Adam gets confused because he’s not in a good mental state and addresses his snarky comment reserved usually for us, directly to the bloke instead.

This is my absolute fave instance of Adam breaking the fourth wall because it reminds me of Fleabag when she gets completely thrown about talking to us because she notices the priest can sort of see it.

I love it when characters break the fourth wall because it means we’re their secret confidant, their trusted companion. But I especially love it when they get it wrong and let something slip out.

I love how he uses the audience as an outlet. He tells us things he can’t actually say to the people around him.

This scene is so painful because I feel like Adam means this as a compliment. He knows Harry so well and is so comfortable in their relationship that he feels like they’ve been together for ages, in a good way. But Harry interprets this as an insult. He thinks Adam is saying that their relationship doesn’t feel new and exciting to Adam anymore and that he’s bored.
