Wild and Murky! MURK feat. Oba Frank Lords - "Dark Beat -(Addicted to Drums)- {Danny Daze Dub / Sabo Slow Edit} This tune is up there for me as Top 10 of 2014. The label MURK is so iconic, and was always way ahead of it's time for house music. The 1st two house records I ever bought on vinyl, were both MURK records - "Believe" & "Some Loving". Legendary East Coast DJ Dale Charles sold me these two gems at Boston Beat way back in 1994. I still have them both. In any case, MURK is basically the SHIT, so when I got this promo in my inbox i was soooo stoked. (Shout out to Lazaro Casanova for hooking me up!) As soon as I heard Danny Daze's dub i knew this was gonna sound so ill pitched down. As per usual when I go to make an edit, I end up adding a ton of percussion and effects, but who wouldn't with a tune called "Addicted to Drums" ?? I've been playing this edit all year long at festivals and it kills every time. Hope you will get the same reaction on your dance floors!! If you wanna play the WAV version (highly recommended)you just have to LIKE my FB page: https://www.facebook.com/SaboFanPage/app_220150904689418
I'm in your mix like a number one record and the beat goes on and on and on...
Gotta say yes to this truly epic and harmonious mix. Tracklist & full article: http://www.factmag.com/2014/10/27/fact-mix-467-jacques-greene/ -- Since debuting in 2010, Jacques Greene has become one of house music's foremost romantics. Well, we say debuted: it's no big secret that Greene produced as Hovatron in his early days, releasing a small handful of singles and building a reputation in Montreal's party scene, DJing at local raves like Turbo Crunk (we'll also forever ride for his remix of Janet Jackson's 'Discipline'). In 2010, he reinvented himself as Jacques Greene, taking the hip-hop and r'n'b influences at the heart of Hovatron and applying them to more straight-forward house structures. The formula worked like a charm, with a first single for Night Slugs followed by a brace of 12"s for long-term friends LuckyMe, including the brilliant 'Another Girl'. Co-signs swiftly came from Radiohead, who asked Greene to contribute to their King of Limbs remix album, and the xx, who took the Canadian on tour. The years since have seen Greene both hone his sound and his hardware-heavy live show, while also collaborating with vocalists like Tinashe and co-founding the Vase label with manager and Baller's Social founder Joe Coghill (releases have so far come from Koreless, Weeknd producer Zodiac, Gorgeous Children and more). Ahead of a live show at London's Roundhouse this Friday October 31 with support from Koreless and Evian Christ, Greene delivers a long-awaited FACT mix, featuring several of his own unreleased tracks, a speech by Sean 'Diddy' Combs' at Howard University and a visitation from the Trance Lord himself.
