People get so confused when a Christian points out something that we consider sin. For example, Phil Robertson saying that he thinks homosexuality is a sin is NOT saying that he hates homosexuals. Christians don’t hate the sinner. We hate the sin. We hate murder, lying, worrying, homosexual behavior, and all other sin. But just the action, not the person. We LOVE the person. I just feel like people don’t understand that when we say “Homosexuality is a sin.” We aren’t saying “We hate you.” We’re saying “We love you despite the fact that we think you are sinning.” Because everyone sins. Sin is sin is sin. I sin. You sin. Everyone sins. And we still love you for sinning because Jesus still loves you and me and everyone despite our sin. Jesus called us to love everyone like he loves everyone. But he also called us to hate sin like he hates it. So, that’s what we try to do. Love everyone. Share the gospel. And hate sin.
