12 year old anti-child labor speaker, Iqbal Masih from Pakistan, who was forced into slave labor at a carpet facory at age 4, jubilates as he is introduced as one of five recipients to receive a Reebok Human Rights Award, Dec. 7, 1994, in Boston. He would be murdered 4 months later.

He was murdered by a gang that hunted escaped slaves.

He escaped slavery once, learning that Pakistan's Supreme Court had rules slavery illegal and tried to report his "employer" to the police. The police ignored the report and instead took him back to the factory hoping for a "finder's fee." He escaped a second time and joined the Bonded Labor Liberation Front, attending a school sponsored by them while advocating against forced child labor in multiple countries, including the US and Sweden.

He was fatally shot while visiting relatives in Muridke. on Easter Sunday in 1995.
