The Impact
After reading THUG I hope people understand the power of their words.
That silence is agreement
That white silence IS violence.
As those who identify as white individuals, whether we like it or not, we are born into privilege. What we do with that privilege is what sets us apart. If we sit in silence and allow the hate to keep spreading, then we are part of the problem. With our privilege comes the opportunity of being heard, so if we use our words to educate others on the injustices our nation commits towards minorities and to take a stand as an ally, then we can change to be part of the solution. With our privilege we can amplify the voices of people of color that speak on race, racism, and police brutality.
Now its our turn to choose, how will you choose to use your privilege?
