Going In Blind | Chase & Candace
@thrill-ofthe-chase
How could Candace have possibly got herself into such a situation? A blind date of all things, for a girl such as herself? The blue-haired woman sighed and fidgeted as she sat at a table in The Red Snapper. It was Luna who had signed her up for some dating… thing. Candace had no clue she was even signed up, let alone how it worked. And it was also Luna who had convinced Candace to actually go to a blind date. Well, it was blind for her, at the very least.
To say she was embarrassed was an understatement. Luna had used her as a doll, undoing Candace’s braids and instead styling it with a braid over the top and letting the rest flow freely. Luna at least dressed Candace to her comfort level, opting for a long sleeved shirt with a maxi skirt. Now, all Candace had to do was… sit there and wait for whoever this mystery man was.
Chase didn’t really do blind dates, but when one of his coworkers had sworn that it was a completely normal and not weird way to meet girls and guys in the city, he had reluctantly agreed. Visions played in his mind of some 40 year old woman droning on about her cats and trying to get fresh under the table, causing him to shudder as he opened the door of the restaurant he was all too familiar with.
To think he’d be here on his day off.
From the look on the shit-eating hostess’ face who smugly mouthed the number ‘46′ he knew which table to go to, quickly winding through the throngs of people enjoying their expensive sea-food dinners until he reached table 46... and felt like an ass for coming to all those conclusions on his own.
She wasn’t 40, she definitely didn’t look crazy... in fact she was pretty gorgeous. Long blue hair, fair skin, a slightly uncomfortable posture but he could relate to that. “Hey, sorry I’m late. It’s snowing like crazy outside.” Chase breathed, unbuttoning his coat and laying it on the back of his chair.
He would around the table to hold out his hand, looking like he was going for a shake until he brought Candace’s hand to his lips and gently kissed her knuckles.
“I’m Chase. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”
