For my birthday this year we drove to the Catskills and backpacked in to hike the Slide Mountain loop. I brought my pup to celebrate with us. Total of 15.2 well-marked trail. The weather was perfect. If you end up doing this loop please note there is only one water source near the peak of Slide on the Eastern section.

Decided to switch things up and headed west for a day-hike in Royalston/Athol Mass. 25 miles of Spring starting to peek through. There are two pretty waterfalls, a few streams to jump in and lots and lots of black flies! Ha! Bring some rose geranium oil to keep them away! You can see Mt. Monadnock in NH at the peak of the Mountain. Tully Lake is really beautiful too. Nice trail to run as well. Be careful though.
