Watching ep 4 and it's like watching a train wreck I can't look away from I am at the hospital scene and my heart is in my mouth fucking hell
Someone on twitter said ruben will obviously be abusive to his kids and like I genuinely do not think so
Spoilers ahead
Finished my 3rd re-watch of beyond evil and this show still has such a hold on me. I remember watching BE for the first time and how much I disliked Han Ju Won, this white knight sense of justice he had and how much I loved Dong sik and his craziness and just the tragedy that was his life.
The juxtaposition of Dong siks smile at the end of the first episode where the focus on him smiling with darkness on his face while looking at Han ju won and you can't even see his eyes to the end of final episode where his smile is so bright and all the burdens are gone and he looks like the weight is off his shoulders oh my god (shin ha kyun you are amazing)
I re-watch the entire series just for that 30 sec scene at the end it'll always be worth it to me
I love iwtv right and
Louis = niall
Ruben = Lestat
In this essay I will
also it's like genuinely hilarious to me how people are looking at ruben and Niall from a normal people lens, the entire point of half man is how fucked both of them are, like watch one richard gadd interview
There's no he is right or he is wrong it's about how people are made and how they change because of their circumstances I thought that was obvious
These people are multi dimensional they don't exist on a single plane and that's their entire beauty categorising these characters in a good or bad mould doesn't make any sense
So obviously they are working on callbacks/parallels to show how Niall and ruben are the same
(this I am taking from the nod thing - the courtroom nod and then the wedding aisle nod)
When Niall felt uncomfortable he called for ruben after his orientation in college and ruben arrived the next morning on his bike, the design was we heard the roaring of the bike before we see ruben, same for the wedding when he arrives we hear the roaring of his bike in a similar manner
I have a feeling despite being surprised that ruben is coming I think Niall must have drunk dialled ruben and told him he needed him
I also think we are going to see a more toxic side of Niall, Niall knows the power he has over ruben (according to the script) it must be a heady feeling to have a guard dog and when ruben goes to jail (I think he will get an early release) and Niall keeps expecting ruben will come for him like he promised but ruben doesn't come back, Niall starts feeling some sort of way and we know he has a habit of victimizing himself a bit so he starts feeling paranoid, that ruben will eventually come.
He also missed being the centre of attention of ruben and maybe alby is giving him that attention after they reconnect.
I don't think Alby is his penance I think he is in some fucked up way a connection to ruben that Niall is desperate to keep
There's obviously no love there, even before Niall learns that ruben is coming he is miserable and talking about killing himself (also when they come out after the wedding)
I remember reading this somewhere that Han ju wons eyes will always look for dong sik when be enters a room and my god the way it's so obvious throughout the show
Do you ever think about how in ep 11 when jae-i and juwon are talking outside the butcher shop and jae-i just randomly informs him where dongsik is and how to find him and juwon is so relieved and he thanks her because he didn't know how to ask because he worried about dongsik. yeah me too.
Okay so, guys,
Niall is not some innocent person he is still playing a persona we will be seeing his fucked up ness too and personally I can't wait
There's a reason gadd said you can't tell who's worse coz we've only seen rubens outward depravity and niall will be channeling his inwardly which we are yet too see
I love the concept that ruben actually moves on atleast for a little while which Niall can't take and he does something bad for which he won't suffer the same consequences that ruben did
Absolutely love the fact that dongsik went out just to rage bait Han ju won
Re watching beyond evil and remembering what an amazing show it is
I am just putting this out there since the entire reason I started coming on Tumblr was because of bad buddy. I hope they come back. And I hope it's something like TayNew.
That said I am going to put this to rest now. I started watching Bad Buddy coz of Ohm & I'll continue supporting him & Nnn.
Thank you OhmNanon for everything. You were amazing and I learned so much about friendship because of you, I don't think I'll ever forget the emotions that you invoked in me.
I hope I see you on the other side, bruised but better.
With all my love.
