Marley: smiled and nodded. "This one should actually be pretty cool because it's a 3D sonogram."

Ryder: "Oh! Then it's perfect timing for me being back." He said laughing. "I think I should go, I have to get ready for a job interview. But I'll call you?"

Marley: smiled and nodded. "Yes, I have a few more any way." She assured him. "And if you want, I have a sonogram next week and you could totally come."

Ryder: "Yes!!" He said jumping a little in excitement. "I would love to go with you."

Marley: laughed and shook her head. "You and me both." She joked. "But legend has it he's gonna come out looking like a actual human so let's hope." She said before looking over and seeing Ryder looking at the photos and how he was looking at them. "Keep them." She insisted.

Ryder: "I will trust that legend. Hopefully it looks like you, you're the better looking of the two." He said, looking her in the eyes. "Really?" He asked, looking at the pictures again still not being able to believe it was his child in them.

Marley: smiled and nodded. "Sure." She said as she got up and went into her room to grab a few ultrsound photos and bring them back to the couch. She sat beside him and handed him the pictures.

Ryder: smiled as he took the pictures, going through them all. He actually felt a little emotional over looking at pictures of his son, even if they were just that, pictures. No movement, and was very not human looking yet. "These are amazing, although I think I might have to send him back to the baby store if he looks like an alien." He joked as he held up the most recent one where he looked alien-like.

Marley: shrugged. "He isn't a jackass..." She said before mentally facepalming herself again. "Sorry reflex" She admitted.

Ryder: "That was a jackass move then." He said, just shrugging when she said it was a relfex. "You know what would be awesome? Seeing the ultrasounds of Aiden." He said smiling at her, just changing the subject. Feeling like maybe she didn't want to talk about her ex boyfriend and hurting her.

Marley: Shook her head. "It was more complicated than that.. We weren't officially "together" before he left, but we were on our way back to that, back to what we were... Before.." She paused taking a breath. "he cheated on me with Santana." She said looking down.

Ryder: "Wow, just...what a jackass." He said, just in complete shock that someone could do something like that to Marley. Who was still in his eyes, the best girl he's ever met. "You and our child deserve someone better than that."

Marley: nodded and smiled a little. "It's just hard to not constantly put myself down about it." She said shrugging. "I mean it had to of been my fault."

Ryder: put his hand on hers again, but in a more comforting way. "I doubt it, you're amazing. Did he ever say why he wanted to leave?"

Marley: looked confused. "What??? No!" She said panicking. "Where.. Di.. Did mess that up?" She asked mentally face palming herself. "I do... I mean obviously I do.. But I was...." Marley paused. "I was in love with Roderick... And I just.. I just think I need more than a few days to heal and get past it." She said looking over at him.

Ryder: truly didn't know where he got that she didn't like him from. Maybe it was insecurities over no one liking him based on past experiences. "I understand. I'm sorry, I didn't know. I'll just not try anything until you're ready." He said, giving her a small smile. "He's insane letting you go though. I can speak from experience on that one."

Marley: sighed and looked down. "I'm sorry..." She said sadly. "I just I'm... sorry..." She said not knowing what else she could say about the situation. "I mean it's not like I don't want this to happen.." She pointed out wanting to make sure that was clear.

Ryder: "But you don't like me that way?" He said, taking it in the worst way possible.

Marley: sighed and closed her eyes for a moment before replying. "Because... I was in a serious relationship with Roderick..." She said looking over at him. "And it just ended."

Ryder: "Oh." He said, looking down sadly. "I'm sorry. I'll back off." He said as he scooted away from her on the couch.

Marley: shook her head. "It's fine, I just don't think that should happen.. at least not right now... It's not fair to you." She said looking down.

Ryder: frowned at her. "Why not?" He asked, honestly confused what could have happened to not be fair to him.

Marley: was enjoying watching a movie with Ryder again. She was caught off guard when he leaned in and kissed her but she found herself kissing back before realizing this wasn't fair to him or to her. She gently pulled away. "Ryder..." She said softly.

Ryder: pulled away, smiling for a moment before her reaction. "What? I'm sorry...It just felt so much like old times I forgot it wasn't like old times. I'm sorry." He said, looking into her eyes.

Marley: let out a sigh of relief when he kissed her cheek, worrying for a moment he was going for an actual kiss, and she just didn't want to have the conversation she knew she needed to have with him before they even think about that. "Sure, sounds good."

Ryder: The two of them watched a stupid movie on netflix, it really feeling like old times. So much like old times where he leaned in, putting his hand on her cheek and giving her a kiss. He didn't even think that it had been five months, that things were probably not the same. He didn't even know if she still had feelings for him. But that didn't click with him in that moment, he just wanted to try and have her back. Not even just for the baby but because he genuinely liked her.
