Summer Nights
I decided to repaint the “La Bandera” card from my queer version of the traditional Mexican game of Lotería as the POC Pride flag. Previously, it had been the standard rainbow flag. I wanted to highlight the struggles and achievements of POC queer folks in this painting, especially now, in light of current tragedies and protests (and it also feels appropriate to a Mexican game!). I have not been posting to social media for a week or so, other than to share the work of black artists, because I did not want to distract from black voices. But I want to do something to help, so I decided to offer all money from the sale of this painting to the NAACP. The money from all prints of it purchased on Etsy will be donated. Also, I am offering the original in a sort of auction, and the money will be given to the NAACP as well. I am offering it for a starting “bid” of 200 USD. Whoever offers me most will get it, and i will donate the money to the NAACP right away. Just send me a private message at my instagram account @felixdeon and I’ll post it for you! So far it is 400 USD. To find the print, look up “theartoffelixdeon” on etsy, or click on the link Oh, and the original painting measures 5.5 x 7.25 inches
