Abigail Palmiro, born in France to Stefan and Trinity Palmiro- with a twin sister, Aurielle. Her mother had passed away at an early age in both of their lives due to a quick and sudden illness. The now three membered family remained until the end of middle school, and then moved to Canada for high school. Their father had said it was for work related reason, but Abii had thought it had something to do with their mother- it was her house, her city- she was born and raised Quimper whereas her father came from a more rural part of France, and had moved to Quimper for her sake.
But quickly into her freshman year she thought another reason for their odd transfer to Canada was the new woman her father had starting dating: Alyssa Clover, who would become her step mother by her junior year. High school was also the year Abii starting “acting out”, she dressed in primarily pastel clothes in a more frilly fashion than she used to- and dyed her entire head pink. Despite her bright outer exterior, she was a reserved girl- she had turned farther into herself after her mother had passed and her father grew distant. Not just because of the move, but he too ended up with early onset Alzheimer’s when she was in high school- not often, but too often for her, her father would call her Trinity. He had never confused them before, nor confused her and Aurielle despite them being twins, but the constant reminder of her mothers passing took a toll on her and she did everything she could to no longer look like her. Not that she hated the idea of looking like her mother, in another time it may have helped her heal past her mother’s death, but she was afraid that in her father’s mind there would end up being no Abigail and only Trinity.
She had recognized her psychic abilities by middle school, and in this she also shared with Aurielle- it was as if they were the two sides of the same coins, sharing the same element. Whereas Abii had the primarily offensive attributes, Aurielle had the primarily defensive traits. It was an element she could easily hide from her parents, her telekinesis, levitation, and heightened intuition, there was a lot that could easily be explained as a trick of the mind. One close encounter was her practicing her telekinetic powers on a potted plant on their balcony in France, but hearing her parents run up the stairs had startled her into dropping the pot onto the street below much to the disappoint of Aurielle who felt sorry for the plant.
When she got the invitation for Elemental Castle, Abii held a mixture of emotions: regret, as her father started to steadily decline and knew she would be leaving him behind; doubt, she had cloistered herself up inside herself as she had entered high school and she wasn’t sure she would be able to open herself back up to go back to school; and interest, as the one thing she had spent so much of her time and energy on after finding out about her powers was studying them and how she came to have them. In the end, she chose to go knowing she’d still regret leaving her father, but she couldn’t really help him anyways and was bound for leaving the household after graduation anyways.
