Americaâs justice system is racist. There is no other way to put it. From its racist policing built on profiling, to its war on drugs which dis-proportionally incarcerates black (and brown) people, to its sentencing laws that increase in severity if you are black, to the fact that a black man is killed by cops or vigilantes every 28 hours. Itâs murderous and racist to its core. So when âthe lawâ is the instrument of oppression, this leaves little recourse for communities like Ferguson. But the logic of oppression will always place the onus for civility on the victims of oppression, never itself.
âBut theyâre looting and burning down storesâ: Debunking the Logic of Oppression in Ferguson
Reblogging because you all need to know this (in)justice system has NEVER been about fairness. Justice has never been a part of the equation, ever.
(via america-wakiewakie)
you know that image of the kkk members supposedly marching at ferguson? the one with the yellow belt? please donât use it anymore as itâs from last year circa the government shut down but donât use this mistake to discredit any other claims of the kkkâs presence, they are very much there in ferguson as we speak
I actually think this has merit.
there has been another mass kidnapping in mexico please please signal boost this and pray for the 30+ kids missing

Americans ignore the mass murder of students that is roiling Mexico
The violent disappearance of 43 students from a rural teachers college in Guerrero state has caused a political earthquake the likes of which Mexico has not seen in generations â perhaps even since the revolution of 1910. That makes it all the more baffling how little attention most people in the U.S. have paid to the unfolding tragedy.
To understand the historical significance â and the moral and political gravity â of what is occurring, think of 9/11, of Sandy Hook, of the day JFK was assassinated. Mexico is a nation in shock â horrified, pained, bewildered.
Mexico is on the brink. So why is America oblivious?
within 24 hours of the non-indictment we have a black male shot and burned to death right in mike brownâs neighborhood and his fatherâs church set on fire
smells like jim crow
You can read both stories here:
DeAndre Joshua found dead in car.
Church set on fire
Ayotzinapa and Ferguson are not in competiton, they both matter they are both important. Please let us have solidarity
Ladies and gentlemen, Ferguson police. Â

Straight up white supremacists.
this is exactly how theyâve always talked to us, this is how cops in NY speak to little brown and black kids as young as 12 and 13 up to 18 and 19 and so on. this isnât because thereâs aggression from riots this is just how they speak about us and think of us.
It upsets me that people are always trying to say this is how cops talk to us (yes, I have had a cop point a gun in my face before) and nobody believes it until Anderson Cooper puts it on television.
It takes a white man to make it believable because all black and brown folks are painted as liars and thieves. We canât keep denying when it comes from someone we view as an actual person
"14-year-old Parkview High School Freshman, Caleb Christian was concerned about the number of incidents of police abuse in the news.  Still, he knew there were many good police officers in various communities, but had no way of figuring out which communities were highly rated and which were not. Â
So, together with his two older sisters: Parkview High School senior Ima Christian, and Gwinnett School of Math, Science, and Technology sophomore, Asha Christian, they founded a mobile app development companyâ Pinetart Inc., under which they created a mobile app called Five-O.
Five-O, allows citizens to enter the details of every interaction with a police officer.  It also allows them to rate that officer in terms of courtesy and professionalism and provides the ability to enter a short description of what transpired.  These details are captured for every county in the United States. Citizen race and age information data is also captured.
Additionally, Five-O allows citizens to store the details of each encounter with law enforcement; this provides convenient access to critical information needed for legal action or commendation.â

Black Excellence
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: This week, NYPD cop Pedro Serrano has been testifying about the unfair targeting of Blacks and Hispanics for New Yorkâs Stop and Frisk. To support his case, Serrano unveiled a video recording of superior ordering him to stop and frisk Black and Latino males between the ages of 14 and 21. This cop is very, very brave.
Good cops donât turn a blind eye to the corruption and racism being practiced by their fellow officers.
Brave man. I hope to all the gods he isnât made to pay for it.
reblog if you think Officer Darren Wilson should have been indicted
being a foreigner outside of America while all this is happening in Ferguson doesnât mean you just get to condemn the police and the racist society without thinking critically about how deeply entrenched racism is in your country too
The scary part of whatâs happening in Mexico is that while looking for the bodies of the 43 missing students they have found out massive clandestine graveyards with a lot of bodies and they are like âwell, this arenât the missing studentsâ. Then who are they?
We were looking for 43, but we found dozens, hundreds, thousands of people without a face, bodies without an identity, bodies who werenât mourned.
On August 9, 2014, Brown, an unarmed black 18-year old, was shot and killed by Wilson, who is white. The shooting led to demonstrations, confrontations with police, and some looting and violence.
theres mounds of folks calling out the anarchists in Ferguson
shit. i just⊠fuck!
Probably the police doing what theyâve been trained to do.
