Did we ever talk about these two at all? Hahha! I think we got a little caught up in ~Mauric (how could we not????) and yeahhh. These two might be a little more tough bc quartermasters have agents between them and villains I guess but yeah. Soooo, when Scarlett sees Auric, who resembles his father (the man she’s spent her life running from 5eva), she’s gonna freak out and call Jason to come help her. That might tie K in bc obv Jason’s supposed to be dealing with No and between Scaramanga and Goldfinger, he’s a little ~distracted, which isn’t really a good thing for business, I shouldn’t think???? Hahahah! So yeah I don’t really know where I’m going with that…but there’s two cents for you HAHAHAH And now I gotta run!

IKR?!?!?! How could we ever not get caught up in those two BEAUTIFUL CREATURES. AUGH. bbys. my heart is not enough.

But yeah, these two will be tough just because of the layers between them. Plus we're already gonna have Mina as the one with the connection to her parents, so that avenue might be a bit shut off for Auric.

Though K would be pretty miffed that Jason is basically doing anything BUT his job rn. Haha. I don't know exactly what she'd do about any of it, and probably wouldn't confront Auric....

Which on the other hand would probably be HILARIOUS. Because Kaitlyn has no reason to snow him, so she'd be all kinds of bitchy and sassy and like:

"Back the fuck up, okay? I got shit to do and you're mucking everything up, wanker. You stay out of my business, I stay out of yours, capieche?!" All the while probably poking him in the chest with her pointer finger, all like 120 pounds of her puffed up next to Auric.

....And now part of me really wants this to happen. xD

Because, let's face it, Kaitlyn's dabbled in his world before. He wouldn't really scare her that much on paper. Haha.

Full of Surprises | Stuart & K

Two down, one to go...

Kaitlyn let out a breathy sigh as she watched Bijou wander away from her office. The woman had been exceedingly kind during their introductory interview. Almost too nice, if Kaitlyn was to be honest with herself. One look at her new quartermaster and Bijou had switched from quiet respect to almost manic mothering. She had promised to bring Kaitlyn all sorts of things to help her 'get settled' because 'surely she needed a guiding hand here.'

This was all going to be a lot more difficult than she had anticipated.

Thankfully there was only one more agent of hers to meet today, and then she'd be able to just go home and rant to Malcolm about how terrible first days always were.

Then again, the Agents Gidding and York had invited her out for drinks after work as a sort of welcome-party. Perhaps it would be better to go with them. The girls seemed nice, not to mention rather extraordinary, even by MI-6 standards. A small smile crossed her face as she leaned back and quietly imagined what a real life with real friends and stability would be like. It had been so long...

Slowly Kaitlyn pulled herself from her daydream in order to glance at her watch.

"Hmm... Agent Thomas was supposed to be here five minutes ago." She murmured, pulling out his file to check and see if lateness was a trait she'd have to watch out for.

Then again, it had been nice to have a bit of breather today of all days.

OH MY GOSH. ;DD I actually love that idea tho b/c 1) I can totalllly see Malcolm and Stuart being friends. I feel like Stuart has a thing for computers and that’s one of his strong suits out in the field — him being all ~tech savvy. And I can see him and Malcolm geeking out together. Also 2) b/c it’s hilarious also Kaitlyn’s face when she finds out hahaha. ;DD 

Also oh man, I feel like Stuart would feel like important and bad ass that he knows something the rest of the agents don’t, hee. (even though he’s doing something wrong he justifies this b/c he knows that Kaitlyn would be a top notch quartermaster anyway so where’s the harm)

And awwee!! Haha. I bet Kaitlyn would love that, though. Because Stuart probably is ADORABLE when he thinks he's being bad-ass. haha. <3 Kaitlyn would just giggle to herself like: "ah, yes, good. you're so very dangerous, Agent Thomas." ;D

And yes to both questions! I can start them off in a second since you started Alex and Kaitlyn. It's just that I have to remember what order I was gonna have Kaitlyn meet the agents in. xDDD

So it's like Dominique was almost related to Kaitlyn, and Dominique is the target of Stuart.

Stuart is best friends with Malcolm, who is also best friends with Kaitlyn and helped her get her place at MI-6.

Kaitlyn is Stuart's Quartermaster, and is known by Stuart to be a fake...

Hmmm. idk, man. I might just be tired, but nothing is jumping out at me. Other than maybe Malcolm is part of a drug ring too. (Which wouldn't be too surprising, tbqh. He's an early friend for Kaitlyn, so he's probably at least a vaguely shady dude.)

Keep Awake | Alex & K

The frozen ground crunched underfoot as Alex left headquarters. He had kept odd hours as an agent, but he might have an even less routine schedule as a quartermaster. But then, that might be of his own doing, too. Alex did everything he could to keep busy.

He wasn’t the only person leaving at 4AM. Kaitlyn Jacobs was coming up from behind him, her shoes clicking on the pavement. She looked exhausted and Alex had a sneaking suspicion that it was her agents (or agent) that was as much of a cause of it as her lack of sleep. 

He slowed to keep in pace with her, “Seems kind of ridiculous, doesn’t it?” He asked, “Heading home when we’ll be reporting back in two hours,” He said, through a smile, “Fancy a cup of tea or something? If we can find a place that’s open, that is. On me.”

He realized as soon as he asked that she might just prefer the hour of sleep she could could rather than just staying up. Most people weren’t eager to avoid sleep like Alex was anymore. 

"Although, you look like you might just want to go to sleep more," He added, quickly.

Kaitlyn was beat... She had sent Jason out on a trial mission, nothing life-threatening or serious, but enough to test how their interactions would flow on a much higher-risk mission. He'd whined and groaned and tried to wheedle his way out of trailing a money laundering setup that serviced a rather large terrorist cell that MI-6 had been keeping an eye on for a while.

Too boring, too easy, I'll have it wrapped up in an hour...

Dull...

Kaitlyn eventually had called the man's bluff, insisting that he go out and show her, then. Challenged him to actually solve and wrap up the mission within an hour. What had transpired came to a day-long struggle between agent and quartermaster as they tried to navigate their way through the mission, leaving Kaitlyn unable to finish up paperwork and her other duties until the wee hours of the morning.

So when she heard Alex's familiar voice coming up next to her, Kaitlyn looked over at the man with a look of pure relief.

"Completely ridiculous." She replied, shaking her head. "I was prepared for late nights, but the early mornings that follow... Not as much."

The girl shifted her purse a little higher up on her shoulder and a small smile blossomed over the girl's face as Alex awkwardly offered to take her out for tea before instantly fumbling about to say she didn't have to come if she wanted to sleep. This was adorable. He was adorable. It was a welcome change from the screaming matches she'd had all day today.

So instead of making a non-comittal response, instead of admitting that indeed she had been on her way home for a nap, Kaitlyn merely looked up at the young man, smiling and nudging his shoulder with her own. "You know what? I would absolutely love a cup of tea. I actually know a little place not too far from here. Open all night, makes a wonderful cuppa and even serves breakfast. Sound good to you?"

"Dull," Jason Walters was rolling his eyes away from his new quartermaster, irritation rolling off him. Everyone knew how poorly he took transitions, but that was hardly K’s fault. "Why don’t you both Stuart with that? I’m sure he’d jump at the chance.” “Maybe Stuart has more important things to do.” Jackie’s voice rang down the corridor as she waltzed towards them. “Other than being a jackass. Or were you hoping M would march down here and put the orders directly on your desk?” Jackie arched her brows, irritated. “Go on, then.” Pursing his lips, Jason turned on his heel and struck out towards R’s office. With a sigh, Jackie stretched out her hand towards K. “I’m sorry about that. He’s…a piece of work. He’s just sore because his best friend’s a quartermaster and he was hoping he’d get assigned to him. It’s nothing you’ve done, trust me: he’s always like that. In any case, I’m 006 - Jackie Giddings. If you have any questions…” she shrugged. “I remember all too well what it’s like to be new here: I’m a transfer, myself. Not easy, is it? I promise it’ll grow on you.” She paused. “Would you like to get some tea, perhaps? Or a grand tour, if you like? I want to make you feel comfortable, here. It’s not a regular kind of job, but it’s a good one, notwithstanding.”

Kaitlyn rubbed at her forehead as Jason continued to moan and gripe about his assignment. These headaches were going to be a regularity she could tell, and made a mental note to stock one of her desk drawers full of aspirin.

But like magic, the whining stopped at the sound of a woman's voice. Slowly followed by... Jason actually doing something he was told?

The girl glanced up quickly, giving a sheepish but grateful smile to the red-head that stood before her. Will had given her a quick run-down of the big names at MI-6 as they unpacked her things and set up her office that morning, and if her memory served her, Jackie Giddings was right up there on the list.

"It's... It's fine. Everyone's a bit tense on a first day. And, it's a pleasure to finally meet you, Miss Giddings. I've heard good things about you. Almost wish you had been assigned to me instead!" She finally said with a bit of a laugh, shaking Jackie's hand before gesturing for her to take a seat if she wanted. "Though I didn't know he had wanted to be assigned to Alex... I knew they were friends, or at least Alex said as much when he stopped by earlier and warned me a little about Jason, but I hadn't known that he had asked to be assigned to Alex specifically..."

Kaitlyn pursed her lips a bit, twiddling her pen once more. That would help explain quite a few things about their disastrous meetings and his terrible behavior. Striking out at her for things neither of them could control, obviously. The girl shrugged her shoulders and glanced back at Jackie, putting on another bright smile.

Here was another chance to worm her way into the hearts of MI-6. From  what Kaitlyn understood from Will's discussion earlier, to get to Jackie Giddings was to get to Marcie York. The two were nigh inseparable (so it was odd THEY weren't assigned the same Quartermaster, Kaitlyn mused), not to mention highly influential as many of the agents regarded them with respect.

"In any case, tea and a grand tour would be lovely, you're very kind. William gave me a quick run down of the place and of the people to look for, but I had meetings scheduled one after the other straight away, so I haven't quite gotten the chance yet to snoop around." Another gentle laugh bubbled from Kaitlyn, ticking a lock of hair behind her ear before she realized...

"Oh my goodness. I'm so sorry. I just realized I never introduced myself as well. I'm Kaitlyn... Kaitlyn Jacobs, or K if you prefer." The girl's hands flitted about as she flushed. "I suppose I'm not quite as prepared for all of this as I thought."

HAHA, yes! Stuart is really a pretty open book. Like maybe too much so?? If there’s something in his head, he will say it. Which actually made me wonder about his ~sins? Like do you think he could possibly have figured out about Kaitlyn and how she got here? And maybe he’s even gone so far as to help her keep her cover??

Like haha, what if Stuart knows Malcolm? The boy she's friends with from Liverpool who basically got her into MI-6 by hacking the systems, and then all of a sudden Malcolm calls her like: "...So. Um. There might be someone at MI-6 to watch out for? Apparently my mate Stuart? Yeah, totally an agent there. Ah... That might be a slight problem as I may have mentioned something about all of this to him when we went out for drinks?!"

And Kaitlyn is just sitting there with her face in her hand like: "You bloody idiot... Please tell me you at least put him in a place where I can keep an eye on, or better yet, control him?"

"Of course, I'm not a total wanker. He's going to be one of your agents now..."

....NOW THIS IS THE STORY ALL ABOUT HOW.... XD

But basically I'm saying that'd be gr8. Kaitlyn needs a little boost to keep her cover anyway. Stuart could be her non-paper-trail qualifier.

(NOTE FOR KATE: And maybe because it's Stuart, it could still work with Jason saying that there was no relationships to be heard of dealing with her? Because Jason doesn't really consider Stuart a viable source of info or something? Just trying to weave erryone together. haha.)

Okay, so I definitely think that these two would be friends?? Especially since people look at both of them like ~what are you even doing here??? And I think that they both are far more capable than people give them credit for and especially since K’s Stuart’s quartermaster I feel like they’d kinda support/encourage each other?? Thoughts???

Omg, like I 100% agree. I think Stuart and Kaitlyn would totally ~bond over being the ones thought of as kinda useless. Especially because they ARE capable! Stuart is probably a great agent who was just never really given a chance. And Kaitlyn is a very creative problem-solver who is compassionate and able to take control of a situation if need be to get her agents out of trouble.

And I think it also would help their relationship that I see Stuart as a fairly open person? Because that's something Kaitlyn admires in people, especially as she deals so much in shades of grey, trying to juggle the persona she keeps in order to make sure she gets the life she's dreamed of. And I think Kaitlyn that while might shake her head and laugh at Stuart sometimes, I think she also would want to see him succeed. So she would push him a lot, make sure that he gets on his feet and gets himself together.

Plus I think she'd be relieved to have someone kind of in the same boat as she is re: newness to this sort of thing. They'd probably get along well just bemoaning the learning curve. haha.

Exactly, haha. And besides the, like, secretaries and things they’re probably one of the only groups with regular office hours. So they could totes have lunch together everyday and have a nice little chat. Which actually sounds super perfect and is definitely something I need in my life =3

OH MAN. TEA TIME SOUNDS AMAZING. And completely and totally spot on. Because, um, yes. I can sooo see them having all the same interests. And losing themselves talking about them. Maybe there’s a band they both like and they’re constantly trying to get tickets to see them or something? (Though, I actually think Kaitlyn is a lot more ~modern than Will so maybe she finds out that he’s never been to a concert or something and is like NO WE NEED TO GO SEE THEM NOW. And then Will gets really into it and tries to help her find tickets and, like, appears in her office with his laptop all like “So I hacked into the ticketmaster mainframe and it should go live tonight but I went ahead and reserved us two tickets.” And Kaitlyn’s just like “O_O I thought we’d just pop down to the station and, you know, BUY THEM.” And basically he just has no concept of how normal people do things, haha.)

AHAHAHA. OH YES. WILL IN A PUB. THAT NEEDS TO HAPPEN. I feel like he actually doesn’t drink all that much since I’m thinking he actually prefers tea since it helps to keep his wits about him since he’s basically always working. So he would probably be, like, the single most uncomfortable person in a bar. BUT HE WOULD PROBABLY BE SUPER HILARIOUS DRUNK. LIKE SHERLOCK HILARIOUS. THEY SHOULD EVEN PLAY BILLIARDS. (I felt British just typing that.) BECAUSE HE COULD TOTES BE TRYING TO CALCULATE ALL HIS SHOTS AND JUST TOTALLY FAIL. Maybe he finds a drink he really likes or decides that he can just cut loose for one night and it just doesn’t even end well at all and it’s the funniest of all the things and aksjkfldsf okay I need this in my life <33

BUT YES. OMG. YES GOOD. They should totally be into the same bands. Like, I could see Kaitlyn being SUPER SHOCKED that he liked whomever it is, too, just because he does seem so divorced from anything that isn't MI-6. But at the same time, being so excited, too, and demanding that he come with her to their next concert. Which'll TOTALLY lead into Will 100% hacking into the ticketmaster website. XD

'Cause you're right, Kaitlyn would blink at him, like: "Um... You do realize there's a kiosk only a few blocks away, right?" Before just throwing up her hands, pulling the laptop closer and being all: "Please tell me you at least got us front row tickets. And would it be too much to ask for backstage passes? If you're hacking the system, at least get us the good stuff!" Hahaha.

Omg, can you imagine Will going with Kaitlyn on the times when she's like: "I NEED TO GO SING KARAOKE. YOU'RE COMING WITH ME." xD And they're at this super seedy bar, and Will in the corner in his little cardigans with his soda water, and it's probably the most hilarious thing ever.

And I think more than anything, Kaitlyn just likes having the company. She wouldn't force him to drink if he didn't want to, though she'd probably like like him ~try her drinks if he was interested. Tell him to at least take a sip of something, see if he likes it. "And if not, at least I have a designated please-walk-me-to-the-tube person for the rest of time."

THOUGH OH MAN, KAITLYN WOULD TOTALLY FEED INTO WILL GOING A BIT NUTS ONE NIGHT. Probably because his tolerance would be CRAZY below hers, so she'd be able to keep up with him and still generally keep her wits about her. <3 So Kaitlyn'd be all: "Yeah! Let's totally get another round of shots, you're fine!"

Then 100% deposit him on Jarcie's doorstep and run away laughing to herself. xD

AND OMG BILLIARDS. I'd be so down for drunk!Billiards. Kaitlyn would start him up on bets over the game and bleed him DRY. xD Obvi would pick up his tab, etc. but still... totally bleed him dry of all his cash.

Awwee. <3 WILL DELETING THINGS IN HIS BRAIN-DRIVE TO MAKE MORE ROOM FOR MARCIE. SO ADORABLE. I CAN'T. MY HEART HURTS. Though that would totally be part of why Kaitlyn would drag him everywhere, make sure that Will can y'know, be a decently functioning human being. <33333

Mmk. That’s exactly what I was thinking! I just wanted to make sure we were on the same page there, haha. So yes. I totes agree. He’d probably continue to drop in on her quite a bit too just to make sure things are going alright and that she isn’t too overwhelmed especially since she has some, um, shall we say interesting agents? (Looking right at you, Jason, haha.) So yes. He’d definitely help continue to nudge her in the right direction. And he’d definitely be pretty sweet about it too. HE’D PROBABLY EVEN BRING HER TEA. BECAUSE HE GENUINELY CARES. HE SERIOUSLY DOES.

So yes!!! TOTAL BESTIES. I TOTES AGREE. These two would actually seriously be the cutest besties. And I can deeeefinitely see them sighing over Jason and Scarlett (because seriously, that’s literally exactly what would happen. Jason and Scarlett are probably, um, a handful. Maybe Will and Kaitlyn even do presentations/give them stuffs together sometimes when Jason and Scarlett are going on a join mission and afterwards they both kind of collapse on the floor like “well that went, um, well. TEA NOW? I THINK WE NEED TO GO GET TEA, LIKE, NOW.”

Also Kaitlyn and Will at the movies is a thing I need in my life. Because I feel like Will does, like, nothing outside of work. He’s probably seriously such a lost puppy outside of work. And maybe Kaitlyn finds that out and so she’s constantly asking him to do things so he’ll “see what outside looks like” or something like that? Because that actually sounds all kinds of hilarious, haha.

Does that sound alright? BECAUSE THESE TWO DO SOUND LIKE TOTAL BESTIES. 10/10 HIGHLY APPROVE. YES. JUST YES.

Haha. Perfect. xD Quartermaster lunch club. I mean, there's really only four of them, so it could totally work. Take up one little table in the nearby cafe, chat and laugh with each other, make sure everyone knows what they need to know. :3

AND AAWWEEE. WILL. BRINGING HER TEA. Kaitlyn would probably make him stay and have tea time with her too. She'd keep like a little canister of chocolate biscuits in her desk or something for when Will comes in for tea. :) Super cute. And to be honest, they probably get on really well, even past Kaitlyn needing ~someone to like her enough to make sure she doesn't get kicked out. I have a feeling that they're into the same kinds of music or books or tv and stuff. Probably sit there laughing for hours about random things until someone comes in like: "...um? I thought we had a meeting?" And the two of them just look at each other, mugs in hand like: "oh...right... work."

omg though, the two of them trying to corral Jason and Scarlett. xD Hilarious. Though I agree that as soon as they were done setting those two up to go off on their missions, Will and Kaitlyn would just collapse on the floor. Will would suggest tea, Kaitlyn would be like: "after that? I'd say we need something a bit stronger, my friend." and then drags him off to the pub right around the corner.

And then she does a lot of the same for him outside of work too. Like I can totally see her becoming very distressed to hear that Will doesn't get out much. Just because Kaitlyn is so anti-mediocrity that she can't imagine anyone being content just sitting at home. So she probably drags him out to movies and the theatre and to bars and such. Tries to make him have a good time.

I could totally see her framing it in a manner of "you need to see the outside sometime, you know. Fresh air and whatnot?"

So freaking adorable. I'm already in love with their friendship. <3
