Coltlandgentry + starstruck au
So I’m not super god at writing but I had like and ide for an coltland gentry + starstruck au.
So like imagen that the taumoeba didn’t get thur xenonite and that both rocky and grace got to go home (yay!)
And so Grace gets back to earth but something weird happened and it’s only been like 4-8 years for earth and not like 30 like it should be. (Could be timetravel, some weird phenomenal or something idk I’m not a scientist)
Anyway grace gets in contact to nasa and they work to get him down to earth even if they are hella confused as to why the Hail Mary is back. And it’s like a cover up incase anything is wrong so the general population don’t know anything, so Colt, court and Tom has no idea that grace is back.
And I’m thinking that Ryland would probably be in isolation for a while so that they can confirm that he is safe and figure out what’s happening. They go though the Hail Mary files and se everything and they start working to get the taumoeba to Venus.
During this whole time Ryland is asking (demanding) to se his brothers. So Stratt tracks them down and invites them (read: kidnaps) to the facility where Ryland is.
There is the whole dramatic and emotional reunion ofc, after Ryland left Colt and court reunited because Court couldn’t bare to lose both of his little brothers (I’m imagining that Colt become very destructive and depressed after the launch)
Then Ryland asked for Tom.
They were together, in love. Ryland is the first person that treater Tom like an actual person and not some super famous celebrity, so he fell hard and fast. Like he was probably still kind of an asshole to everyone but Ryland, but is was apparent that something had change, ha was happier and easier that work with.
Before the project Tom had bought a Ring. But as Ryland was more and more invoked with the project he decided to wait until after the launch as not to distract Ryland. And then you can guess what happens.
Tom gets like suuuuper depressed, like the goes the love of his live of on a suicide mission. He retreats to being and asshole to everyone, way worse than before. In the beginning he start partying more and drinking and doing drugs (he stoped doing drugs thanks to Ryland and barley drank) But soon stops that to and just kinda becomes a hermit and stops acting all together.
Then one day Colt showes up and drages him out of his house and into a car. (I imagen that they got a little bit closer during this time as they both lost the most important person in their life((in this universe Tom never caused Colts accident))
He drives Tom to the facility and when he sees Ryland he just breaks down. Can barley touch him as he thinks Rylands gonna disappear as son a he makes contact.
Ryland calms him down, hugs him hard and kisses him to prove his is really here, that he is alive. They fall asleep tighter in the hospital bed and hold each other so tight.
And they live happily ever after!!
