Happy Birthday Queen Celine!!!!! ❤️💗

When you helping your wife get ready for her day of kicking warlord ass
Remake of the edit that made me insane
Xena: "Didn't your mother ever teach you it's rude to stare?" - Motive
When fates collide…
Xena: Whenever Gabrielle gets mad at me, I tighten all the lids on the jars so she has to ask me for help.
[sounds of glass shattering in the background]
Xena: It hasn't worked yet but it will.
So here is the idea. A Xena reboot but there is a twist. The pilot starts and it's Lucy Lawless and Renee O'Connor having a cute lunch date in present time. Suddenly they start reminiscing about the good old days and bham. The entire first episode of Xena starts airing. And that's the entire concept of the the reboot. Every episode opens up with an immortal married Xena and Gabrielle in present time doing cute couple things for two minutes as an excuse to remember something and we just go straight to airing an old Xena episode. Completely unchanged except for one thing. Kevin Sorbo is digitally removed from all episodes and replaced with Charlize Theron
Xena is literally just fan fiction which is why it's the best show ever. They really did the "soulmates get ripped apart but they still find each other no matter what" trope before it was a trope
Xena: Warrior Princess
Season one: the one where it goes from ‘f**k i’m gonna regret this’ to ‘f**k i love her’
Season two: the one where xena possesses a man’s body to kiss gabrielle through a magical spirit world don’t ask
Season three: the one where they have marriage problems
Season four: the one where they are soulmates forever and ever
Season five: the one where they become “mum and dad” to a female baby jesus
Season six: the one which confirms their 50 years of marriage and makes the network fume in a corner
Ever wondered why Xena never won any awards? They just got the categories all wrong!
Love how much Xena loves Gabrielle. Like how many times does Gabrielle get in trouble only for Xena to show up seconds later.
I literally root for Gabrielle to get in trouble because fucking with Gabs= pain from the warrior princess.
Because obviously, she's watching her boo like a hawk. And if that's not the most romantic behavior ever from a warrior idk what is.
Favourite thing about Xena is her pure unbridled delight every time she gets to fight someone. Second favourite thing about Xena is that Lucy Lawless is hot.
Everyone always talks about Angelina Jolie's power with her eyes.
Absolutely. She can do THE THING
But you know who did it first?
THIS BITCH (said lovingly)
watching it with my mom the last year and at the beginning she straight up asked me if those were Lucy’s real eyes 😩 LIKE YES THEYRE EVERYTHING
#xena definitely owns multiple “happy wife, happy life” t-shirts
Even if I had an army around me, I'd still notice you were missing.
i wish i could telepathically communicate to all the young gays that watching Xena is worth it even with our much higher standards today for lgbt characters in media. the cast crew writers and showrunners never panicked when they discovered that their characters were driven by romantic love and were pulled back only by the network to prevent it from becoming textual. by season 4 they established them as souls in love reincarnated together forever and never tried in earnest to pair them with men. by the end of season 5 they stopped that altogether. by season 6, it is as explicit as they were able to make it given the restraints at the time, and they did so much to signal to queer audiences that Xena and Gabrielle were one of us. like Xena presenting Gabrielle, a lover of written word, with a poem by Sappho as a gift (and becoming adorably shy and blushing as she reads it).
there is so much joy in seeing just how effectively they were able to convey the romantic nature of their love and companionship despite the opposition. physical attraction is clear in the s6 episodes “Who’s Gurkhan” and “When Fates Collide”. “When Fates Collide” and “Return of the Valkyrie” are so dizzyingly and overtly romantic that i still can’t believe they pulled it off. when viewed in its full context it is really an epic and beautiful love story. :)
Lil cuties cuties cuties cutie patooties!
