MY DUMBASS ACCIDENTALLY DELETED THE FILE OH MY GODDDDDDD
From 1938 to 1965, from Chicago to Las Vegas, from Adam to Czar 🥂
Some snippets from Rivages Lointains / Smoke Gets In Your Eyes Part2. I finished half of the comic today and am very proud. I hope you'll like it!
february- haas
ok to the few who asked about painting process i hope the timelapse helps out a little
i start with my highlight color as my canvas then i block out silhouette and harshest shadows. local color (including skin undertones) are all brushed with low opacity which i kind of use to sketch the subject, then shadows are slowly built up considering bounce lighting. honestly you can cheat a little and just stare real hard at the reference for hints on the shadow color. from then on is refining shape but make sure not to get lost in the sauce (you can see in my struggle with the eyes)
im usually a little insecure about my timelapses because sometimes ill draw random doodles on the sides or the ugly stage is BAD but this ones not too terrible i guess? enjoyy
SAVE A HORSE‼️‼️
some color!!
SAVE A HORSE‼️‼️
i know it really annoying but i love your art so much, could you show what brushes you like to use
NOOOO ITS NOT ANNOYIGN AT ALL THANK YOUS O MUCH!! Ill be happy to show you!!
I use the dramatic sketch brush from fish’s brushset (https://cynodontidae.gumroad.com/l/ctivb) and the older art I used to use loish’s oil pastel (https://loish.net/faq/brushes/) and sometimes a rake brush (those are available anywhere
Ill usually stick with the same brush for the entire piece but my process and brushes flip flop all the time since i'm always experimenting!! usually for my paintings I don’t start with that much of a sketch anyways and I’ll start blocking off colors right away
I love the first brush because lowering the opacity doesn’t make that weird opacity stacking effect that happens (ykwim??) Color is so important in my art and I blend a lot using the opacity slider so I keep it like 50-100% when I do my paintings (I start low then increase it)
anyways don’t be afraif to ask questions!!! I love answering asks!!
"Gambling, that's fair. But drugs? I swore to myself to never touch that shit.
- Adam, you are running a casino. Be serious a minute."
Las Vegas, 1965.
Adam is running the Bettin' Blitz casino, alongside his friend Peter Hetman.
A life of crime, of rises and pitfalls, traps and betrayals, to finally settle down.
Money flows, mafia trials start to air on the television, and one unexpected arrest force Adam to dig some ghosts of the past.
It is 1965, and you start to reflect if all you did was worth it - and for what ?
Surprise! I have started to tease it a bit, but Adam's prequel... is also a sequel. It goes full Godfather2 style, with the overlapping of his rise to power from 1922 to 1938, and what happens in the casinos, from 1965.
I hope you will enjoy this story as much as I loved to write it. Warning, it will be very, very bittersweet. 🥴🥴🥴
used a new brush new technique enjoyy
