Yo! I made a playlist for Hamlet. It’s still under construction, but I’m pretty proud lol

Fuck. After reading Hamlet, I REALLY DONT KNOW WHICH SHAKESPEARE TO READ. I’m afraid I’ll be disappointed after reading a timeless masterpiece, but I told myself I had to read one tragedy a month and...ugh. So now I’m searching up Shakespeare’s plays ranked to try and decide whether I want Julius Caesar or Othello.
Pictures of Ophelia(pinterest)....
Have you seen the wonder called Ophelia?
The innocent girl who fluttered out flowers to murderers, incestuous adulterers, the dead, and her poor brother?
She sang like the wind as her breath sways her hair,
She ordered a whimsical symphony with her lips,
Her love and father gave her tears.
She wondered round to her willow and her brook
Followed the scent back to her daisies, “long purples,” and “dead men’s fingers,”
She knew not it was her own life she took
When she sang herself into the water.
She had a love for life once.
She had a wise, stern father
But now her soul fades into the weeds and forever sleeps with smooth pebbles and pills of gold under the river deep
I finished Hamlet. It’s 3 in the morning, but Ophelia died in a haunting way. She was too beautiful to live. If there was a God above, he was just selfish enough to wrap her in a wreath of flowers and take her away. She was even more pure in her madness than she was without it.
I’m amazed by the extent of skill hamlet/Horatio fanfic writers have.
