alright, a fight had not been QUITE what she was expecting when she waltzed into another world, but there she was, faced with creatures beyond even her knowledge. as far as she had been taught, Grimm were the only creatures who could not project an aura, but these? they were just as monstrous and hollow. but the similarities between these monsters and the Grimm certainly came in handy – if she could fight one, she could fight the other.
it took a little while to get the hang of combat ( they weren’t identical after all, this did require a slightly different approach ) but soon she was cutting her way through creature after creature, dappling the battle field with rose petals.
until one caught her off guard.
a sword in her cape, she struggled to free herself, to maneuver in a way where she could launch some sort of attack before the monsters closed in – but her range of movement was limited, and as uncommon as it was for her, panic was starting to set in.
a flash of light later, accompanied by the telltale sound of metal smashing against bone, and in one fell swoop, at least five creatures were swept away into dust. the moment gave her enough time to yank the blade that kept her pinned down before she moved to discern the one who had swept to her rescue.
the reunion was cut short as another beast moved to flank her companion, though the huntress was quick to dispatch the enemy with a well-placed shot to its head. a favor for a favor.
❝ Man, am I ever glad to see you!! ❞
What had been an exploration had quickly become a battle. The elder of the two was simply basking in how beautiful this world was ( maybe next time, she can bring the rest of the team and they can have a picnic! ) though, hearing cries all too familiar had her sprinting to the site. Magnihild was already out in its hammer form, the girl absolutely ready to pummel whoever decided to engage in combat with the little red.
The creatures were certainly an interesting sight ( they weren’t Grimm, she knew that for sure ) though, she didn’t have any time to observe their battle style. If they were intelligent enough to attempt to restrict Ruby’s movements, she was quick to deem them as a noticeable threat, Nora immediately swooping in and literally breaking a few legs ( fortunately, the victims were mere skeletons ). Once the threat was taken care of, a cheeky grin spreads itself across the girl’s lips, mouth opening to speak before she turns around, witnessing the creature’s fall.
❝ Whew! That was a close one! Oh, but! I’m happy to see you too! ❞
Conversation wasn’t something she partook in often when battling. Rather surprisingly, considering it’s Nora, she cuts her words short, opting to focus on the fight at hand. More creatures were coming their way― If they took care of them now, they could chat quicker. With a nod, Nora moves quickly, body maneuvering itself to evade a swing of another beast’s axe. Her grin seems to widen at this, her hammer being gripped tightly in her hold, the weapon swinging in an upward arc, effectively smashing into the creature’s rib cage.
Wow, who knew a crunching noise could be so satisfying? ( Oh, right. Probably the girl with a hammer ).
