smile. “I’ll go grab your favorite stuffed animal from the living room closet, make you some hot chocolate with whipped cream and tiny marshmallows, grab your favorite blanket and we can watch your favorite movie.”
Damien immediately hurried off, going on a small mission to get all the things he knew brought you comfort. You let out a heavy breath you hadn’t known you were holding before changing into one of his shirts, your favorite one.
————————————————————————-
A few minutes later, he was back. He was gentle with everything as he draped the blanket over you, handed you the stuffed animal and placed the hot chocolate next to you on your night stand. He got into bed as well and scooted a little closer to you.
“Do you want to cuddle or do you want space?”, he asked, wanting you to be as comfortable as possible.
“Cuddle.”, you responded, scooting closer to him as you laid your head on his chest.
“Can we watch little miss sunshine? Please? I don’t think I have the energy to talk tonight.”
“Of course. We can talk whenever you’re ready to talk.”
He put on your favorite movie and draped his arm around you to make himself more comfortable as well as to pull you closer to him. He rubbed circles on your back to slowly lull you into sleep. At first your brain was racing with thoughts, but the low talking on the tv and the small circles that were being traced on your lower back made the thoughts turn into static and your body slowly relaxed. After just a few minutes you were fast asleep, snoring quietly as you laid on Damien’s chest.
When he noticed you had finally fallen asleep he gave a light kiss to your temple and whispered “goodnight”, before falling asleep himself.
————————————————————————
HELLO!!!!! I really hoped you liked this small blurb of a story. Keep giving requests because honestly it is very interesting to read all of your suggestions!!! Again, I hope you can sleep better soon <333

Use of y/n
Warnings: Kissing, panic attack, like always Damien Haas, lots of fluff
Word count: 2.2k
Summary: Damien asks to come over. Will it end in a true love kiss or heartbreak?
————————————————————————-
You were sitting in your car, driving down the highway a little too fast while gripping the steering wheel a little too tight. Ten minutes ago you had told Damien you were in love with him before running away from the shoot. You had just been driving without a destination since then.
Your mind was racing and tears prickled the inner corners of your eyes. How could you have been so stupid? So reckless? Obviously he didn’t like you the way you liked him, and there was no way you could go to work tomorrow.
There was a sudden sharp pain in your chest and it felt as if you couldn’t breathe. You were having a panic attack. Quickly you pulled over to the side of the road, turning off the car as you held your hand on your chest. Every breath clogged in your throat and couldn’t seem to get out nor in. Your eyes scanned the car for anything that could help but it felt useless. You closed your eyes and tried to think of things that made you calm: the leaves on an autumn tree, falling off slowly as the rain gently tapped on your window, snuggling up with a cozy blanket in your couch as you watched Little miss sunshine for the 20st time, Damien talking with you for hours on the phone that one night when you couldn’t sleep. Oh Damien. You felt his warmth prickle your skin, his smile (with the cute little gap on the side) making your mood instantly better, his eyes looking deep into yours, making you feel seen like never before.
Finally, you could breathe again. After a few minutes of breathing in and out, you drove home. There was no point in wasting money on speeding down the highway. It was better to drown your sorrow in ice cream, especially on a hot summer day.
————————————————————————-
You inserted the key into your apartment door and turned the handle slowly. Your steps were heavy as you walked inside. Instantly you went to the fridge, squatting down to open the noisy freezer door. You were supposed to fix it weeks ago but never really got the time. Damien said he’d come over to help, you had told him it was fine. Now you would probably never fix it.
You reached into the back of the freezer, fingers getting cold as you grabbed onto the Ben n Jerrie’s. Slowly you pulled your arm out again and closed the door, once again hearing the lovely sound.
You put the ice cream down on the counter and opened the top. It was almost empty, just your luck. It reminded you of when Damien told you he liked having little ice cream left. When you had asked why he simply said “because then I know I can eat it all and won’t have to put it in again afterwards.” You had laughed at that.
You opened the top drawer on the left and grabbed a spoon before walking to the couch, tossing your shoes off during the short walk. Once you sat down and let yourself sink back into the soft material, you sighed. This usually felt comfortable to you. This was your way of relaxing. But now? It just felt odd. Everything did.
You took out your phone from your pocket to check if you had any missed messages or calls. You had left in a hurry after all.
“Can I come over?” - Damien.
Immediately you felt your hands shake. He wanted to come over? It wasn’t rocket science to guess why. Of course you knew. The thing was that you didn’t want to have this conversation with him. It was easier to take heartbreak from afar. To get rejected in front of him? Seeing his face as he said those special words. You knew exactly how he’d say it too. “It’s not that I don’t like you, I do. Just not in the way you like me.”
The words had been replaying in your head for weeks, even though he had never actually said them. It was easier to imagine he had. That way when he did say them you’d be prepared. Because you were exactly that, prepared. So you should be able to handle him rejecting you. You shouldn’t even care. It meant nothing, you told yourself. He would say the words you knew he would and then he’d be gone again. You could quit working at smosh and go back to stand up again. To improve. Of course you didn’t want to deep down, but what other choice did you have?
It would be way too heartbreaking to be around him after he rejects you. You won’t be able to look him in the face. Because you know that you do care, you care way too much. But it was better to pull off the band aid right away.
“Okay.” - y/n
“I’ll be there in ten” - Damien.
Ten minutes? He really wanted to talk. At first you sat in silence, staring straight ahead. You knew what this would mean.
But another thought hit you right after, your apartment was a mess. Damien would be here in ten minutes and see your mess. No way.
Quickly you sprung up from the couch, rising to your feet. He couldn’t see this. Your pride wouldn’t let him. You ran from room to room, cleaning up as best as you could in ten minutes. He wouldn’t see any room except for the hallway, the kitchen and the living room. But what if something happened and he just had to look in the bedroom or your bathroom? No harm in cleaning those rooms as well.
When everything looked nice and clean, you fixed yourself up. You had mascara stains from crying and your hair was messier than usual. You just ran some dry schampoo into it and put on a more casual outfit. This would do.
————————————————————————-
Two knocks on the door. Damien was here. You slowly walked to the door and opened it. You didn’t want to seem desperate. He looked at you worriedly. It was like see saw exactly how you felt. You touched your cheek and immediately felt dried mascara under your fingertip. Oh no. Oh no no no no. This was not happening. Quickly as you could you said “You can come in I just have to fix something real quick” before basically sprinting into the bathroom.
As you looked into the mirror you saw how destroyed you looked. It was almost pathetic. You never cried in front of people. You were a very emotional person but you just couldn’t stand crying in front of someone. Your parents never really cried when you were a kid and that had made you feel like you were weak if you did.
You took a cotton pad and but some micellar water on it before removing the mascara off your face. Now you were entirely exposed. No makeup, obvious ‘I just cried’ look on your face. You sighed one last time before walking out of the bathroom again, heading to the living room where Damien was standing. He looked out of place. His hands were fidgeting and he couldn’t seem to decide whether to stand causally or seriously.
You had to bite down on your tongue to make sure your smile would disappear. You truly liked him.
“Hey I’m sorry about that.. uhm.. I forgot about it being on my face.”, you said foolishly, rubbing a hand over your neck before standing a respectable distance from him.
“It’s okay.”, he responded quietly. He looked sad, but he was still the same old sweet Damien. The Damien that would bring you your favorite drink while you were working because he knew you didn’t like coffee. The Damien that would slip you a smile whenever he saw you focusing on something. The Damien that was impossible not to fall for.
“Do you want to start talking or do you want me to start?, he asked, looking at you with the same softness as always. Almost like you were a hurt puppy and he wanted to make sure you wouldn’t get more hurt than you already were.
“I can go first.”. You had nothing to hide anymore. He already knew you loved him more or less. It wouldn’t hurt to tell him anything. You almost felt like you owed him that. An explanation.
“I’m sorry I left before. Well, basically sprinting away from you but still. I, like you probably noticed, hadn’t exactly planned on confessing to you right then and there. Uhm.. this is very embarrassing to say ehm. Your whole demeanor as the superintendent.. the look. It woke something in me that I didn’t even know existed. I already knew you were hot, beautifully so, but that? It was on a whole other level.”
He smiled at that, which you couldn’t see because you were too busy looking down at your feet.
“Well I’ll just put it out there. I’m in love with you. It wasn’t a joke or something I just said to you because you’re my friend. I am very much in love with you. I mean.. how couldn’t I be? You’re mature, but still have that immature side which you bring out perfectly. You’re kind and comforting and like I just said, very attractive. Sometimes I catch myself staring at you when you’re working or talking and I mean that in a very non-creepy way. You just.. mesmerize me.. I guess.”
You exhaled a heavy breath and finally looked up at him. You were already prepared for what he’d look like. You had actually practiced this scene in your room late at night (totally not weird). He would have a sad frown in his face and wouldn’t meet your gaze for a while. Then he’d say what he said every time.
To your surprise, he was in fact not frowning at all. His face held a soft smile and he was already looking at you before your eyes met his. He radiated warmth, not coldness. It was almost like he wanted to reach out and touch you. It was a little scary. Then he started talking.
“Y/n.” He took a deep breath. “I’m not very sure how I’m supposed to start this conversation but will try my best. I am in love with you too, and have been for a long time now.” Your eyes went wide and your mouth opened. What?
“You are, in lack of better words, the light in my world. It may sound incredibly cheesy or weird and I know you don’t like getting compliments like these, but trust me when I assure you that all I’m saying is in fact the truth. You are incredibly intelligent, talented and warm. You light up every room you walk into, one smile and everything instantly feels worth it. You are beautiful. So very beautiful, even though you may not always see or feel that way.”
Your eyes were teary again but the smile on your face showed that they were happy tears. You laughed a little to yourself before sniffling and interrupting him mid sentence.
“You’re going off script.”, you said, looking at his now confused face. Before he can ask any questions you continue.
“I have been practicing this interaction in my room for weeks, maybe even months to be honest. I was supposed to say my little confession, and you were supposed to look away from me with a frown before saying ‘It’s not that I like you, I do. Just not in the way you like me’.”
He looked at you even more confused than before. Then he began laughing, taking a small step towards you. “Wow I really screwed that up didn’t I? I’m sorry for going off script.”
You took a step closer as well, laughing with him. “You should be.”
You both slowly approached each other in silence, your eyes glued to each other. Damien reached his hand up unsurely towards the side of your face, brushing the side of your cheek lightly.
“Can I make up for it somehow?”, he asked, his eyes going down to your lips before meeting yours again.
“I have a few ideas..”, you responded.
Immediately, but softly, his mouth crashed into yours. It was peaceful, it was everything you had ever dreamed of. His hand held onto the side of your face, the other one going to your waist. You gripped onto his shirt, pulling him closer.
————————————————————————-
You yawned quietly as you woke up, stretching your arms out before opening your eyes.
“Good morning.”, Damien said. You had your head resting on his chest, your hand above his stomach. He had one arm around your waist, pulling you closer against him, making you look up at him.
“How long have you been awake?”, you asked, a sleepy smile on your face.
“Long enough to know you talk in your sleep.”, he replied with a sweet laugh. He was adorable, perfect.
“Do you want to get something to eat? Maybe some breakfast?”
“Five more minutes.”, you said with another yawn, tracing different shapes on his warm body with finger.
“Alright, five more minutes.”, he replied as he kissed the top of your head.

A.N: Thank you guys for all your support! This is my second fic I have
A.N: my day has been so good today (I finally learnt how to French braid my hair) so here’s a little quick fic with our lovely Damien Haas <33
Warnings: Kissing and like always.. Damien Haas.
Word count: 1.6k
Summary: You and Damien are on smosh mouth, acting as substitutes for Shayne and Amanda. Will you be able to keep your crush on Damien a secret or will your tiredness make you blurb out a confession?
————————————————————————-
You and Damien were being mic’d up to record a Smosh mouth episode, acting as substitutes for Amanda and Shayne. Yesterday you both had gotten an Email. It read as following:
[From Alex T]
Hello. So sorry that this is so last minute but Shayne just called in sick and Amanda did as well since she is on the verge of giving birth. The whole crew had a talk and we thought you two would be great together on an episode, because of your friendship and charismatic chemistry. Please respond as quickly as possible
See yall tomorrow :)
Now here you were, standing next to each other. Of course you both had said yes. You loved being with Damien and would take any given chance to be near him when you could. He was a very close friend of yours and the two of you just clicked somehow. You weren’t like each other at all, but that made it better. He would listen to you talk about some rude asshole you’d pass on the street or some weird thing you’d seen online and you would listen to him speak about his interest, a new movie he’d be voice acting in or something in that sense.
Although the reason you were most excited about being around Damien was your huge crush on him. He was always there for you, no matter what time you needed to talk or whatever it was you needed to talk about. He was, in loss of better words, absolutely perfect. Sometimes you’d be at his place, your head on his shoulder as you watched a movie together. You’d almost always fall asleep and he’d put a blanket over you to keep you warm. To most people it probably looked like the two of you were a couple. The glances, the deep gazes, the light touches and the far too intense laughter.
And yet you hadn’t made a move yet. Why? You were 100% sure he didn’t like you back. He was the dream man and you were just..well.. you.
————————————————————————-
You sat where Amanda usually sat and Damien sat in Shayne’s seat. You gave him a soft smile before the cameras started rolling.
“Hello everyone today I will be Shayne, and y/n will be Amanda.”, Damien said, starting the video.
“I am the new and improved Amanda Lehan-Canto.”, you replied, looking into the camera with a grin.
“To be honest I have no idea what I’m doing. I could easily sit and talk for an hour straight with you.. anyone basically. But this? This is some next level shit. People literally have me in their ears right now maybe.”, you said, looking at Damien who returned your gaze with soft eyes.
“Yeah this is your first time being on here. I’m sure you’ll do great y/n. Besides, I’m here. If you somehow end up being the worst talker ever, which I know for a fact you aren’t, I’ll just start talking about something.”
The way Damien was looking at you right now was making your knees weak and your cheeks warm. How could a man be this beautiful? You were pretty sure it was illegal.
Thankfully Damien had prepared a few subjects for you to discuss in the video/audio. You’d discuss fears and horrors, as well as romance and relationships. Great.
“Do you have any big fears y/n? I know you’re scared of the dark and clowns, which I may add are very cute, but are you afraid of something else?”, Damien asked and you laughed at his words, finding clowns ‘cute’ and interesting.
“First of all, Clowns are super creepy and your apartment is basically a nightmare for me. But I kind of have a hate/love relationship with them. Clowns are kinda hot.” You said and Damien broke out into laughter, just shaking his head and raising his hand up in the air when you replied with “what? They are!”
You then continued talking, actually speaking about real fears this time. “Well I’m scared of rejection for sure. Something in my childhood messed dating up for me entirely. Although I really want to have a partner. It’s like with the clowns. A hate/love relationship with dating.”
When you said that Damien looked at you in a softer way, his eyes having that special look to them. “I understand that. But I’m sure you’ll find someone if you start looking. You’re not exactly hard to love.”, he said with a small laugh.
You laughed as well but your stomach made a backflip. Had he actually just said that? On camera? It was probably a normal thing to say to friends. You were best friends after all. That’s why he said it. No other reason.
————————————————————————-
The conversations carried on and now you were on the subject of talking about your favorite romcoms. You had been rambling on about the holiday for way too long and now Damien was talking about Iove actually, how it was a guilty pleasure even though it had some weird vibes and meanings in it.
“I can’t stop watching it even though I find it very weird sometimes. You know? Like…..”
He kept talking and you just nodded along, smiling at him with love in your eyes. The commenters would without a doubt notice the way you looked at him. So why couldn’t he?
Before you could even react your mouth spat out some words. “You’re like.. very attractive right now and it’s kind of distracting me from what you’re saying.”. Why would you say that? Especially to the man you were head over heels in love with?
Damien stopped talking then, the tip of his ears getting a darker shade of pink and his eyes going wide, his mouth open but no words getting out. You quickly felt flustered and tried to cover over what you had just said. “Actually never mind forget I ever said that.”
But Damien would probably never forget that.
————————————————————————-
After you had said what you had said the room felt a bit more tense, something charged hanging over the two of you. The show must go on though and you continued having conversations about the topics Damien had come up with.
He was looking at you in a different way than he used to. His eyes darker than you had ever seen them before. You brushed it off as him maybe being uncomfortable, but you couldn’t stop thinking about it.
Finally after a long hour of suffering and tension Alex yelled “Cut!” from behind the cameras. You exhaled, letting go of a breath you didn’t even realize you had been holding. You said a quick “good work” to Damien as you got unmic’d but quickly slipped away from him before he could approach you.
Unfortunately, it was now lunch and you two had a bunch of free time. You knew this because he always told you his schedule every night before going to bed (yes you talked for hours every night what about it?).
Instead of going to lunch straight away, you walked the other way. There was no way you could be close to Damien right now. You knew you’d confess your feelings and he’d hate you and it would ruin your entire friendship.
Damien must’ve seen where you were heading though because he quickly followed behind and called out for you. “Y/n. We need to talk.”
You didn’t want to talk. You couldn’t. He hated you now. You had made him uncomfortable and now your friendship was ruined, broken. You just stopped and slowly turned around, looking up at a worried Damien. Might as well just let the waterfall out. “I can’t talk to you right now Damien because I know I’ll either end up kissing you or confess my feelings. I don’t want to do either but I don’t think I have a choice but do option two. Damien. I am heavily in love with you and have been for a year. I didn’t want to tell you because I knew it would end our friendship. You obviously don’t like me and that’s okay, no hard feelings at all but it just sucks knowing we won’t be friends anymore. I’m sorry if I made you uncomfortable with my comment earlier I didn’t mean to say it. Not at all.” You breathed out heavily and couldn’t meet his hard gaze. Here it comes, you thought to yourself. Here comes the rejection.
“Can I kiss you? Please?” That made you look up at him, a shocked expression on your now flustered face. He wanted to kiss you? He was breathing heavily and you nervously looked around the room. No one was even remotely close to you two. “Yes. Please.”
That made his restraints finally break and he captured your lips with a kiss, holding on hand on the back of your head and the other one on your waist, pulling you closer. You immediately responded to the kiss, deepening it as you grabbed onto his shirt, trying to pull his body as close as it could be to yours. When you finally pulled back you both were breathing heavily, foreheads against each other.
“I’m in love with you too.”, Damien responded, a toothy grin on his face. His damn face. It took every little vain in your body not to kiss him again. He had a very kissable face. Right now you didn’t need an explanation to why he loved you, or why you loved him. You knew that you two would talk about that later. Now, you just wanted to stand close to him, feel his warmth.
Maybe that comment wasn’t that bad after all..

Warnings: None, Damien Haas is a warning in itself tbh.
Summary: After yesterday’s games you haven’t been able to stop thinking about Damien, not being able to sleep. As the next game approaches, will you be able to keep your feelings to yourself or will the emotions in your throat finally spill over?

Day two of Smosh summer games: Who is most likely to..?
You arrived at the shooting location an hour before shooting, wanting to be early just to chit chat and mentally prepare yourself. Most people from crew and a lot of the cast was there as well, one of them being Damien. You just looked at him from afar, not wanting to strike up a conversation because of your secret feelings for him. He’d for sure notice you liked him if the two of you spoke to each other. You weren’t the most subtle person. Damien had most of his hair slicked back, apart from his bangs which were hanging loosely over his forehead. He was wearing long pants today, grey and teachery. You didn’t usually see him in these sorts of pants, since he had his own personal style most of the time. He was wearing the same vest as yesterday, this time over a long sleeved buttoned shirt with a tie to match once again.
After realizing you had been ogling him for way too long, you decided to go strike up a conversation with Alex Tran, wanting to chat a little with him because he was your friend, but also because he stood furthest from Damien at the moment. The two of you spoke a little of the games for the day and what you had been doing the night prior, basic stuff. After a while you heard footsteps behind you, someone was approaching. You hoped that it was literally anyone but Damien. You loved talking to him, especially when he started going on about his interests. You were a person who loved to talk and did so a lot, but with him you loved just sitting in silence to let him speak for long periods of time just about his hobbies and whatnot. Although you were fairly certain that if he’d talk to you right now you’d loose it and just confess on the spot. A thing about you was that you couldn’t keep things a secret for very long. Others secrets? You took them with you to the grave. Your secrets? Yeah someone is going to find out sooner or later. Especially when you were crushing on someone. You had a habit of being impulsive and sputtering out your feelings to someone way too early. For the first time in your life you had managed to go a full 7 months without telling Damien. It was for sure a new record. It was almost impressive in a way.
Unfortunately for you, it was Damien approaching. You felt his presence right behind you as he said a friendly “Hey guys.”, probably smiling if you’d be guessing. You couldn’t turn around, couldn’t look at him. Yesterday you hadn’t slept a second. All you had managed to do was stare at the ceiling, imagining how’d you tell Damien you were in love with him. Of course you wouldn’t tell him but it was good to know what you’d say if one day you’ll get an impulse again.
Alex responded with an immediate “Hi” but you couldn’t utter a word. It was like someone had stolen the breath from your lungs and replaced it with an ache. Thankfully neither Alex nor Damien commented on you not saying anything, the two of them striking up a conversation with each other. You stood frozen in place. Eventually you’d have to look at him, have to say something. But right now you just stood in silence, praying he’d go away. Still, a part of you was extremely glad he was here. It was Damien after all. Your friend. The friend you hadn’t let yourself get too close with. After a minute or two Alex excused himself, Spencer calling out for him. Now you and Damien were alone. You had to say something now. Your mouth opened but closed quickly when Damien spoke up from behind you.
“Hey are you okay?”, he asked as you turned around, now facing him instead of having him slightly behind you. He looked worriedly at you. He probably thought he had done something to upset you and you wouldn’t be able to handle that. You couldn’t stand seeing him all worried about you just because you couldn’t act normal around him.
“Yeah I’m alright, just tired. I couldn’t sleep anything last night.” That wasn’t entirely a lie, but also not the entire truth. To make him believe it more you gave him a soft smile, showing him how ‘alright’ you were. He looked a little less worried and put a hand on your upper arm, making your cheeks heat up and knees weak. “Please tell me if there’s something bothering you. Have I done something to make you uncomfortable?”, he asked, looking into your eyes in a way that made your heart ached. You wanted to reassure him, to yell at him that ‘I’m actually in love with you but I don’t want to tell you so I just go quiet because I don’t want you to see how nervous I end up whenever I’m around you’.
Instead you just gave him another strained smile. “No you haven’t done anything to make me uncomfortable. Not at all. I’m just tired, I promise.” You put your hand over his and met his gaze. God you really liked him. It almost hurt yearning for him. You wished you had the confidence to just tell him like you used to when you were in your only twenties. But it seemed impossible. He probably didn’t like you back and the shear embarrassment from telling him would make you quit the one job you have had that you actually love. You didn’t want to go back to late nights at the bar, doing standup for a few drunk men without getting anything in return. You wanted to be here, with your friends. If that meant you’d have to bury your feelings deep inside and never tell Damien how you really feel, you’d have to be okay with that.
————————————————————————
The game of the day was ‘who is most likely to’, where the two teams would send forward one player each who would have to answer a question on which one of their teammates was most likely to, or was the biggest [blank]. They’d have to try to get the same answers as the rest of the players in their team, the more matching answers, the more points. The game wasn’t too hard per se, but your tiredness and conflicted feelings definitely made your performance both in the game and on screen worse than it usually was. It felt like you were going to burst any minute and that you’d break down crying or pass out from exhaustion.
Damien spoke in the middle of the two podiums in his ‘superintendent’ voice, before calling forward the first to people to guess. You, and Ian. You immediately put on a fake smile, going up to the podium and talking to your team. Your brain was scrambled and it felt very relieving that Ian would be going first. He got his question, resulting in his team getting 2 points, and now it was your turn. Damien turned to you. “Y/N, who on your team is most likely to get detention.” You looked back at your team and then wrote a name on your board. This wasn’t too hard of a question. You were pretty sure you’d gotten the answer right. The people from your team one by one started to show their answers. Angela had picked Keith, Shayne had picked Keith, even Keith had picked Keith. You had an opportunity to score 5 points for your team…and you did! You had also written down Keith on your board. “I wrote the only person I figured would get detention here. I love the guy but I put… Keith!” Your team shouted ‘Wiener, wiener, wiener’ in unison before you went to sit down in the back again.
The rounds went on and it went surprisingly well for your team, and surprisingly bad for the dairy cows. It was pretty sweet to see almost everyone vote Courtney on ‘who is most likely to win prom queen/king?’. What you enjoyed more about this game than the last sports game, was that you could be more relaxed and not doing as much trash talking. It felt nice to just have a calm (as calm as it could get with these guys) game.
The funniest thing happened mid game, when Noah stood by the podium. The question had been ‘who is most likely to pull a senior prank?’. Everyone except Keith (who hadn’t seen Arasha apparently) had voted Arasha. She for sure was the one on the team who always pulled pranks, big ones like when she faked her engagement, and small ones just around the office. Like one time when she told a few people it was pajama day when it wasn’t. You had been fooled countless times. Suddenly out of nowhere Arasha said to Noah: “Oh Noah by the way I’m pretty sure I didn’t tell you.. I’m not actually getting engaged. That was a prank.” Noah looked absolutely shocked, looking into the camera and then at Arasha, then back into the camera again. “I was literally about to ask you why you weren’t wearing your ring before we started shooting!” He yelled at her. You all erupted in laughter as Olivia suddenly stood up and marched up to Arasha. “WHAT?! YOURE NOT GETTING MARRIED?!” She was in absolute shock as well. It was the greatest prank Arasha had ever pulled after all. Later, when filming a cut scene, she said she just figured the cast watched all the videos on the channel.
————————————————————————
After several rounds it stood 16/16. It was a tie breaker moment. You had barely registered what had been going on the entire game today. You were out of it to say the least. Hopefully you wouldn’t look too tired on screen. You always wanted to do your best when shooting, whatever it was. But today you just couldn’t do it. You talked sometimes but was mostly quiet the whole game. It wasn’t very fun but you were literally about to collapse or curl into fetus position and cry.
Your team sent forward Shayne to the tie breaker round, and the dairy cows sent forward Courtney. This was truly a big content moment. Everyone shouted in agreement and was very excited for these two competing against each other like this. “Alright. You both will answer the same question.. which is, who on your team is most likely to get voted class president?”, Damien said, looking at the two contestants. Everyone got quiet immediately and started writing down the answer on their boards. You went with your gut feeling, writing down Arasha. You’d easily vote her for class president, even president to be honest. When everyone had locked in their answers, a big silence brewed around the two teams. It was intense to say the least.
The dairy cows started to show who they had been voting for. Everyone had voted Courtney, except for Ian who had voted himself because in a literal sense he held the title as president if you really thought about it. Courtney was completely in shock that everyone had voted her. She herself had voted Ian, thinking like he had. She had never in a million years thought that they’d vote her for class president, but was visibly flattered by them.
Next up was your team. The majority had voted for Arasha, but two people had voted Keith. You say in anticipation, being nervous as you waited for Shayne to reveal his answer. “A great president can have different good qualities… being tall… being good at guessing. But in the end.. like we have seen the one who gets voted for president is the one who lies the most so I wrote down Arasha!”, Shayne yelled, making everyone shout out in happiness. You played along and was also very happy for your team as you jumped around, everyone basically yelling ‘fuck you’ to the other team. It was a sight. But it was kinda funny in a way that made you get a headache.
“Alright cut! That’s a wrap guys good work today!”, Alex Tran yelled out and everyone went to say good game to each other. Sure, in front of the camera most people would compete hard against each other, yelling at the opposite team and trash talk, but in the end everyone was friends and stayed that way. After you had talked a bit with everyone you decided to head home. This day hadn’t been a good one for you and you longed to go home and drink some tea while watching your comfort movies.
Before you could head to your car though, Damien approached you. You really didn’t want to talk to him right now but figured you’d cut the conversation short and then just leave really quickly. The two of you stood outside, no one around you.
“Hey good work today.”, he said with a small laugh before getting a bit more serious. “Are you okay y/n? I know you said earlier that you were just tired but.. well.. I can tell something’s bothering you and I just want to say that you can talk to me about it if you want to.” You truly didn’t know how to respond to that. You wanted to run away, to say you were fine, but your body wouldn’t let you. Your mouth opened and closed but no words got out. Damien spoke again, looking more worried. “Y/n if I did do something to you, or say something, please just tell me. I promise you that I won’t be offended or upset. I just want to know what’s wrong.”. Damien looked into your eyes and all your feelings rushed up, making your throat clogged with emotions. You tried to start a sentence, tell him he hadn’t done a single thing that had upset you. He couldn’t possibly. But when you opened your mouth again, the words coming out shocked you more than they shocked him.
“I’m in love with you.”
Your eyes immediately widened and so did his. You had not meant to say that to him. Before he could even react, reject you, you quickly walked away. “Okay I have to go now bye!”, you said quickly as you basically ran to your car, got in and drove off quickly. There is no way you actually just said that. You had just ruined everything. You could never come back to work again.
But if you had stayed just a moment longer, you would’ve seen the blush on Damien’s cheeks, the way his eyes lit up and the corners of his lips twitch into a smile.

A.N: (I just watched the first part of the smosh summer games and omg.. Damien Haas you will be the death of me. Anyway here’s a quick story)
Word count: 3K
Warnings: spoilers for the first episode of Smosh summer games 2005, y/n being very attracted to superintendents, Y/n having some dirty thoughts, Just Damien Haas existing tbh.
Summary: You try to focus the best on the different games but can’t help but stare at Damien. But let’s all be honest. Who wouldn’t?
————————————————————————
This was your first time being on Smosh summer games, having joined the cast about a year ago. You had seen the past games and heard the talks about them, but never had you thought you’d actually be in one yourself. As a teenager you weren’t very into sports and competitions in general, suffering from the great ‘performance anxiety’. You always put pressure on yourself whenever you were competing with another person, especially if you were on a team. You simply didn’t want to let the team down by losing or being bad.
Now, being about to compete against your coworkers (your friends), you wish you’d been more athletic when you were younger. It didn’t exactly help that you still spent your days on the couch reading, drawing or singing karaoke instead of going to the gym or just being athletic in general. You just couldn’t help being a tad bit nervous. Of course you knew that your coworkers wouldn’t be mean to you just for being bad.. but a very very small part of you just couldn’t help feeling like you’d let down your team.
————————————————————————
You were a part of the Hollywood hotdogs, or ‘the wieners’ as most people on the team called it. The two teams stood beside each other as Damien (the superintendent) explained the rules of the games of the day.
“Welcome, to Smosh summer games. Today we will be competing in get seventh, in real life. You will be competing in three different competitions where the goal is to get seventh. But! Be wary… as if you don’t get seventh, you will be ranked in which spot you get. So you want to get seventh… but also get first.”. He had his hands together in a very ‘teachery’ way. He was wearing a knit vest, over a short sleeved buttoned shirt with a tie. You tried your best to focus on what he was saying, you truly did… but something about the way he looked and the way he was speaking. It was weirdly attractive. You couldn’t help looking him up and down while biting down on your bottom lip. Him being a superintendent should not be this hot to you. You didn’t snap out of your trance until Angela started to trash talk the opposite team, especially Chanse. She was saying things like “ooo, look at me when I’m pooping my pants” and “I’m going to call my mommy cause Angela is winning so hard” as well as just making fart noises with her mouth. You joined in as well, trying your best to trash talk the other team, even though your eyes kept glancing Damien’s way.
Before the first game began, the two teams had to send forward one player to compete in rock paper scissors, or as Damien called it, ‘scissors paper rock’. Arasha from your team, and Olivia from the downtown dairy cows. Arasha lost and at first the other team celebrated cause they had won, but Arasha just smiled since she knew it was better to go last. Then, of course, a lot of trash talking broke out again. Chanse told Angela she smelt like hot dog water and Arasha told Chanse he sucked. You mainly just stood by, occasionally saying some trash talking but mostly just supporting your teammates, as well as glancing at Damien every now and then. Seriously, what business did he have being so attractive right now?! Sure you had always had a small crush on him, mostly because he was such a kind soul and because he was a bit of a nerd, something you desperately needed in your life. But it had been manageable. Now? You just wanted to pounce on him (give me five minutes and a hair tie am I right?). You just prayed he didn’t actually see the glances, or rather the staring, you were actively doing.
The first game was the 50 foot dash. The two teams would be running a 50 foot dash, either strategizing to get seventh, or try their best to get first. Your team came up with the idea to all try to get first. You were starting to feel that anxiety coming back but also your competitiveness. Ian started from the dairy cows, actually doing pretty well as he ran. Of course though, your team immediately tried to trash talk, Angela for some reason always saying “I’m going to piss my pants”, referring to chance or something. Some other people went from your team, most stumbling somehow but many also doing very well. When your turn was approaching, your nerves were shooting through the roof. You didn’t show them to your team at first, laughing and putting your game face on and you approached Damien. When you actually stood next to him though, your hands were shaking. This was just a friendly game, friends competing against each other. It shouldn’t mean anything. It was all for fun. The only problem was it definitely didn’t feel that way.
Damien must’ve noticed you were feeling panicky because he immediately reached for your hands, look you in the eyes and say “hey, it’s going to be okay. I promise.”, giving you a soft smile as he completely dropped his ‘act’. You retrieved his smile with a small one of your own and nodded, acknowledging that you were ready for this. He counted you down as your team cheered for you, and when he finally said “Go!”, you ran like your life depended on it. You had always been fast, that was a fact that few people actually knew. When you were a kid you used to race people for fun in school, always winning over everyone, sometimes even the teachers (though they may have been going easy on you). When you finally passed the finish line and the bell rang out you ran to hug your team, a big euphoric smile on your face, eyes beaming with excitement. Even the dairy cows were stunned. “How did we not know you could run that fast?!”, Tommy said with wide eyes. You just laughed and glanced at Damien, mouthing a quiet ‘thank you’ which he immediately smiled at. God you loved his smile.
The game ended fairly equal and you actually had no idea who’d won, yet both teams were confident that they had won themselves. It was a shit show, to put it in kind words. You didn’t really join in on all the shit talking, except for when you really felt the adrenaline rush. Your eyes kept straying to Damien, who had his back turned towards everyone. Deep down you felt a little bummed out that you couldn’t see his face, but at the same time grateful that he couldn’t see you blushing at the bare sight of his backside. As the yelling finally settled down he spoke up again.
“I wonder who won… now let’s move on to the next game!”
————————————————————————
The second game was the vertical leap, where the two teams would be jumping as high as they could (or of course aim for seventh place, as we knew no one actually would). Each player would go one by one and lock in their basic reach before jumping as high as they could, knocking different colored plastic thingies to the side. The height was specifically designed for your own height so that the shorter ones could actually reach and so that the taller ones wouldn’t have to reach over the top. Damien introduced the second game:
“How much of high can you jump? We’ll find out now.”, as he told you that the hotdogs (your team) would begin. Spencer chimed in saying “he’s probably letting you go first because you lost the first one”, in which your team went crazy and started yelling at him. Arasha went first, jumping fairly high (definitely not because of her bbl). Angela jumped pretty short, Spencer did a Mario jump which was the worst idea he could’ve possibly came up with, but it was funny. Chanse, Keith and Trevor jumped extremely high and you just stood there with your jaw dropped. How could literally anyone jump that high? You knew for a fact that you couldn’t. Jumping had never been a strong side of yours. Playing basketball in school was a let down every time. Not only could you not get the ball in the hoop, but you could barely even jump off the ground. This definitely wouldn’t go good, in any way.
Instead your thoughts and gaze drifted to Damien. There was no reason for him as a superintendent to look hot as hell. He was the man of your dreams, literally. It definitely didn’t help that he’d talk as he did. The way he basically guided some players through the jump. You wondered if he’d guide you through it while he was kissing down your neck, over your collarbone, going down further and further. Touching your body like a man starving as he mumbled filth into your ear. It was almost like you could hear him whisper your name, calling out to you. “Y/n….y/n…y/n! Are you ready for your turn?”, Damien asked, now looking at you kind of amused, clearly confused as to why you weren’t responding. Shit. Your cheeks turned bright red and you hoped no one would notice. You could always blame it on the heat! It 100 percent wasn’t because you had been imagining having intercourse with your coworker. You quickly snapped back to reality and put your game face on, slipping into your character again. “I was born ready.”. Chanse quickly responded. “Oh then why were you staring out into nothing for like 30 seconds?”, Tommy chimed in. “Yeah seems like the hotdogs have a hard time focusing, probably because of the meat stuffed brain.”. You obviously weren’t prepared to answer that but you did nonetheless. You were NOT about to take shit from them. “My mind may be full of meat but I will bring you to defeat!”, in which your team all went ‘ooooo!’. Your rhyme wasn’t even intentional but oh well.
You walked up to Damien and locked in your basic reach before squatting, jumping as high as you can. Everyone couldn’t help but laugh when you barely jumped off the ground. Like you had said before, jumping wasn’t your strong side. Damien giggled a little before going into his character again. “You definitely brought the other team to defeat with that one.”. Angela cheered you on as you walked back to your team again. Your teammates all cheered you on and gave you reassuring applause even though you did so bad. “I feel very defeated.”, Spencer said, in which you replied “At least I’m not shorter than a garden gnome! If I didn’t actively look down while walking towards you I’m pretty sure I’d crush you with my foot.”. Spencer quickly shot back with “You’re not even that much taller than me!” In which you just stuck your middle finger at him. Sure, you could’ve been more mature than that. But also, no you couldn’t.
Onto the next game..
————————————————————————
The football throw! It was time for the last game of the day of get seventh place irl. Damien started to explain the rules and this time you actually listened, not wanting to flop like you did last time. “Time for the final game of get seventh; The football throw! In this game you will each go up one by one and throw your ‘football’ as far as you can. Once you have thrown it, you will grab a cone and replace your football with it to mark where it landed. This time you will all actively see the cones displayed, making it more possible to strategize and actually get seventh. Let the games begin!”, he said, looking directly into the camera. Between a few lip bites and quick glances at Damien’s lips, you actually took in the rules this time. You didn’t exactly throw things often so it was just as big a mystery to you as to everyone else to see how far you’d throw. It was the hotdogs turn to begin this round as well. The trash talking just kept going and going, mostly consisting of Angela yelling at the opposite team and them yelling back. One time you had to hold her back from going to the other team. Why? Chanse had said she could throw short. It wasn’t a lie exactly, but you loved Angela way too much to even remotely agree with that statement. Again, the ones you expected to throw far, did throw far. Noah, Shayne, Keith and Trevor all threw extremely far. You were glad they were on your team because you would definitely not contribute to this as well as they did. Shayne had cannons for arms, Noah was very flexible, Keith was all around super talented and Trevor was.. Trevor. The other team was extremely good as well but they seemed to aim more for seventh place, strategizing more than your team had. Eh, it didn’t matter too much. You were sure that you’d be first in most games and that would for sure gain you multiple points. You could still win!.. right?
Your throw was pretty mediocre. If anyone asked you’d blame it on being tired or not even trying, but really it was because Damien was standing pretty close to you and that made you not being able to focus on anything other than his presence. You definitely liked him more than you thought you did.
————————————————————————
The final game was finally over and it was time to find out which team had won this day’s games. Damien started speaking again, calling out the scores. “Okay.. the first game, the 50 feet dash. In first place was.. Noah Grossman!” Everyone on the team cheered and jumped up and down, feeling strong so far. Damien continued.. “But let’s not forget that seventh place matters more… which was Arasha!” The team cheered even louder and it was looking really good for you. Your smile was huge and you could almost swear you felt Damien’s gaze on you for a second. But just as quickly as it appeared, it vanished. Your team won that round with a stunning 46 points! The cheers were loud and the other team gave a small applause even though they were a little bummed out. “Moving onto the vertical jump”, Damien declared. “In first place, Trevor Evarts!” Once again, your team cheered, everyone yelling and Angela shoving it in the Dairy cows’s faces. “But in seventh place… Shayne topp!” You couldn’t actually believe what was happening. It definitely looked positive for your team. You had once again won the round, this time with a whole 53 points! Now only the last game was left. The football throw. Damien declared the ranks again. You all pretty much knew the scores for the last round. Courtney had gotten seventh place and Trevor had gotten first. This time, your team won overall again! It was like the other team feared victory. You had won with 141 points, while the dairy cows only had 95. Yet there were still many games left…
————————————————————————
“And cut!”, you heard Alex Tran yell before both teams hugged and fell back into themselves again, chatting about all the games and how fun they all had been having. You walked next to Damien (definitely not on purpose).
“Good job out there.”, he said with the cutest, most teethy smile you had ever seen before. It honestly made your cheeks redder than they probably ever had been.
“Thank you.. although I was definitely very average. Thanks for helping me when I got nervous back there in the beginning. These competitive team games always get to me somehow. It’s like I’m an awkward teenager again in PE trying not to cry when I run slower than another person on my team.”, you exhale, smiling back at him softly with slightly tired eyes. This day had been tough.
“I totally understand. I’m just happy to help.”, he replied, looking at you for a beat longer than usual. His eyes had softened yet they still held that cosmic glow they always did.
Suddenly, out of nowhere Angela popped out from behind you, making you jump and scream. “Angela!”, you yelled at her.
“What? I just wanted to hang outttt..”, she responded, a huge grin on her face. Angela knew about your little crush on Damien. She was the only person who knew… you think. You were pretty sure that no one could see the way you looked at Damien.. but not 100%.
“What happened back there anyway? You just completely disappeared.”, she said, looking at you with knowing eyes. You were not about to talk about your dirty thoughts about Damien right in front of him.
“I just completely zoned out to be honest.”, you responded, looking at Angela as if to say ‘shut up right now or I’ll literally kill you’ before shifting your gaze to look at Damien, who was already looking at you.
“Yeah sure.. totally, you definitely just ‘zoned out’.”, Angela snickered before walking off to join Chanse and Tommy.
You felt like dying, your face was probably beet red but thankfully Damien didn’t acknowledge what Angela had said, instead he walked a little closer to you, smiling like you just had gotten married. Wearing one of the hottest things you’d seen him in (you had odd taste okay?). How would you be able to handle the upcoming days?
You were screwed.

————————————————————————
Ever since you started working at Smosh a year ago your life has taken a huge turn. You’ve met countless new friends, upped your mental health and have improved your life in general. Smosh is basically a second home for you. When starting the job you worked as a sound technician but have gradually moved into the main filming cast, being in many videos. People like your energy and enthusiasm, as well as your ability to say…unhinged things. Safe to say you fit right in with the others.
There was only one small problem… you were in love with your coworker. The crush had started on your first day of work. You had given yourself a small tour around the office and eventually happened to come by where Damien was working, brows drawn tightly together and a slight frown on his face. He was seemingly very focused on whatever he was typing on his computer. You were a little nervous as this was your first day so you didn’t want to disturb the clearly focused man in risk of ruining his ‘flow’. Yet you felt like it would be rude not to introduce yourself and just walk right past him. While you were heavily engaged in heavy thinking, he had noticed you were just standing there by his desk. Immediately he smiled and introduced himself, causing you to snap out of your own world.
“Hey! You must be the new sound tech! Im Damien, nice to meet you!”, he said while extending his hand towards you.
The second he spoke your cheeks went rosy. He had only said a few words to you but the butterflies in your stomach were flapping their wings harder than they should. After realizing you had been staring at the poor man for about five seconds you finally replied, clearing your throat before speaking. Had it suddenly become very hot in here? “I’m y/n, it’s nice to meet you too.”, you said with an awkward smile, taking his hand in yours and shaking it.
After that you went on with your small tour, feeling you had embarrassed yourself enough for the day.
As weeks passed you and Damien grew closer. You found him easy to talk to and he had this aura that made you relaxed when being around him. Damien was comfortably confident and sure about himself in a way you admired. The bar was low. Weeks turned into months and you two became good friends. You had regular hangouts at each other’s places and spoke on the phone almost every night. It was perfect, well except for the fact that your crush only had intensified. When you hung out you tried your best to be composed and put together, not wanting to be too obvious with how hard you were falling for him, but sometimes you’d slip up, staring at him for too long with those affection filled eyes, a cheesy smile on your lips. Of course you’d never actually tell him how you were feeling. You just couldn’t. It simply wasn’t worth it. At this point you had accepted the fact that he didn’t like you and that there never would be anything between the two of you except for friendship, even though your chest ached every time you saw him or heard his voice.
———————-. . . . . . . .———————————-
Today was a regular filming day, just like normal. You had a pretty busy schedule but nothing too crazy. In the morning you had a meeting with the art department, discussing clothing for an upcoming sketch. After that you were set to film a tntl (try not to laugh) with some of the crew. Later in the afternoon you were filming a Mario kart blindfolded challenge with Angela as your partner, as well as Shayne and Trevor who would be partnered up. The rest of the day would be spent at your desk, writing ideas for upcoming projects.
Your day went on smoothly, and as your Mario kart video was approaching Damien walked up to you.
“Hey y/n did you get the message from Alex?”, he asked. “Uh nope. What’d he send?”, you replied, a little confused. “Oh yeah so since Angela is sick I’ll be hopping in as your partner for the Mario kart thing.” You wish you could hide your surprise. A part of you was extremely excited to shoot a video with Damien, especially one where he’d be your partner. Yet another part of you was nervous. He’d be sitting close next to you and give you directions. You’d heard him give directions to other people in videos before; it was quite literally the hottest things on this planet. You were pretty sure that your cheeks would go bright red and that you’d say something you’d regret later. The viewers had been shipping you for a while now, not only in the comments but also on TikTok where they made ship edits of you two, saying stuff like:
“They are literally made for each other”
“If they don’t kiss soon I will attack them”
“Who will be the Damien to my y/n?”
You’d be lying if you said their comments didn’t help feed into your delusions that you and Damien someday will finally be together. You’d also be lying if you said you didn’t save and like every video that came onto your fyp. You specifically had a private account dedicated to liking ship stuff between you two and many Damien edits. He was already hot but those edits made your thoughts quite literally filthy.
——————-. . . . . . . . . . .————————————-
You, Damien, Shayne and Trevor were being mic’d up just before the video would start. You could feel Damien looking at you but internally shook your head, it didn’t mean anything. The four of you sat down and it was hard not to think about how close Damien was next to you. You swore you could smell his cologne as well as feel the warmth radiate off of him. This would be a long video. As the cameras started rolling you quickly composed yourself, going into your little character. Shayne made the intro and spoke into the camera. “Today we are playing Mario kart… but with a twist. One of us will be blindfolded and the other one has to guide the other through a game. We will then switch and the person who was previously blindfolded will have to guide the one who wasn’t, so on and so on. The team who wins after twenty full matches wins the whole game!” He said with enthusiasm, as the rest of you wooed and ooed. Shayne continued speaking. “The teams are me and Trevor and y/n and Damien!” Shayne exclaimed and Trevor yelled that they were going to win, in which Damien yelled that you were going to win.
The game started and you were the one who’d start with guiding Damien, as Trevor was going to guide Shayne. The bright side with Damien being blindfolded first was that you could stare at him for how much and how lovingly you wanted to because he couldn’t see. The downside was that you knew the comments would go crazy if you did. As the race begun, you tried explaining the best you could but Damien was… to say it nicely, not very good. You kept breaking out into laughter as you saw him hit the wall for the 50st time. You tried explaining to him that he had to go right but he kept going left.
“I am going right!” He yelled, as he once again went left.
“Do you know left or right Damien cause you are very clearly going left.”, you replied, trying your best not to laugh.
Damien ended being 7th while Shayne ended up being 2nd. Not too bad but you definitely had to carry next round to catch up. You switched with him and put on the blindfold. Immediately Damien said “let’s see how easy you think it is now y/n.”, with a smirk you couldn’t see. The second race begun and yeah.. it was hard. You weren’t the best at Mario kart even though you’d never admit that but being blindfolded and trying to win was just impossible. At first you were in last place, while Trevor was doing very well. Shayne just said “We’re easily beating you two.” and Trevor just laughed. You replied with “Shut up I’m gonna get first!” while looking focused. Damien wasn’t given many good directions at first but after seeing how far behind you were he locked in, now doing his best to guide you. He spoke in a lower tone and started to guide you through the race. His voice was very hot and as much as you appreciated the help and directions, the moment he started saying things like “Yeah just like that keep going” and “You’re doing so well” while guiding you, you were almost certain he was trying to kill you. Your cheeks were strikingly red and before you could stop yourself you said; “The way you’re talking me through this right now is extremely hot but not very helpful cause I can’t focus.” Just when you thought your mind had finished its sputtering of truths you spoke up again. “Please don’t stop though. Please.”
Okay that was it, you were officially dead. You were very glad that the blindfold was covering your eyes because you did not want to see the look on anyone’s face right now.
Shayne immediately yelled “WHAT?!” and broke out into uncontrollable laughter as well as the whole crew did. There was no getting out of this one. Damien must’ve seen your clear embarrassment or just felt awkward because he quickly said “now’s our chance!” and kept giving you directions while Shayne was still dying of laughter. You ended up in first place while Trevor ended up almost last! At least something good happened from the very embarrassing situation.
The game kept going and in the end you won. Shayne and Trevor both swore it was because of what you had said. They said that “it should be considered cheating because of how out of pocket it was”. You just felt embarrassed and flustered. Not once did you glance in Damien’s direction. You could not bear seeing the look on his face which would probably be disgust or awkwardness. Why would you even say that?
Shayne did the outro and then you all got unmic’d. The crew all gave you looks and Spencer said “the comments are going to be intense.”. You just gave a strained laughed and tried to slip out of the room before someone, Damien, would try and talk to you. Unfortunately, you hadn’t been fast enough cause right before you were about to step out, footsteps quickly approached behind you. You didn’t even have to look to know who it was. Shit. You slowly turned around and tried to look as composed and relaxed as possible, which probably ended up with you looking like you tried to suppress a fart. Damien just looked at you with slightly nervous eyes and said “Can we talk? Alone?” In which you immediately responded with a quiet “yes.”
———————. . . . . . . . . .————————————
Damien opened the door to an empty meeting room and the two of you walked in before he closed and locked the door behind him. You could feel your heart racing and your brows drawing together as you looked anywhere to avoid Damien’s gaze. He cleared his throat slightly before speaking up.
“Not sure how to begin this conversation but uhm..-“
You cut him off completely before he even could finish his sentence. There was no way out of this. No reason to lie anymore. It was pretty apparent how you felt and he obviously didn’t like you back. Well, might as well just tell him the whole truth.
“I’m pretty much in love with you Damien. Which now that I say it out loud sounds pretty intense. Doesn’t make it less true though. I have been crushing on you from the moment we met. You know how much I hate the whole ‘love at first sight’ thing but yeah.. it might actually be true in this case. There’s just something about you that I can’t explain with words how much I adore. You’re my best friend and I know that I probably won’t be after this but I just needed you to know… that I love you. I’m so sorry if what I said made you uncomfortable at all or if it made you upset. It was a stupid impulse. You’re just so perfect and every night I lay awake and think about that, about you, us.” You kept talking, blabbering on with the anxiety building up in your throat. You hadn’t even looked at Damien yet. But when you did, he didn’t have a look of disgust like you had anticipated, instead he had a smile on his face and just waited for you to finish talking, seemingly being in no hurry.
“I should probably stop talking.”, you said with huff of a laugh and let him speak for once. You fidgeted nervously with your fingers and braced for the inevitable, him rejecting you. “Y/n I’m in love with you too.” What? He surely must be lying right? “I have been for a long time. I didn’t have the guts to say anything or make a first move because of our friendship. It wasn’t worth it to me to ruin that special bond between us just because of a crush I had on you. And I do very much have a crush on you too so you don’t have to worry about that.” He smiled and held onto your hands. “The first time I saw you, I knew I would never forget you. You’re funny, intelligent, caring and absolutely beautiful. Who wouldn’t like that?”
By this point you almost started tearing up. Everything he said, how he said it. It all confirmed exactly why you loved this man. “We’ll start slow.. or we can go fast. We will do it at your pace, our pace. If you want to that is.”, he said with a cheesy smile, his cheeks just as red as yours. “Of course I do!”, you responded with a laugh. You stood there staring at each other for a while before Damien spoke up again. “So you think it’s hot when I talk you through it huh?” You lightly pushed his chest and laughed. “Hey! Take me on a date first.”
“Deal.”

HEY AGAIN !!!!!! I really hope you enjoyed this as much as I did ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I’m also very sorry if there’s something in here that’s not super good. This if my first story ever after all. I was missing some Damien stories so I figured I’d contribute with my own one! Please let me know if you have any suggestions and if you want another story!
Summary: When Spencer and Y/n get involved in a project together, they form a connection through conversations at midnight.
Word count: 2.0k
Warnings: Swearing
“Hello, everyone, welcome back to-” Arasha started the intro, but was interrupted by someone behind the cameras
“Hold! Sorry, it’ll be quick” A few crew members stepped into the games set to fix something with the lights
You were looking down, adjusting your clothes, when you spotted your drink right next to your feet. You looked up at Spencer. Who was sitting down at the Board AF table, chess board in front of him.
Spencer flashed you a grin and nodded in secret.
You took a step to the side and “accidentally” dropped your drink, causing it to tumble down and create a spill on the wooden floor .
“Shit, I’m so sorry” You covered your mouth with your hands, in (fake) shock, despise felling actually a little guilty
Spencer got up in a second, faking a passive aggressive tone “This is why we have a no drinks on set rule”
Immediately after he said that, he felt a tightness in his chest. Being so direct was unusual for him, specially like this - specially to you - “That was a joke, sorry” He added, offering you a shy smile
You smiled back. You noticed his expression immediately after he said it, and you couldn’t help but feel a little sorry for him. “It’s okay, it’s my fault”
“Don’t worry, it happens” He finished cleaning the floor and started walking over to his seat
You noticed Angela’s expression. She went into full acting mode and was looking at you two as if you were her parents arguing.
She looked over at Arasha and you made eye contact with Spencer once again. He secretly shot you a wink before turning to the chess board. You felt your whole face heat up and crossed your arms, refocusing your mind on something else. Oh wow the ceiling looks great today!
You self pitied the part of you that felt flustered by Spencer’s presence. Gosh, why, why, why?????
Angela interrupted your embarrassing thoughts “You good?” She asked
“Yeah,” You affirmed “Just a bit cold”
“We can turn off the A.C-” Angela started but Spencer was quick to interrupt her - with a certain urgency, you noted
“You can take my jacket, it’s on that chair” He pointed to a chair a few feet away from you, with his denim jacked placed on top of it
You looked at his face, trying to decipher if this was a complete honest moment or if it was a part of the plan you missed. He looked at you with kind eyes. You settled on the second option, for the sake of your own heart.
You walked over to the chair and picked up the jacket, putting it on. You hated to admit it, but it was extremely comfortable. You could faintly make out the smell of kickstart and Spencer’s cologne in the fabric.
You were in the writing pods with Erin, when Angela came bursting in, dragging a disheveled-looking Spencer along with her.
“SHE BOUGHT IT!!” She whispered yelled
“Did you really have to drag me here? What happened to ‘Hello, Spencer, my great coworker, how are you? Please follow me this way’” You laughed at his annoyed monologue
“Spencer, don’t fucking do this. ANYWAYS, IT WORKED!” Angela was full on shouting by this point
“Angela, be quiet” Erin laughed out
“It’s lunch time, it doesn’t matter,” She shrugged it off “anyways, I was telling Amanda and Chanse about you two hating each other’s guts”
You and Spencer shared a look but she continued “And Arasha was there, and she was like defending you, I personally think she got kind of annoyed, like I know it was playful but-”
“Angela” Erin interrupted “Did it work, or not?”
“HELL YES” She jumped in celebration and you smiled at your energetic friend “This bit city episode is about to be the best, I can SEE the views. 1 million…. 2 million… 3 BILLION” She gestured dramatically
“That’s a bit far fetched but okay” Spencer added and you burst out laughing
“Spencer calm down, just because it’s not your baby, Smosh Games, doesn’t mean its not important” She added, acting sassy
You were all laughing when you asked “What else are you guys doing?”
“Like two more ridiculous rumors, then we’re done” Erin answered “Not about you guys, though”
“Good, no more spills” Spencer joked
“Also, guys, why didn’t you tell us you were also doing the jacket thing? That was like, the cherry on top” Angela asked
You looked expectantly at Spencer, who appeared to be uncomfortable, as if he already felt guilty for something he hasn’t said yet.
“I- um yeah, I just saw the opportunity and took it” He didn’t look at you
Your heart dropped for a few seconds. You had already came to that same conclusion, but this tiny little part of you, a void in your brain that would whisper it’s thoughts, grieved the other possibility.
“Great call” You smiled at him and he could see right through your fake expression. None of you said anything after, just watching Angela dramatically act out the conversation she just had.
When Spencer had to go shoot a video, he hesitated to leave. He cleared his throat and awkwardly turned around to meet you
“I, um- great job”
Really Spencer, ‘great job?’ Really? He thought to himself, swearing he would never talk to any woman ever again after this interaction.
But all his doubts went away when you beamed at him “Thanks Spencer, you also did a great job”
Nope, forget about it, he wasn’t a loser, after all.
You really tried to not expect it. You brushed your teeth, turned off your lights and laid down in your bed. But something kept you up. You really really didn’t want to be this frustrated, but you were. You knew it was completely illogical, but you felt it anyway. You pondered getting up to get your phone, but it was a crazy idea, right? Yes, totally ridiculous, you would just turn around, shut your eyes and magically go to sleep.
Little did you know, Spencer was suffering from the exact same problem. Lying in bed, he would try to focus on the game in front of him, but after a few moments, he would find his finger hovering over the ‘call’ button.
You know what? Fuck it.
The speed in which you got up, picked up your phone and answered Spencer’s call was just plainly insane, you deemed it.
“Hi” You said, a little breathless
“Hey, that’s was quick” You felt your cheeks heating up, thank god he couldn’t see you in this moment
“I- uh- Why did you call?” You scrunched your nose in embarrassment. Y/n, why were you like this?
“Um- Good question. Can I say ‘out of habit’ and you pretend to believe it?” You could make out a tint of nervousness in his voice, which you thought was adorable
“Sounds great” You agreed, eager to forget your embarrassment as soon as possible. You noticed the lack of clicking sounds from the other line “No controller today?”
“No, I was actually playing on my phone”
“What game?” You fell into your normal conversation
“Balatro” He answered
“I see Shayne has already convinced you to buy it” You joked
“I honestly think he might be trying to get everyone in the office on it” You laughed
You and Spencer managed to talk about everything and anything at all. You explained to him your childhood, your hobbies and funny stories about your Smosh audition and he got into the details of surviving on a few hours of sleep, becoming a director and his favorite genres of games. Today felt a little different from the other days, as if the playful dynamic you would always fall into was long gone, only remaining the true curiosity you had for each other. Every time he shared something you felt like you understood him more, like it was a puzzle piece that fit perfectly into the picture of Spencer in your head.
“Okay, but seriously, did you not play any video games when you were a child?” His voice got lower with the hours, you could feel the tiredness in it
“I mean, I played arcade games, like a lot” You shared “My dad owned the local arcade so I would wait there after school, until it was closing time”
“You do realize that’s like every child’s dream, right?” You shared a lazy laugh, your stomach hurting by this point into the call “What arcade games did you play?”
You thought back on those childhood memories you cherished so much “My dad had this vintage Donkey Kong machine, that one was my favorite”
“I loved Donkey Kong” Spencer gasped “To be honest I loved going to the arcade in general, once I snuck out in the middle of the night to go to this 24/7 arcade close to my house”
“First of all: Insane lore drop. Second of all: Did you get caught?”
“Nope, I don’t think my parents ever found out, actually” You laughed at the image of mini Spencer in his pajamas, playing with a machine too big for him to barely even reach the controllers
Spencer sighed, he liked hearing your laugh “I don’t even know why I said that, I’ve never told that story to anyone else”
“Well, I’m honored” You felt the infamous butterflies in your stomach ”Your secret’s safe with me, by the way”
Spencer stared at his ceiling “It’s easy to tell you stuff” He whispered, the moment feeling too fragile. Like if he were to use his normal voice, it would break the spell
“What do you mean?” You whispered back
“Like, I don’t have to overthink it, I just say it and I know you’ll either laugh or be interested in it” His voice has a certain rawness to it. While you were still very sleepy, a part of your mind was wide awake, truly realizing what Spencer has just told you “Unless you’re just a really good actress”
“No, I’m interested” You were quick to clarify “I don’t know if it’s something about the whole video games nerd, or…” You slowed down
“Or what?” The hoarse voice in the other end of the call asked
“Or if it’s just you, but I want to understand everything about it. About you” You managed to punch out “I’m sorry of that sounds creepy or weird, or-”
“It doesn’t” he cut you off “You don’t even know, y/n, but it helps. A lot. You asked me questions about the most random stuff and I felt like I was finally being known… I think this helped me realize how alone I felt before”
He talked about this as if it was permanent, and it sparked your heart with the possibility. Over this last few days, you truly realized how much you loved and cherished his presence around you. You couldn’t help but feel at least a little hopeful.
“I really like your presence” You confessed “I never thought I’d say this but I think normal people need to normalize this more. It feels nice to just… talk to you”
“Thank you for admitting it” He lazily joked “Tell me more about that arcade” He whispered in the quiet of the night, like it was a secret just between you two
You talked about the memories you had with your dad and the games you would play. Spencer had a way of making you feel like you weren’t just saying words, but actually sharing a part of you with him.
“But yeah, I don’t remember much” You waited for his answer, but it never came “…Spencer?”
You glanced down at your phone. It was 00:42 and it showed you had been on call for almost three hours.
You realized he must’ve fallen asleep at some point in the conversation. If it was anyone else, you would’ve probably felt a little offended, but coming from the guy who claimed he couldn’t sleep before 2 a.m, you couldn’t help but feel a little special.
You knew it came from a place of being comfortable, not boredom, and that was enough to make your heart race.
