@tanuki-kimono, remember my tongue-in-cheek comment about penguins on kimono? I went Googling, not really expecting anything, but … wow! So. Many. Results. I really should’ve known better. Japan loves penguins, after all: it has more penguins in captivity than any other nation.

I also found a video of penguins wearing kimono at Iruka Land. I think we can safely categorize this as “only in Japan”.

@todayintokyo Yes I remember the bottom obi! I have rebloged it some times ago (I love kimono Tsuru they always have nice casual kimono stuff :D).

It seems penguins have become a popular motif for summer wear (a bit like yukiwa, penguin must give a cooling effect :P)

My favourite so far is this one (polar bear selling ice creams to small penguins ^^)

I didn’t know about Japan+penguins ôO so much love! Must be the cute effect ;)

→ 2016.4.20 ヲルガン座での２年ぶりのイベント。 ステージで着付け教室しましたよ。 解体ショーと言ったけど着せてくよね。 ステテコとキャミソールから開始してみました。 豆千代モダンの名古屋帯をこの日でおろしました、果物帯。 桃が出したいからいつもと反対に。 そして捻らない方法で。 帯枕背負わず帯揚げに綿を入れて。 小さめお太鼓大好き。 なんとかお席は満員で。

私の本日の投げ銭分は熊本の友人に送ろうと思っているのさ。 終わったからやっと言えるよ。 後でメッセージ送るんだ。

I’d seen this book featured on Amazon quite a few times but it never caught my interest. I happened to find a copy in SG’s Kinokuniya @ Takashimaya, so I browsed through it - and immediately had to buy it!
