hey it actually isn’t! i get really really sick whenever i have more than a beer or two and i absolutely hate how people assume i must be lame/a kill joy when i refuse a drink. people choose to be sober or mostly sober for a variety of reasons, e.g. addiction, medical, etc. and not a single one of them is “because i’m a lame person who hates fun”

The degree to which drinking is seen as a must in social situations is fucking weird, and I think the fact that people are more put off by non-drinkers than by how much alcohol consumption has permeated the culture is … troubling.

imagine someone without allergies injecting themselves with an epipen and saying “I find that this did not help me therefor epipens are not helpful to people with allergies”

this is basically the argument neurotypicals are making when they say fidgets don’t actually help neurodivergent people or people with mental illness bc theyre “distracting” or “don’t relieve stress” or whatever they’re argument may be.

I wanna see authors laughing at their own jokes, I wanna see authors feeling that awkward way we all feel when the characters are doing something we don’t want to them do, I wanna see authors crying and enjoying and loving their works like the reader does. 

I want to see authors treating their works like readers do.
