Yesterday I experienced one of the most emotional hours in the cinema I can remember. @bohemianrhapsodymovie , the story about the life of Freddie Mercury and his band Queen, awakened a lot of memories of my youth and young life, remembered me how much of an extraordinary singer and artists he was that touched most of our lifes in one or the other form. When you watch how much he suffered due to his sexual orientation, how he only found love and happiness already knowing that he has a very limited amount of time left to live after being diagnosed with AIDS in the last years of his life, you see how far we came as a society with acceptance of this. Watching the movie scene of Queen’s infamous performance at “Life Aid” brought back memories of the day I watched that very performance together with my dad live on TV, one of those moments you know you are watching history. Not during many movies I was fighting to hold back tears for over an hour of the movie. Freddie simply was a unique human being and possibly the best singer of modern music ever alive, @ramimalek who plays Freddie Mercury truly delivered an Oscar-worthy performance. ATTENTION, POLITICAL POST: Yesterday was possibly one of the most significant days for Brazil as with Jair Messias Bolsonaro a man was elected in which the Brazilian people have hope to clean up the country and change the direction to get Brazil's economy out of the worst recession the country has seen, not last due to the Petrobras corruption scandal in which the worker's party PT, who was in power for 13 years, was seriously involved and for which, amongst others, ex-president Lula is serving a 12 year prison sentence. Bolsonaro was called an extreme-right populist, homophobic, sexist, his rhetorics were called populistic and he was the subject of demonstration and verbal attacks against him. He was elected in a democratic election yesterday. He is in politics 27 years and never was near being suspicious of being involved in corruption. Something that is very rare or non existent in Brazil. While Bolsonaro in his victory speech called the Brazilian people to unite and together make the country as prosperous as the country itself is and also said he wants to be president for all Brazilians, no matter which color, sexual orientation or heritage and lead to defend democracy and constitution, defeated PT's Haddad said in his speech that PT will resist against the danger for democracy and that they have no fear. That he will work hard for the 45Mio that voted for him. There was no congratulation from the side of Haddad for the new president-elect Bolsonaro. Democracy means to respect the election, respect the result and the choice of the people, even if they voted against you. You can't defend democracy by acting undemocratic. While from the outside as a citizen that was born in a democratic republic I see way more danger in the rhetoric of Haddad than in that of Bolsonaro. What I also see is that words like Facism, Right Populist and Neo-Fascist are used to profile politicians that call for change and are a bit more right and conservative than the far left.
