text šØ heath & talia
Heath: If you promise to come alone, I'll talk to you, Talia.
Heath: You can't bring Lucifer or anyone else.
davisadele:
Relax. Easier said than done as she settled down lightly on the edge of the bench, keeping as much well preserved distance between them as possible despite failing spectacularly. There wasnāt much room in there at all, less so when heād gestured for her to join him at the front as her eyes were torn between him and the gun, seeing the same man from the other day at the Oscars but recognizing next to nothing of him. All she could think about was the stab of fear that coursed through her, like ice water in her veins as she was chilled to the bone at the thought that heād made it that far into the Church unnoticed. Or what would have happened if heād been noticed before now. How many people could have been hurt if theyād stepped between him and whatever his end goal was here.
āYou want me to show you how to pray?ā The question slipped out before she had a moment to remember the circumstances, not the safest of places to speak her mind as she flushed slightly out of fear more than embarrassment. Adele had no idea what he had come there for, or what he wanted to tall about when she would have done that gladly without the gun. āYou didnāt need to bring a gun if you only wanted to talk.. all you had to do was ask.ā
A simple question, one that would have been taken up gladly even as she didnāt fare well in the moment as her heart raced to beat out the words that took up space between her lips. It was there that she struggled to listen to her head or her heart, when they both wanted to be heard. Her head told her to RUN. While her heart poured out for the others in the Church who could be caught in the crossfire of her actions if she didnāt keep him contained and calm, a feat that was impossible to judge when she knew little of the man beside her. āThat night at the Oscars, did you know that was going to happen? Did you know.. did you know about the Horsemen?ā
Plenty knew but less believed ( or they hadnāt until the world was fully enveloped by the death and destruction that they brought with them while the few in her world still fought against them ) but that night had been nothing short of chaotic. Her eyes scanned him, taking in everything that she could but little was easily read or given as she felt helpless to know what all he wanted other than to talk. Maybe he did. Maybe he didnāt. She paled at the latter thought, letting her gaze drift to her hands in her lap before she lifted it with a straighter back as she shot him a rueful smile that didnāt extend far. āHope. I pray for hope.ā Hope for the people who needed it and hope in those who still had it and wouldnāt give up until they saved the world. Hope fed them all.
āForgive me, Adele. Unfortunately my face is not as welcome as it used to be and thatās a rather new feeling for me.ā She wasnāt going to relax. Why did he think the gun wouldnāt startle a doe like Adele? Yet, she sat down next to him, a figure of quiet strength. He could appreciate that. However, Heath was a creature of immense strength.Ā āHere, Iāll make it easier for you, Adele.ā He discharged the gun and slid the magazine away before holding the gun in his palm. He didnāt stop there. Whether it was actually a show of goodwill for her to relax or a show of that strength was up in the air but Heath crushed the gun in his fist into a ball, ignoring the bite of it. He picked up the small ball and smiled prettily at Adele before throwing it to the side.Ā āSee. No more gun.ā
āI knew about the Horsemen. After all, I feed Donato.ā He looked at her, gauging for her reaction.Ā āAfter all, Donato needs those doubts to eat and that emptiness to suck up into him.ā He shook his head, sighing audibly.Ā āAnd fortunately for Donato, Iām a walking, talking happy meal.ā After all, Heath doubted his creator more than most. It was helped by the fact he knew his creator personally.Ā Famine fed off it, sucking up that cold nothing in Heath like it was water and Famine was a dehydrated man in the desert. He paused and looked at her.Ā āI didnāt think of Elijah and you that night. None of that was my intent nor plan." He pressed his lips together.Ā
Elijah had been angrier than ever, giving War plenty of energy to destroy. He wondered if that was because of Adele. He knew his own void had grown because of Talia. God, he missed Talia. Sheād know what to do but this wasnāt her path, it was Heathās. He had refused Luciferās plan, forcing his way in a different direction. Talia would never leave Lucifer for Heath. No matter what he said.Ā
āHope?ā He questioned, casting her a dubious glance. It made sense that she prayed for hope but hope had never been apparent in his own life.Ā āYou pray for hope but for whom, Adele? Everyone hopes for something different. My hopes are different than yours. Warās hopes are different than yours.ā He was quiet for a moment and then cast her another glance. His expression was hesitant, vulnerable for once.Ā āDo you pray for Elijah, Adele? Even for what heās done?ā He looked up at Jesus again.Ā āI pray for Talia.ā
where: l.a., looting & fun stuff when: present day closed to: @risingorfalling or @abaddonian or bOTH
Heath strolled through Los Angeles like it was just another day. He stepped over blood and bodies like they were nothing more than dirt, casually whistling a tune to himself as he walked. Staying in his apartment was boring, the streets were where the fun was and Heath desperately wanted something to do. Or drink. Mainly he wanted something to drink. Flexing his hands at his sides, he kept his pace toward Delirium. The place was closed, that much was for sure but nothing was ever really closed to him. Breaking into the nightclub was easy, a simple shoving open of the locked door sending it flying opening. Weaving around knocked over tables and chairs, Heath kept pace toward the bar, only to come to a stop in front of it. Surprise danced over his face before it melded into a look of delight. Excellent. One of his fellow farriers.Ā āI must say I didnāt expect to see you here today.ā
occultsandcrafts:
Tabitha wrinkled her noseĀ āHashtag I survived seems a little too obvious, though you never know. Apocalypse Babes? I saw that one flying around before everything went from bad to worse,ā
Heath couldnāt help but laugh at her expression and response.Ā āApocalypse Babes would probably be a good one. I imagine most fraternities in your country would take that hash tag and run with it. Or end up using the Apocalypse as a form of hazing.ā
āIām pretty sure I just saw someone taking a selfie, when I just looked outside. Do you think hashtag apocalypse selfies will be a thing when this is done?ā Jokes, jokes, jokes - anything to take her mind off the dead walking. Anything at all to make it better.
āI mean, I wouldnāt be surprised. Anything to cope with whatās happening outside, right?ā Heath couldnāt help but respond, arching en eyebrow at the younger girl beside him.Ā āWhat do you suppose will be the top hashtag?ā
mynameis-kiara:
āWhoops,ā Kiara said non-chalantly as if her former friend had meant nothing to her. Vague memories of interacting with one of the bodies came into mind ā throwing darts while intoxicated, laughing, patting each otherās shoulders.Ā āI liked her once,ā she continued plainly, stroking what was left of her head.Ā āBut she paid the price for stealing from other people. Tsk tsk, Val.ā Shaking her head in faux disappointment, she stood from her knee and took a step toward Heath. āThey were just appetizers. Think you can find me some dinner?ā
āIf thatās how you like people, I worry for those you despise, Pestilence. Wait..ā Heath paused, frowning.Ā āNo, No I really donāt. Kill away your enemies and whatnot but cāmon, leave some decent bartenders for us that donāt get sustenance from sins.ā Heath reached up to run a hand through his blonde hair, shaking his head and peering at her over his sunglasses. He eyed her, taking in her appearance.Ā āThat depends on whether you leave my drinking spots alone. Give me that and Iāll find you a five-course meal.ā
martriome:
Josh had a pleasant dream after a pleasant night ā not anything that heād put an official word to ( far too scared to ask and be told he was just being foolish ) but it had ended in states of undress with someone he shouldnāt be with.
So he laid with his back to Heath, continuing to try and keep the no doubt steady breathing pattern that happened when he was sleeping once his eyes fluttered open to see it was still dark. Something about the man made him sleep deep⦠but maybe it was just all in Joshās head; it certainly wasnāt because he felt more security with Heath than with anyone else.
Oh, but Heath realized heād woken up quite fast. And he was speaking, saying that the whole thing seemed dreadfully unholy ā and wasnāt he right? Josh was the martyr he was supposed to beā what was he supposed to be? His only purpose was to die for other people. Shouldnāt he be allowed unholy, selfish things? Shouldnāt he, and by extension his sisters, be allowed a normal life with a normal death and a normal afterlife?
āLots of things seem unholy when you factor in I used to be Jesus, Heath,ā Josh mumbled the words as he readjusted his place on the bed, turning to face Heath.
Josh almost wanted to avert his eyes ā maybe if he didnāt look at Heath then he wouldnāt be committing some sort of sin ā but instead he studied him; forced himself to face what he didnāt want to ( and wasnāt that just becoming the norm? ). And Heath was something to sin for. Something not quite human, just like him. Something that tumbled through time over and over; them both being recycled through time. Didnāt that fit them then? Two people, more than human, laying in bed together on a day where the apocalypse felt more than a few inches away?
Josh almost didnāt realize that heād reached out to touch Heathās face while heād been lost in his thoughts, at least, not until he made the lightest of contact with the warm skin of the other person in the bed. He swallowed. āIād ask if you think this is unholy enough to keep us from heaven, but neither of us are given much choice in that.ā The words were tinged with bitterness, religion didnāt have the comfort it used to have for him. It just sat hollow within him.
āPerhaps. Lots of things donāt seem as destructive when you factor in I used to be the Behemoth.ā Heath countered, a quick, wicked smile flitting across his face. The mischief left him a moment later.
āIf you are Jesus, am I Judas?ā Heath asked, voice hanging low in the darkness. He watched Josh readjust, a spider watching the fly.Ā āAm I to kiss you with betrayal and the foreshadow of death?ā But then again, death had always been foreshadowed in Joshās life. Heathās blue eyes swirled.Ā āWould you kiss me still, Josh? If I were to betray you with a kiss and you knew? Would you still kiss me and court your death?āĀ
Josh seemed nervous, something Heath inwardly fed off. However, despite his nervousness, Josh appeared to be forcing himself to meet Heathās face. He didnāt seem to want to look away and for that, Heath was almost appreciative. He preferred people who looked unholy, ugly things in their faces and if there was one thing Heath was - even if it wasnāt physical - it was an unholy, ugly thing. Besides, there was something that drew them together. Perhaps it was what Josh said next, his fingers touching Heathās face.Ā
No, neither of them were going to prison. Only Josh seemed to feel the bitterness that Heath had. The fact that neither of them mattered in the long run, a cog in the machine of reincarnation. They could die one moment and be replaced by their new self a moment later. They truly didnāt matter. Talia didnāt seem to understand but Josh did.Ā
āIāll scorn Heaven and Hell.ā Heath scowled, face pulling taut.Ā āNeither of them work for me. Raziel or Lucifer? Spare me.ā
where: l.a. when: after all the shit goes down at the oscars closed to: @olivia-cross
Technically the black 2013 Porsche 911 Carrerra wasn't his but Heath had seen the car and given in to one of the tricks that Leviathan had taught him. Nevermind the fact that in a past life he had been a judge who called for the hands of thieves, Heath had broken into the car with ease. He had been mildly surprised when Olivia had texted him but then again he had underestimated how damaged Olivia was.Ā
Olivia Cross, IT Girl of Los Angeles, former best friend to Pestilence and ex-possession victim. Heath fucking loved it. Everything about her screamed waiting to shatter and if there was something that Heath reveled in, it was broken things. He drew them to him and then knocked them to the floor, watching as they split into thousands of pieces. Olivia was broken but fun. Heathās type.
His void fed off her dangerous habits. Not to mention that since it was Lucifer had possessed her, Heath felt nothing at egging on her darker ambitions. Finish the bottle, snort a little more, dance a little longer. Olivia was so vividly American too. It made things even more fun for Heath. She seemed aware of his darker side but still came for him, stoking a curiosity in just how far she was willing to go. And there she was - as promised - on the corner by Magic Castle. The car slid up to her, the passenger door unlocking.
āNo, please. Donāt mind little olā me standing here. I love hearing Ā about how terrible I am. It just makes me all tingly inside.ā
[insert gif here, because tumblr is being a dickĀ and iām tired of the waiting screen]
āFucking move.ā Heath snapped at the person yelling at War, barely glancing at them as they went through a brick wall at his gentlest touch. He turned to face the Horseman, his accent becoming sharper the longer he stared at War.Ā āDid you hear what I said? Pestilence ate my coke dealer. At least send her to Las Vegas for a little bit.ā
where: the Oscars when: before shit goes down open to all
The Oscars. No matter the horror of the world around them, attending a party of peak Hollywood glamor was enchanting. Sheād spent the entire day fussing over her own outfit and Heathās when he let her, trying to rein herself in. Heath knew something he wasnāt telling her, and Talia couldnāt tell today if it was his general surliness or something else that prevented him from saying.
On the red carpet, though, she flashed a smile and preened, letting go of her worriesāas best she couldāfor the moment. She should have noticed when Heath vanished from her side, but when she turned to comment to him about the haggard look of the celebrities around them he was gone. Well, if he wanted to abandon her at the biggest event of the year, she wasnāt going to chase after him; Talia wanted to enjoyĀ herself for a single night.
Looking at Talia hurt him. He had strode away from her the first chance he got, unable to continue lying to her. She knew something was wrong but she didnāt question and for that, he loved her dearly. It was because of that reason that Heath slowed his pace in walking away from her, slowing to an almost stop. The thought that he might never see her again was what floored him. His actions tonight would forever divide them, so why was he abandoning her on his last night?
He snatched two full glasses of champagne and turned, making his way back to her.Ā āForgive the sudden disappearance, Talia. You know how I am when I see champagne.ā He offered the other flute to her, giving her a small but genuine smile.Ā āYou look lovely tonight. Full offense to the rest of these peacocks on the carpet, I think you outshine them all.ā
righthandprince:
āHeath.ā His name became a greeting; a mercurial smile gracing Leviathanās face as she approached him, her steps silent even in heels. It had been a while since she last saw him ā it felt bittersweet, that the end of the world was what brought it on.
āCircumstances ought to be better, but itās still good to see you,ā she said, and she meant it.
āLeviathan.ā His response was as polite as ever but there was an underlying warmth that was missing from his tone most of the time. He had forgotten about Leviathan, his heart pounding faster in his chest as a sudden rush of affection and grief hit him. Heath rarely felt anything so to feel something of that caliber made his smile sharper than he meant. āI hadnāt thought to see you but your presence is a gift as always.ā For once in his life, though, he didnāt mean it. Leviathan had been his mentor while Lucifer busied himself with Talia but he didnāt want her here on this night. Was Lucifer there too?
āDonāt suppose you came alone, right?ā He asked, not bothering to hide his hopeful expression. āNo Raziel or Lucifer?ā
