She couldn’t see through the fog too well, but the figure at least looked humanoid. Still, she knew from her studies and training that Shadows could still look human. Rather than foolishly trust the other figure immediately, she kept her swords drawn, but, at the very least, lowered it to avoid threatening what sounded like a young man.
“I think I’ll keep it out, but I can agree to those terms.” Chikako spoke calmly, yet with a very business-like tone to her words. After all, to her, she was on her first mission - she couldn’t afford to screw up, not if she wanted to be helpful to her mother. “This is a dangerous area. What are you doing here?”
Shoving his hands in his pockets, Isao made his way closer to the other person. It was at least a little easier to see her now. She definitely wasn’t one of his teammates. Who was this girl? What was she doing here?
“I could ask you the same thing…” Isao says. “Besides, I can defend myself and it looks like you can too…” He looks around for shadows, but can’t sense any nearby. “My team and I split up to cover more ground.”
“Your team, huh?” Chikako adjusted her stance slightly, no longer a hostile one, but rather one that would let her easily shift to the defense if anything attacked her... Whether this guy or more Shadows. She didn’t seem to relax at all, though, despite him mentioning his team - after all, that was no indication of whether or not she could trust him just yet. What team he was a part of, exactly, she didn’t know, though. He certainly wasn’t a Shadow Operative that she was aware of... “I don’t recognize you; who exactly is this ‘team’ of yours?”
