So there’s these things called Towers, right? They are usually very tall things (towers/mountains/trees) powered by magic or some shit, they hold the universe up and are Very Important. If they fall, shit starts to get wacky on a cosmic level.
So the fun thing is, in every game that gets released, one of them gets destroyed, depowered, or otherwise tampered with. The orcs had one, but the redgaurds fucked it. The redgaurds had one too, but it blew up. The altmer destroyed theirs. The slug people (there are slug people, they’re horrible) might have one, but they probably fucked it. The dwemmer built an anti-tower which was all bad (it’s a giant robot, the dwemmer used their entire population to make it work, philosopher’s-stone-style, that’s why there aren’t any of them left). The Red Mountain gets all blown to shit, the tower in the center of the imperial capital gets fucked during the oblivion crisis, shenanigans get pulled on the Throat of the World.
There are only two left.
Some vampires can shapeshift into their victims for some reason

Also the reason the sunlight hurts vampires is bc the guy who made the big magic hole in the sky hated them, any discrepancies between how the sun effects them in the games is based on just how much he hates them in that particular game.
This is actually a reworking of a pre-Slack Wyrm post I made to Tumblr about four years ago, so if you’ve been following me for a while, you might remember it. I just couldn’t resist adding the cockatrice into the Slack Wyrm world. I love him so much! :)

I always liked Valter somehow, never as a person, but as the cruel villain he was. Though I often screamed 'YOU DISGUST ME BEYOND WORDS' during his dialogues. But meh. Damn bitch, yo fine.
