gif psd #177-181

a psd pack for the Pirates of the Caribbean film series. These psds work best as base psds. They do not color correct any of the really cyan/blue or really yellow scenes. As usual, the psds will need to be adjusted for each scene you use it on. You will most likely need to adjust the color balance layers and the curves layers. Please like or reblog. download.

Just a quick update! I’m almost done with the psds for the pirates of the caribbean film series. Instead of making one single psd for all of them, I’ll be making a psd for each separate film and post it as a psd pack. 

After this psd pack, I’ll be working on another pack for bollywood movies!

PART TWO: LEVELS

firstly i want to say that reading these in order will be immensely helpful to you. i’ll be referencing previous ones and assume in future tutorials you know how to use the layers i already went over.

in this tutorial i’ll discuss the basics of the levels layer and show you how i personally use the layer for my gif colorings. this isn’t a layer i rely on too heavily (mainly bc i’m more comfortable with the curves layer) and i don’t generally use it for brightening gifs (see the previous tutorial on curves linked above), but i just want it to be clear that it can be used for that even if it’s not what i personally use it for!

because of that i’ll also be describing how i took this gif:

with just a levels layer. (if you’ve read the curves tutorial this coloring should look familiar! i tried to make the coloring as close to the previous one to show you can achieve the same thing with either layer)

PART THREE: BRIGHTNESS/CONTRAST

this is gonna be a short one! this layer is super straight forward, but i figured i’d still include it in this series since it’s a layer i rely on quite a bit when doing colorful gifsets.

PART FOUR: COLOR BALANCE

i use color balance A LOT when i color gifs & it’s mostly for color correcting, but i also use it for my vibrant colorful gifs as well to enhance the color. as always, i’ll be explaining the basics of the color balance layer as well as telling you how i personally use it.
