So a few months ago I got some bad news that I would no longer be able to sew as a profession or hobby. I have a pretty bad cyst on my left thumb. As per doctor's recommendations he suggested that I quit sowing until I've had a professional look at my hand and maybe had a couple of surgeries.

I took the last 90 days to re-evaluate my brand and what I had been doing thus far. I wanted nothing more than to bring gender-affirming fashion to the people the fashion industry doesn't recognize.

Did you know that the models within the fashion industry only makes up 8% of the human race? What about the other 96% of us?

I am pleased to announce that I have created a new line of fashion utilizing vendors from across the world to make custom made-to-order printed fashion that is both affirming and comfortable while simultaneously eliminating the need for warehouses and reducing our carbon footprint overall on the planet.

When I started thread damage it was my greatest endeavor to create gender-affirming fashion that is form-fitting and functional for the LGBT community so that people can feel affirmed on their journey, wherever it may take them. Today I am overjoyed to announce that that dream is slowly becoming a reality as I am able to design/oversee almost every aspect of my garments.

First off I would like to say super thank you to my girl Danielle for her amazing poses! and Casey for her great photos! I started this dress over a year ago, before starting t. I had hand surgery oh, and it didn't heal right. Which is why it took so long to get this dress out. This moment that was just over a year in the making, and was well worth it because I don't think that the photos would have come out as good had I rushed myself to finish this project.

I have been so blessed with models coming forward that I can scarcely keep up with the garments I need to make/finish. What a wonderful problem to have! I had so much fun making this dress that I will be making more in the future.

Over one year ago before starting testosterone I started a dress. I had no idea who I would put it on I had this vision. A black velvet dress with white satin applique covered in rhinestones. It's sat in my closet for over a year because I had hand surgery and was unable to finish it. though I really wanted to finish it. I knew that I wouldn't do a good job because of the immense pain that I was in due to my somewhat botched recovery. They went in to clean out the joint, but a cyst formed on that joint and has never been the same. Though I was in tremendous pain and dealing with a lot of physical stress I asked a ask a model / friend of mine too wear the dress. So I had to finish the dress....to be continued.

Since putting out the ad for models a number of gentlemen's and other humans have come forward. I've heard a lot of complaints about feeling lumpy, that even though binders flatten just fine, they don't help with lumps. Getting a smooth silhouette was very important to my guy who is very gratuitous in the chest, measuring at a 38/40 DDD. Even though this was our first meeting we're definitely going to meet again.

We got a binder on him and got him looking flat and smooth. He will be modeling more in the future, so stay tuned for more.

Also we were so excited about the binder that we forgot to get a reaction video, and a before pic for comparison. Oops. Won't happen again, unless it does.

sometimes I hate how much modern clothing is determined to show women’s bodies

like if it’s not skimpy, it’s skin-tight- leggings, skinny jeans, bodycon dresses, etc.

doing historical costuming has made me hyper-aware of just how “on display” my body is when I’m wearing normal modern outfits, and it affects my behavior. don’t bend over to pick things up at work because men will stare at your ass. sit differently so you don’t show stomach rolls. a guy running a pop-up stand next to my shop commented so much on how I had “great legs” that I didn’t wear leggings and skirts- one of my favorite winter outfit combinations -for the rest of the season

there’s a certain freedom in medium-to-long skirts and skirt supports, I find: the freedom to define what people see of my body. men won’t stop being creepy no matter what women wear, but I like that kind of dramatic body re-framing. you don’t get to see my legs and hips, Creepy Guys. you get to see a massive bell skirt, or a bustle, or an upended trumpet flower shape. my body is to be seen only by those I’ve chosen to trust, not the world at large

of course, empowerment is different for different women. some feel comfortable and powerful showing as much of their shape as possible, and I applaud them in doing exactly that. what pisses me off is the pressure from the fashion industry for all of us to be empowered by the same thing…a thing that just so happens to tie in with the diet industry and the cosmetics industry. it’s easier to sell the idea that you have to be hairless and smooth and thin and blemish-free when it’s all on display

sometimes I just wish I could go about in a hoop skirt and a t-shirt that says “fuck off” in delicate script

Made some awesome vector art for my shop. When surfing round on the interwebs I came across the concept of a dead astronaut. Loved it! Wasn't sure why, but I had to create this art. This is not an endorsement for my store, I just love these astronauts so much that I decided to share them. But if you are interested you can always find shirts and other stuff on my Etsy.

Here's some older images from about a year ago of some of the first binders I ever created. My binders are created to be form-fitting and functional like a second skin but cool enough to stand on their own like a tank top..

The Thread Damage B.I.N.D.e.r. is a new form of binder that is made to be functional, and comfortable like a second skin, but also cool enough to stand on its own as a tank-top or half-tank.

Each B.I.N.D.e.r. is reversible with hidden seams/French seams so there is no excess bulk. The original B.I.N.D.e.r. feature heavy duty straps for a comfortable secure fit. This B.I.N.D.e.r. gives even support all the way around your body.

Making sure the wearer is comfortable and affirmed is key to a good B.I.N.D.e.r. thats why I have worked personally with members of the community and listened what they have to say about binders, to create the best product possible.

THREAD DAMAGE B.I.N.D.e.r

Straps:

•Add support to the binder encircling each shoulder from under the arm along the outside of the chest.

•You should be able to slip a finger comfortably between your shoulder and strap.

•If binder straps dig into you then the binder is too small or you may need a strap length that provides better support.

•Straps should be comfortable and stay in place.

Main: The body of the B.I.N.D.e.r. should give even support all the way around your body.

•Front: provides the primary support,

•Back: Power mesh or solid lycra (optional).

•You should be able to run a finger snugly under the binder but feel comfortable when you’re seated.

•The body of the B.I.N.D.e.r. should do most of the work.

Sizing details

How to measure:

You’ll need a sports bra or nothing, as the chest should lay at the midpoint between your shoulders and elbows.

1. Bust: Using a soft measuring tape wrap the tape snug around your chest at the fullest point.

2 Under Bust: Measure around your rib cage, directly under your bust.

Breathe out.

Be careful to keep the tape level to the ground from front to back.

Custom Measurements:

Take a snug measurement across the fullest of your chest from Armpit to armpit.

Length:

Full:

Measure from armpit down to where your wrist naturally lay at your side.

Half:

Lean to one side to find your natural crease, measure from the armpit to your natural crease

What to look for:

Binder is too small:

•If there is pulling, pinching, or chaffing (especially under the arms) the binder is too small.

•If the binder is too tight when standing or sitting, it’s too small and can damage the rib cage. Binder is too big:

•If the binder puckers in the front you may have a binder that is too big and may need a binder with less coverage.

•If it’s riding up in the front or back the binder is too loose.

About a month-and-a-half ago I fractured my left clavicle and haven't been able to model B.I.N.D.e.r.s. So I put out an ad asking humans of the community to come forward to model binders and earn one for themselves. A few guys came forward, I got fantastic feedback! And best of all I made new friends.
