what people don’t understand about how adhd is disabling is that it’s not just getting temporarily distracted from, like, school work or hobbies. it’s getting distracted/being unable to motivate yourself to go to the doctor, eat regularly, do hygiene tasks, etc. it’s not knowing when or how long it will take you to do something, ANYTHING, and in many cases that thing is taking a shower or keeping your house from turning into a biohazard. it’s about being fundamentally incapable of controlling your attention and focus on anything, even and especially things you need to do to survive.

When I was early on in my transition I got in a Lyft, and the driver was this big country guy. I was a little nervous so I just sat quietly in the back.

After a moment he changed the music on his phone to what sounded like a Hatsune Miku song. Curiosity got the better of me, so I finally spoke up and said “is this Hatsune Miku?”

And he said “Yep. You looked uncomfortable, and I know Transgender women like Hatsune Miku, so I thought it might help.”

I think about that interaction a lot.

And let's go for some made up character stuff for these three:

Sisyu is the Information Team Captain, and genuinely the most unlucky of all of the Captains, having been the one to have died the most to Abnormalities (certainly not because Managers T and V were struggling with their job, no, not at all, he's just real unlucky);

Genuinely never wanted to be a Team Captain, but the Managers still gave him the position, mostly because they felt guilty for the amount of times they got him accidentally (or purposefully) killed, letting him at least stay on one of the "mostly safe" Departments.

Velasquez is the Welfare Team Captain, and this here is the Captain who is most prone to insanity surprisingly enough, he and Hana have "trying not to cry" breaks together often;

He was actually fairly well put together before starting to work with Blue Star, but after being assigned to work with that Abno for so many days straight, he began to have far less ability to keep his sanity in check when working with anything OTHER than Blue Star;

The amount of times Velasquez has wandered around the facility in a Panic is uncountable... really.

HaLynn is the Extraction Team Captain, and they are only alive out of pure spite for Parasite Tree- they have one singular goal in life, and it's to destroy that fucking annoying thing;

They were unfortunately the singular Nugget that got hypnotised by the Parasite Tree the most, and they genuinely hated every second of it, pushing through any task given to them out of rage and the need to stay alive longer than that stupid Tree (why they work with CENSORED a lot, they cant panic if they are blinded by rage 👍);

Was so close to trying to kill the Managers after they gave them the Parasite Tree EGO Gear to use, they really did not find it funny in the slightest.
