The Captain + Pat in BBC Ghosts -“The Ghost Of Christmas”
– Community, S2E11, Abed’s Uncontrollable Christmas
wait. wait hold the fuck up. the ghosts have a moment together - realising that christmas may not be the best at times, but at least family is present. we hear pat missing his wife and son and nephew. we hear kitty talking about her sister. we hear julian (of all people) realising he missed the opportunity to see his daughter grow. they all miss their families. AND THEN alison, whose biological family is implied to be nonexistent (since she was the one to inherit the house) or distant at best, starts singing by herself. all she wanted to do was sing a carol, which she made obvious my putting it on mike's whiteboard. but when mike's family find carols "mournful" and "boring", a different family joins in. the ghosts join in with alison. and its possibly the most powerful thing the ghosts have done for alison. it's mostly been alison doing stuff for the ghosts as she's alive, but for them to have discussed missing family AND THEN go and give something back to alison is just. god. so so beautiful.

- ta
- jammy
- faff
- belting
- chuffed
i just think it would be neat to hear okay
not to exclusively talk abt kitty and cap being queer and neurodivergent on main but um. this scene hits So Different when u think. think abt havers. and ive actually been having a breakdown about it for fifteen minutes now like when cap said that i had to go stand in a corner n cry for a sec because FUCK. you love alison, don’t you? you want her to stay. i. omg no one speak to me rn
kitty and thomas are arguably equally as obsessed with alison and have both been confirmed to love her but only one of the characters’ love is read as romantic by the majority of fans and i think it’s interesting. kitty had an exchange with the canon gay character on the show asking if she loves her and she said yes, kitty is very enthusiastic about both parties of the sex scene in free pass (seriously look how she reacts when the woman is in bed and remember she is implied to look like alison in the same scene because fanny mistakes her for alison) and lolly has even said kitty loves alison... oh boy
like yeah kitty always says they’re best friends but i think this is an experience so many wlw and queer people can relate to: you aren’t fully aware of your attraction and think it’s just normal to feel that way about your friends sometimes. you don’t even realise it’s “different” until someone else points it out. “i’d hug you if i could” “i’d love that” the yearning... god i know i definitely can relate from my baby gay years... oh dear. lmao POINT IS kitty is bi-coded/queercoded and even if it isn’t a deliberate choice by the writers it doesn’t mean those things aren’t there and that it’s not a valid take on her character!! thanks 🙏
Good morning to defensive closet cases with soft hearts and backwards medals, poor women who were burnt at the stake, burnt by life, but would never burn their friends, headless Tudors with good heads on their shoulders, cavemen who could drag their knuckles, but choose to drag everyone else, Georgian nobility who could choose to be bitter, but instead choose sisters from other misters, Tory MPs who were caught figuratively and literally with their trousers down, Scoutmasters who didn't let the arrow pierce their heart, Edwardian matriarchs who are only thorny because they're horny and Regency dandies who poetically use the word "wazzock".
